Written by Brian during the 1984 The Works sessions & was originally recorded in Los Angeles in 1983. Brian revealed that the band had found it impossible to complete the track, despite several versions of the lyrics being written to make it easier for Freddie to sing! The band abandoned the song, though it was later recorded by Anita Dobson in 1988. Roger said, “I was pleased we had three new tracks to put on the Queen Forever” album (including Let Me In Your Heart Again) .. re-released in 2014.

Dear, in the time of Barcelona, Freddie was very sick and some drugs to combat the HIV was with corticoide, that seems more fat (I lost my son for cáncer and happened the same, the face seems bigger) so sad.... my son was an fantastic guitar player, died at 22 years old, and his inspiration was Bryan, which we meet in person when he came to Rio, Brazil with his show Back to the light after Freddie passed... Maximiliano Santiago his name... more one reason to Queen be so special to me.. big hug to you from this argentina who lives in Rio ❤

Adulting is hard. Brian wrote several songs about it. “I feel like no one ever told the truth to me about growing up and what a struggle it would be” is one of his best lyrics (“Too Much Love Will Kill You”). Queen’s catalog truly represents every stage of life. I would like to suggest one of my favorite carefree songs from Queen, “Seaside Rendezvous” (lyric version). Thanks.

Another beautiful song by Queen. Freddy’s voice. I think you’d enjoy Its a Hard Life, weird video but great song

Brian wrote this one. My guess is that it was written for his then girlfriend and future first wife Chrissy, but it could have been written about "Peaches" a girl he fell for when Queen had toured in New Orleans, I don't know if anyone ever said for sure. As Freddie got older, and his disease progressed, his face got bloated from medications he was taking and then he got very thin at the end. Early on, Freddie was very thin, as were all the boys, there was little money for food. As Roger once put it, they were literally eating from each other's pockets. As Freddie matured he did become more muscled as well. It was a 20 year span, I think we all change some in that amount of time, but no plastic surgery for Freddie.

Oh YAAAAY… I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH! …And - can you believe - this was a “throwaway” song that DIDN’T even make it onto their album originally!?! (This song was left over from their 1984 recording sessions… It was finished and released in 2012.) Even Queen’s “rejects” are BETTER than most folks’ best efforts!😄

The reason Freddie’s face was swollen during the time of the opera, was because of the medication he was on . During that time is when he found out of his Aids diagnosis . The doctors had him on steroids, as well as other medication. Also during this same time is when Paul Prenter outed him to the press. He was going through so much at one time .

BTW, You’re very observant… As mentioned: Starting in 1987 (when he was doing the Barcelona opera album with Montsey) Freddie had begun having AIDS treatments which also included (painful) facial injections to get rid of cancerous lesions which were appearing on his face. (During this time, there are also photos of him in just shorts playing tennis, tho, and it looks to me like he may have allowed himself to “fill out”/put on a little bit of weight… which, why not?☺️He didn’t have to worry about touring anymore or being in the public eye in those tight “wife beaters”!) A bit after this, by 1989, he was starting to lose weight due to AIDS, tho. It was at this time that he started wearing a beard to cover some of those aforementioned lesions on his face, so he didn’t have to have as many injections. From 1987 onward, he also had changed his dressing style: Being in a long sleeved, buttoned up shirt also covered skin lesions. And later c.1989, he also started having his clothes lined in silk because the rougher fabrics were painful against his skin. …Earlier on, tho (pre HIV/AIDS) I’ve always noticed a difference in Freddie’s jawline from the 70s thru the 80s: His bone structure seemed to “fill out” when he got into his thirties, I think… OR, it may have been that his jaw just became more developed from all those years of “screaming at the top of my lungs” as Freddie put it!😉

The drugs used to treat AIDS back then created the facial swelling. :(
