While it would be definitely interesting to have IU in the leading role, I am glad Kim Ji Won got the part. IU is very famous, also because of her K-Pop career, and doesn't need much more publicity. Kim Ji Won on the other hand was always a bit underappreciated despite being great actress. After Queen of Tears she got a boost to her popularity she always deserved, especially internationally, so I hope to see her in more dramas now.

IU is soo familiar already and would not have made this role famous the way Kim Ji Won did. Chaebol daughters always enigmatic and hidden from the public. JIWON Nailed this role The best. No one would have nailed it better.

Important FACTS: Before they changed the director, Lee Eungbok PD's # 1 pick wa IU and after they changed The PD TO Kim heewon the # 1 was Kim Jiwon. They Mentioned in the press conference, all the leads and supporting roles were all her FIRST Choice. so no, Jiwon is not a Second Choice.

This drama wont be a mega hit without Ji Won....its all about the chemistry of Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun !!

As much as i love IU, Ji Won was one of those actresses that i feel deserved the recognition as she always deliveries her roles so well. I knew she will do impressively! Im so glad people acknowledged how great of an actress she is now. While i do wonder how it would have been if it was IU, i wouldnt be so invested in this drama if this werent’ JiWon x sooHyun pairing.

Naaah i can see IU easily for this role too. She had done the Rich confident female character before. Plus she knows kim so hyun for 10+ years so there is already chemistry. I was in the beginning shocked they choose for kim jiwon.

IU cou🎉ld never pulled that off as Haein . Although she's a great actress. Kim Ji Won is the perfect choice for the Role.

It's crazy how I love IU as an actress yet not able to imagine her as Hae In because Ji Won nailed it.

This drama has a few flaws, but the main couple is freaking amazing together and their acting is top-notch!!! Kim Soohyun deserves every penny he gets paid for his acting because he's absolutely phenomenal🫠 There's not a single moment in his acting where you'd be like, 'Meh, he could've done better.' His crying scenes are legit tearjerkers, and as Haein said, you just wanna hug him when he's crying lol Kim Jiwoon is also fantastic, as per usual. It's so cool how different her real personality is from the character she's playing! Overall, I'm really enjoying this drama and I hope it has a satisfying ending!

I’m glad Kim Ji-won was chosen to play the role of Hong Hae-in coz she portrayed her character so well. When the camera starts rolling you’re seeing Hong Hae-in, not Kim Ji-won the actress, that’s how good of an actress she is; Kim Ji-won perfectly embodied her character. I don’t think IU can pull it off, it’s just my opinion.

@@muhamadarif1498 I am not comparing both of them, Kim Ji-won is perfect for the role. IU doesn’t have that vibe to play a strong willed, feisty, cold and at the same time soft hearted CEO. Kim Ji-won’s micro expressions are exceptional; she’s way better than IU in conveying emotions through the eyes; you can see the subtle changes and transformation from cold, fierce looking to being hurt and vulnerable, and in my opinion, IU is lacking that ability.

Kim Soo Hyun played best in this particular segment among his other drama series. l love Kim Ji Won in Liberation Notes! She has that cold face, arrogant and stuck up look of Hae-In which is captivating! Two are competing in acting abilities.

If it's IU I don't think i'll be watching because, Jiwon is the only reason i took interest in this drama since the beginning. I started to love her and her aeygo in Fight for my way. I don't even really care abt the male lead. But after watching her drama, she always makes me fall in love with her counterpart. And this time she made me a fan of soohyun too. I'm just happy both of them took this project because their chemistry is out of this world ❤

Park Sung Hoon is such nice, relax and funny guy and yet he always lands on bad boy role. He's even that good in it, that after one episode I hate him from bottom of my heart - then hating myself of hating him. But sure, superb acting. This series brought me another favourite actress next to Jeon Yeo-been; Kim Ji-won is absolutely nailing her role and I consider her as best "cold, arrogant busines woman" of all time. And such beauty!

Kim Ji Won nailed every scene. She should have been nominated in Baeksang. Ding always working on her craft whatever the role is, been a fan since Rache Woo. #ProudDongDeng

Kim Ji Won slayed the role , it is made for her. We can’t imagine anybody else portray Hong Hae In better than her.

This drama was Perfect definition of perfection!!! Beautiful OST, luxurious designer outfits, heartfelt story, talented cast, rollercoaster emotions and above all our lead role kim²..... suppose even if the drama was bad, hong haein outfits and beauty was enough to draw my attention to this drama❤

IU as a strong and feared CEO of a prestigious company? Sorry, I don't buy that. Her baby-is face will not be so convincing. She simply does not have the right aura as Kim Ji Won does for the role. Nothing to do with her incredible acting chop. She simply does not exude the right vibe for the role. I am afraid.

I watched a lot lot of Korean dramas so I pretty much seen these actors exceptional talents and performances in their other projects and I’m just so elated to see a bunch of them together in this one project….😱what a treat!. I love IU and in fact I will see her perform live next week here in PH we love her so much! But from my own opinion, JI WON is perfect for this role and she is the only and right QUEEN for this successful Kdrama.

I think IU would have been incredible in this role… but Kim Jiwon is just perfect. As for IU… I just WANT to see her with V again like in the Love Wins All video… this NEEDS to be a Drama. Their chemistry is amazing.

Queen of Tears should have been nominated at Baeksang, and most importantly Kim Ji Won should have been nominated for best actress in drama and most popular actress category!!!

Vincenzo fans are saying that queen of tears is nothing but because of Vincenzo it is getting the hype.. but that's not true.. many are watching QOT from the beginning and yeah we agree that Vincenzo did increase the percentage but he was only in episode 9 so if this drama was nothing then Vincenzo fans would have not been watching till now.. they would have left the drama after Vincenzo scene.. but many are watching it so yeah it is something to get that hype.. and the casts are perfect for the roles.. and I now realised that the 1st 3-4 episodes were boring coz they were showing us their boring non romantic non expressing lifestyle

Well that's a relief. I watched this kdrama for Jiwon and only for Jiwonie

Two of his series are in my favourite top 10 - My Love from the Stars and Moon Embracing the Sun and 2 of hers - DOTS and Fight for my Way so I was excited by this pairing. And boy they certainly delivered.

After my Demon , this drama is my second fav on Netflix 😊❤

Kudos to everyone 👏👏 this is one of the kdrama i ‘ve watched with opened eye (no dull moment) from the start till the end. Nice ending different from the others. Hoping for another kdrama with substance

Kim Jiwon is a good actress…. Kim Soo Hyun always pair up with great actresses that matches his acting ability. Kim Soo Hyun is a credible and reliable actor in the cast. It’s like a sure thing that every drama that Kim Soo Hyun act in will be a hit drama of all times…. The supporting cast does not disappoint too… This is the first drama that KSH act as a husband and his comedic timing is so good that I look forward to him acting in funny roles in the future too…

Thank goodness IU didn't accept the role, as I don't think she would have been a good fit for KSH...KJW is much better.

If Kim Ji Won wasn't gonna get the role of Hae In, I would've definitely consider either Shin Hye Sun or Kim Go Eun before considering IU.

The role of Hae In was tailor-made for Kim Ji Won, the personality of IU is not suitable for the haughtiness and beauty of Hae-In.

I love IU and I think the role fit Ji won better because IU has a bit of a pretty innocent face whilst Ji Won has a more mature beauty and boss lady attitude

I hope the Kim couple will get an award for their role. This drama is one of their best works so far and their chemistry is undeniable.

I actually wanted to take a 3 week vacation in South Korea. But after seeing how Germany is portrayed negatively in this romantic drama, I drastically changed my vacation plans. I think that the South Koreans no longer have a good opinion of the Germans. I only saw untruths about Germany. We don't live here like we do in the Wild West! I was also a truck driver for over 15 years and after an accident like that, no truck drives anymore. Complete nonsense

The chemistry was fake because they were already involved in a sexual relationship during the filming. There was no acting involved for either one they just called each other different names. Kim is a poor role model for other actresses that you must bed the male actor to be successful.

I love IU to death, but I doubt she could have pulled off the Hae In vibes. Kim Jiwon is perfect for this role
