Imagine your opponent hangs their queen and you think "aha, this is in the bag!" and then it's Hikaru and he stomps you

@GMHikaru I think one interesting format would be to see Hikaru trying to win against stockfish from random middle-game positions that favour him but only if he finds the brilliant move or something similar.

Hey Hikaru, have you heard of Chess Evolved Online? It’s like Chess, but it’s a gacha version with over 20 new pieces. It does kind of remove the fairness of Chess though, but it’s interesting that you can customize your pieces on the board before games, including your King. Also many of the “pawn” type of pieces will promote to a different preset piece, so normal Pawns promote into Bishops. Also there’s different tiers of the pieces, so a normal Pawn at the highest tier rarity can move 6 spaces at once. Each piece has a “power” value, and your total power value can’t go over a certain limit to try to balance this insane Chess game lol. The main weird thing is that you win by making your opponents’ moral points go down to 0. Losing your King does not guarantee your loss, but you lose 20 moral instantly, and lose like 10 per turn. I think your total moral is your total “power” value, but I haven’t played in years

There’s no rule saying you can’t be creative with Chess. Normal Chess is still the same as it has been for centuries, nothing stopping anyone playing any variations of Chess.

It depends how complicated the position is and how much material is left. Beating a more up to date stockfish up a queen very early on can be incredibly difficult.

Yo I got curious to what was on Hikaru's tiktok (hoping he would be dancing 🤭🤗😊). But instead, I found out that his FAN-page has double the followers, and it even his name "gmhikaru"!!! And instead of taking his own name 'gmhikaru' (I'm assuming the fan-page would gladly give it to him), he took the name "hikarugm"... This tells me that he maybe just doesn't care enough about tiktok as a platform itself, which I could understand of a chess player. But... it just doesn't feel right, for my favorite chess-streamer, to just give up on his handle! Even if it is a fan-account! Not hate intended to either party ofcourse. This just bothered me a little. So... which is true, the former or the latter?

He's laughing because he didn't realise he was about to run out of time and it took him by surprise. Complete opposite of being a sore loser, he accepted the loss well.

your editors are no bueno

Bro whoever does your thumbnails and titles needs to rethink their strategy. They do nothing to tell you what the video is about. It should be generic enough that anyone can read it and know exactly what it's about. Example: "Chess Grandmaster sacrifices his queen every game and still wins" or something along those lines. The thumbnail also doesn't show anything chess related. A better performing thumbnail would be a chess board showing with a position where he's sacrificing his queen.
