I agree with most, but I think you got the eye thing wrong. There's no way in hell Criston is gonna cut Luce eyes in front of the royal family. Even an attempt will be death for him. Viseys told him to do nothing about Luce. He was going to break up the fight.

@Fey Fire How can he think he will get out of it when the King gave him command against her. Viserys also says he will cut anyone who calls them bastard. He saw how protective Viserys was of Rhanerya and her kids. He also straight up rejected Alicent when she asked him to cut Luke's eyes.

@@aliakapoor Daemon didn't block him, that was a misread on the scene by this youtuber. It's actually all very messy and unclear, but what seals the deal that Daemon wasn't even going for Criston is the way he shockingly looks at his arm that Criston is holding when they collide, it looks like they're running into each other and that they were both going to help Alicent & Rhaenyra when it all escalated. And that makes more sense for Criston because, again, he's her protector and not a kid eye cutter.

Great video Fey Fire!! When I first watched this season, I had wondered if Cole and Alicent had courtly love. I was so excited when I saw this video! Also, the rules to courtly love at the end are interesting, thanks for including those.

Did anyone else watch Hill's Alive's video on this Alicent and Criston? It offers a less cynical take on their relationship. The narrative offers evidence for both interpretations, but as an Alicent stan I tend to prefer the less cynical view. That being said, great work on the video!

about the first moment I think it's worth noting that there's a subtle smile on Alicent's part when Viserys lets Criston stand "guard" in his chamber. It was subtle but there it is, plus another serious one that the commander of the guard kind of intuits that something is going on between the two

Really solid video, great job! The only negative thing I can say about it is I currently have it paused at 14:54 because I’m questioning why I just sat through the fourth (yes, the 4th) commercial break since I hit play with each commercial break containing 2 ads. Each commercial break contained the same type of commercials, too - the annoying ones that are 15-20 seconds long and are unskippable…As a rule, I generally don’t skip commercials for small/new/growing creators even when given the option, and truly, I hope this was another example of KZread going haywire with their ad rolls and this isn’t you loading a 20 minute video with what feels like will be 5 or even 6 commercial breaks. If you do read this, I’m not looking for a response or justification, I just hope to draw your attention that there’s WAY too many ads going on here - so if you didn’t choose that many ad rolls, you might want to reach out to KZread and tell them to knock it off. Otherwise, again, this was a great video, even if I had to sit through 6 minutes of unskippable ads 👍

I don't think any sort of "romance" is happening here, more likely just genuinely good friends. Both are greatly duty oriented, and Alicent got Criston out of a very tough spot in his life (right before suicide). Alicent's virtues of Duty and Tradition is something good that Criston tries to connect and show appreciation for. @LecheTheFarmer True. Full Potential Anakin sure, but Vader alone? He'd give her a struggle but not much more than that

Criston and Alicent’s treatment of Rhaenyra really pissed me off. What was she supposed to do? It’s not like she could truly run away with Criston even if she wanted to. Alicent marries her best friend’s dad and turned on her like it was nothing for having sex with Criston. If Criston and Alicent have a romantic relationship they are both hypocrites. This channel is great, I’m so glad the algorithm finally blessed me.

What about larys and Queen Relations Alicent questioned the virtue of Rheanyra what she is doing with Larys ........ Viserys is Old ... Always on medication In case she is not having comfort.... Handsome christion cole is there for her service Why she chooses larys? Please give me clarity

I think her arrangement with Larry may have started similarly to her relationship with Criston - an exchange of information. They're both in love with Alicent, but I think she's just looking for her own personal thugs.

Alicent never had physical intimacy with Larys, and she was being used by him. She had no pleasure in it, in fact she was replused by it. She wants Larys on the side for information.
