Stroud hasn't shown to be quite as good as purdy can be yet.. they play in the same basic offensive scheme too, which I whybthr play the game simularly.. He's always appeared that way to me, too, since the day he became a 49er to his regular interviews with Tolbert and Copes; smart, funny and gracious. And his quote about the Cowboys is one of the all-time great comments. ""The Cowboys constantly believe they're the greatest. I mean, it's amazing," Young told Mathai in an exclusive interview. "Like, 'I got a star on my helmet. I'm great!' You're like, 'No, you're not! You're not.' And I think one of the issues that they have as an organization -- and it's hard to overcome -- is that they're great when they put the helmet on. But they're not, and it's hard to go actually earn the right that you think you already have. I think it's messed them up a little bit. It's difficult. It makes it complicated, because everyone else is totally on merit, [whereas] the Cowboys show up and it's like, 'Well, we're the Cowboys.' Well, no one cares." 🤣

I actually got a bit teared up watching this. Steve is why I'm a niner fan. I was born in '81 and don't have many memories of Joe because I was so young. I'm also from Utah, and I know that has to be a part of it! The reasons kids choose a team I guess 😆 But I've been a fan ever since. I've become a huge fan of Brock now also. I love how he owns his faith. I love how he is not afraid of failing. What an incredible gift to have at such a young age. Our Niners are so blessed to have him!

I was born in 1980, but I do remember Joe. The Montana Rice connection was the reason I became a niner fan. but once Young took over he became my favorite qb of all time. Plus I'm from Connecticut. He was born and raised in Utah, but went to high school in Greenwich. CT. So I completely agree with you, that's the reason why kids become fans of certain players. Steve is our hometown hero

That's precisely why the media hates him so. It's because he is a Christian. He's not running around beating everyone over he head with his faith. He just lets the Spirit shine in his actions. I hope the Super Bowl winds up the Niners against the Texans. Two young, talented, God-fearing QBs. Very refreshing. 😊
