Freddie was the first front man to ever give a show. It was his belief that the fans deserve a “performance”, not just a band that stands still with their heads down playing their instruments. Other bands follow suit down the road after seeing what a success Queen achieved. Freddie is still ranked as the #1 Front Man in Rock and Roll along with the #1 Rock and Roll singer. I can’t see anyone surpassing him. Not only does he have an absurd octave range, but his voice is very powerful and watch his face when he sings- he pours emotion in every single song. Please react to Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. Fantastic guitar and drums along with the amazing voice!!!!!! I enjoy you all very much. Such a great pair of buddies!!

Roger wrote the vision of the song. The rest of the band finished it in the studio. It’s mostly about Martin L King. There’s a documentary about how they made the song. 👑

I thought it might be about MLK last time I listened. It'a like Pride (In The Name Of Love) which is partly about MLK. And, the bridge part "early morning, April 4th shot rings out in a memphis sky.. " is the day MLK got shot. but it's like the bridge in One Vision... Pride "free at last they took your life but they could like take your pide" One Vision "Look what they did to my dreams" (shot him).

Greatest of all time!! Queen as a band and Freddie Mercury as a front man! The vocals aside in this van set them apart, in addition to their musicianship. Freddie Mercury is the most unique front man I've ever seen in my entire life! He could grab a crowd in the palm of his hand and they would stand up and I would sit down or do anything he wanted them to do. Live Aid 1985 is a perfect example and absolutely incredible.

Freddie without knowing it was already in the full development of the disease. he made a huge physical and vocal effort. only in the last concerts of 1986 did he realize the problem, he could not sing as he wanted. it was incredible on stage and his voice was powerful yet he was sick. he is truly a legend!

Mary Treder of course yes. but the years would never stop Freddie. he would continue to play concerts. it was at the end of the magic tour that Freddie told the group that he could no longer stand the concerts. because by now he understood his problem. age would not have stopped him, as he showed even if he was sick he was always the best on stage.

@@RexorgenOnavi I believe this was the magic tour - two nights at Wembley, and one more night at Knebworth, where he told the band he couldn't tour anymore; then he went on to make The Great Pretender, and his album with Monserrat Caballe then back to the band for studio work and a few videos.

Mary Treder you are right. I'm only talking about the live part in concert. what I meant was that because of the illness Freddie was very affected on the stage. and his voice could not be perfect, with what I mean, that this man was an incredible man! even if sick he was above all

Great concert, filmed over 2 sold out nights. They had enough ticket requests to do many more. When they were writing the song, they were throwing out all different lyrics. At one point, Freddie was reading items off of a Chinese takeout menu. That’s why they left in “fried chicken”. The song was originally written by Roger Taylor about MLK, Jr. “I have a dream speech”, but once they started working on it in the studio, they added other things. A great video to watch is the longer version of “The making of One Vision”. It’s quite amusing. One set of lyrics that didn’t survive is in the video, “One dump, one turd, two tits, John Deacon”.😂 Here’s the link if you want it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eniFl9ZmYqiehMY.html

I can give you the name of a song you will love (all Queen's songs have been written by one band member or all members). They were all very respectful and at times did not share the meaning of the songs an individual wrote i.e Bohemian Rhapsody - to this day Roger (drummer) and Brian May (guitarist) don't know the meaning of Bohemian Rhapsody) HOWEVER, the following song was written by all band members, as they all felt very strongly about the subject - the song was inspired by their first manager who took advantage of their inexperience and virtually stole their money when they were first starting out and gained great success. The name of the song is "Death on 2 Legs". If you search on KZread you'll find it. Very intense!! You'll love it

I'm so glad QUEEN is now in your wheelhouuse! Hee is the link to IN THE LAP OF THE GODS Be prepared, Freddie gets sooo lost in his art as he sings this song & pl ays the piano, it may bring u to tears. He never came out until 1991 & many of his songs are his fear of being who he was born to be are in his lyrics, Bohemian Rhapsody too... "Mama, I just killed a man, put a gun up to his head, pulled the trigger now he's dead..." He wants to come out but in 1975, well, u know. He feared ruining his band mates lives & reputation & instead used the glam rock look as a fill in reason for his outfits. He said, many years later to a very close trustworthy friend, " I'm as gay as a daffodil ". Bless this extraordinary man that he dealt with such hatred for gays all his life. Real Freddie was very opposite from his performance persona. He was a musical genius, as was Brian May who earned his Doctorate as an astrophysicist. Roger was a dentist! John an engineer! Freddie chose art school & is a graphic artist! Their musicianship working together is astounding, isn't it? Now watch his face burying himself in this incredible performance. What an opener. It cut out so abruptly bc they go right into Tie Your Mother Down. Which of course is a great performance. If you do the making of for this song the fried chicken lyric makes sense. You wouldn’t have known this from a best of album bc this was a new song in 86. Sadly this tour would be their last with Freddie. Have you guys considered doing Live Aid? It’s about 20 minutes & is still considered the best live set ever performed.

This song is about Marin Luther King Jr. There is a great video called the making of one vision, genius at work. I am going to tell you about the leadf guitarist Brian May. All four men are intellects. Dr. Brian May has a doctorate in Astrophysics. He has consulted with NASA on projects. He even has a nine minute solo named for one of those projects called New Horizon. The guitar he is playing is the one he still plays. He and his father built that guitar from wood taken from a fireplace mantle. It is known as "The Red Special". They built the guitar in 1969 because Brian could not afford the one he wanted. If you can see my profile picture it is Brian playing the Red Special this past summer. When I took this picture and saw it I thought he's still a freakin Rock Star! Keep them coming guys!

You gotta see the next song after One Vision. But try an earlier video of White Queen (I think at the Odem) . It will blow you away. It is from the 70s.

@trf12567 John came up with the Bass line and Freddie and David came up with the lyrics, I think they all had a hand in it to be fair.

U guys are cheering up all of us diehard Queen fans. Are u aware Brian May BUILT HIS GUITAR with his Dad at 17 yrs old out of old broken scrap from a fireplace, mom's knitting needles & a bicycle kick stand. He uses "the Red Special to this day at every performance 99% of songs. (It's also called "the Old Lady". Lookup Red Special youtube video for Brian explaining it took years to build it.

Many bands have greatest hits albums. Many bands have multiple greatest hits albums... but are just the same songs in a different order.. Queen have 2 greatest hits albums. But they could have had a whole lot more..their songs were that good (Yes...I know they have a 3rd...but that's just remixes, solos and live tracks..plus a few other songs thrown on)

My personal favorite from this show is “A kind of magic”. Please react. Here’s the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lWaT2rmNg9yppbg.html Also written by Roger Taylor. He got the title from a line in the original “Highlander” movie with Christopher Lambert. The character was immortal, and there could be only one. Queen did the soundtrack for the movie. Another great song from the movie was written by Brian May. Since the character was immortal, he falls in love and has to watch her age and die in his arms. So he wrote “Who wants to live forever”. The Wembley version is good, but the one from Budapest, Hungary is better IMO. Here’s that link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rJqkyMSOfcbagZs.html ENJOY!

Sparta...they’re looking at Queen from a U.S. perspective...what they think are the greatest hits...they need to take a deep dive into Queen’s catalogue. How about they start with the making of “One Vision”🤩

He wrote it after Freddie played what that riff would be on the piano if he didn't do a guitar riff. Brian said that....thought Freddie had it all in his head and didn't need his guitar. Thankfully Brian agreed with Freddie and went off and gave us the guitar riff.
