Beethoven put the "Feel" in feelings when it came to this work. It was strange when first published. But this and the other quartets he wrote after the 9th symphony and before his death. foever changed the game on how we want to hear a quartet. We want to feel it in our souls.

Beethoven's chamber music is for me the pinnacle of Western art. Thank God for Beethoven.......excellent performance.

This is a divine music which is very well performed, with grace, sensitivity and maturity.

A good rendition of this greatest of all Beethoven quartets.

This one of the sweetest preformats I heard in long time! Love the sound recording to! The left channel reverb just perfect and gives the feeling of the room. 2nd movement I have always love and if you listen about the 14:00 here the sweetest pieces of music ever written! To me its the best part of Beethoven 15 sting quartet! It can almost stand by itself as a movement? Pierre Colombet love the way you play that part and pull off very clean playing with your friends! You work together so good in that part!

Pour en constater la vulgarité propagandiste chrétienne ?! Huxley en parle comme d une musique ascétique ( comme peut être l arietta op 111 ou les variations op 120 ) , alors qu elle est chargée d émotions (a titre superlatif , si on considu les harmonies de la section entre les sections rapides.).

Beaucoup diront grande performance, moi je dis beaucoup de souffrance, mais beaucoup d'espoir... C'est Beethoven.

The last quartets of Beethoven are widely acknowledged as the greatest ever composed - perhaps with Bartok's. It is hard to explain why, but it is easy to understand that when listening to an excellent interpretation such as offererd by the Ebene quartet. Their rendering of the "cantus firmus" in the slow movement is particularly noticeable.

I say I find his influence more beautiful. At the time his music and last quartets were ahead of his time, but mendelssohn took it and analyzed it to write his string quartet no. 2 in a minor, a veryyyyyyyyy lovely piece

Déjà, dans mes tendres années, quand je sus qu'il les composa alors qu'il était déjà sourd...et à leur écoute...je compris qu'il entendait cette musique intérieure...jours et nuits...pour compenser sa surdité...et que ces dernières oeuvres...sont sans conteste...le génie INTIME du Créateur avec le Créateur. Transcendance...certes. Communion...assurément. Connection directe avec l'infini Total...nuls doutes. They are, if i may, no harder to explain than... Ludwig was on the last leg of a MAJOR psychedelic trip in the Universe...on Earth. Voilà. Au plaisir de vous lire à nouveau...

Cela a été débattu des centaines de fois dans la littérature, de Romain Rolland et Chantavoine à Boucourechliev en passant par le très intéressant livre de Kerman. Il y a dans le dernier Beethoven une sorte de transcendance entre des formes établies et un manière qui lui est propre de les prendre par le cou et de les plier à sa volonté. Ainsi, pour en rester à ce quatuor, le premier mouvement est à la fois ample et aéré. Comme dans la IX° syphonie, le '2° thème' est à la tonalité usuelle du relatif majeur de la sous-dominante, ce qui implique une chute de tension au lieu de la tension liée à la région de la dominante, pour laquelle il utilise parfois une tonalité de substitution (op. 31 n°1, op. 57) mais toujours dans la région de la dominante. Comme dans le quatuor en Ut# mineur, dans le second mouvement, il n'arrête pas de réassimiler le K. 464 en La de Mozart ce qu'il fit dès l'op. 18. le troisième mouvement alterne choral et sorte de scherzino en Ré majeur, en créant une forme articulée en 2 volets comme, dans un autre genre, le mouvement lent de la IX° symphonie voire le dernier mouvent de la sonate en La bémol majeur, qui fait aly terner arioso dolente et fugue, droite et inversée. . Jusque là, le quatuor, fort beau, s'était défié d'une certaine forme de lyrisme en 'vagues rythmiques' que l'on rencontre avec surprise dans le dernier mouvement, un rondo-sonate assez régulier. Ein tiefgehendes Klangerlebnis, das ich soeben sehr ergriffen in BY 4 gehört habe und bis jetzt der Überzeugung war, dass das nur von Franz Schubert sein kann, aber am Schluss des Adagio's kamen mir erste Zweifel, weil diese nicht enden wollenden letzten Takte eigentlich mehr auf Beethoven deuten. Und siehe da: Beethoven komponierte dieses Werk 1825, während Schubert sein sehr ähnliches C-Dur Quintett erst 1828 schrieb, das dann auch noch 50 Jahre verschollen blieb. Facit: Entweder hat Schubert gewaltig abgekupfert oder "sein" C-Dur Quintett ist gar nicht von ihm, sondern von Beethoven. Beide Werke sind auf jeden Fall himmlische Kreationen, aber, wie gesagt, sehr ähnlich.

Ah ! but no ... your perception has fooled you... poor balcony dweller on the other side of desire... let me reassure you...( i know something of this.. ) you were indeed on the right balcony...for on the other with the magical reflection...everything was roasting and sweating like a pig...save the fact there might be artificially cooled mutants behind the glass. So, the sun's reflection was on your crumb, really.
