Not sure how the movie got queen for the soundtrack, but I do know how queen got the star of the film to appear in the music video with them. Apparently Christopher Lambert was really good friends with Freddie Mercury, so when Freddy asked him to appear in the music video he said yes

This track and Who Wants to live forever, really hit the theme of the film, very well, espeically who wants to live forever because you can feel the weight of Conner's sadness at the fact his first wife has died and he has to go on living with no family to help him through his grief!

I’ll never forget hearing this song for the first time. Sounds weird, but it gave me hope when I was young. I was bullied a lot and I thought that I was destined to be bullied my whole life. But this made me want to stand up and fight back. It was the first time I felt that way. I still get chills listening to this song.

First thought thank God you’re here. I didn’t see that I’d replied. I still listen to that song. I tend to get a lot of sore throats & mild sickness; not a healthy person BUT I think how this man was DYING, not just sick anymore but dying….and he WORKED!! Even as a child I adored the film and the incredible music of Queen. When I saw the clip, I thought, “Oh God, how lucky they are, it’s MacLeod with them!” Now I understand that it’s actually the other way around, it’s incredible luck to stand on the same stage with Freddie. Favorite song, magical!

The whole beginning of this song is one of the absolute best ever.

People often tell me they've never so much as heard of Highlander. I show them this song and say Queen did the whole soundtrack. If they say they don't like it, well...time to draw my sword.

It was an amazing movie with an amazing sound track. They did it perfectly

I absolutely love Queen, and they are indisputably one of the greatest rock bands in history. That being said, this song has one of the most jarring tonal shifts I’ve ever heard. I absolutely adore the bad ass beginning of this song. It has an epic dark fantasy feel and then suddenly it shifts to an upbeat almost whimsical sound. The movie Highlander is anything but whimsical.

Fue la mejor serie en los años 90 acá en León Guanajuato la pasaban en el canal 25 alas 7 de la noche al igual como viajeros en el tiempo es una lastima que ayan dejado de pasar estás series

I realized my children are in their 20s and I have not yet shown them Highlander. I am a failure as a father. Hang on. They listened to Queen daily since birth so I am pretty awesome.

Both of my kids, adults but kids to me, are monster Disney princess dorks and my son and his husband will explain in great detail how the greatness of a Disney princess is weighted by how useless the prince is. In their minds the prince is to be eye candy who needs to stay out of the way or better yet not exist. I love my kids.

Love how Christopher Lambert was a huge queen fan and said he was star struck meeting the band. And funny how a lad called Lambert is now the lead singer with the band. Give me Freddie any day

Have you watched the video for the "Princes Of The Universe" song for which he got kind of buff and he sword "fights" Christopher Lambert, the titular Highlander?.. Yeah Freddie Mercury was smooth af... I recommend you watching also the videos for the recently released Queen "Let Me In Your Heart Again", Mercury's solo "Time", the video for Queen's reworking of "I Was Born To Love You", the videos for "Play The Game", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Let Me Entertain You" as well as the original video of Mercury's version of "I Was Born To Love You", the earlier videos for "Bycicle Race", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "Now I'm Here" and my favorite video of all time "Killer Queen"...
