The cord is to be wrapped into a circle and placed over the handle until later use. With this vacuum, the hose tool needs to be used on hard floors. Two hose pieces are included to attach to the hose to make it long enough to comfortable vacuum hard floors. I LOVE this vacuum. NO DUST. It's the best ever if for no other reason. It vacuum is heavy and I had to get used to it and still am but it is beautiful, it works, it produces no dust, and I can add good smell to air as I vacuum. Did I tell you I LOVE this vacuum? I do.

I have one of these vacuums, and the craftsmanship leaves plenty to be desired. The rubber flap on the collection bin fell out, to their credit they replaced it no questions asked. And the second issue is the brush drive motor. The pressed on gear has a collar on it that exploded and resulted in the motor mount being damaged, leaving the vacuum unusable. I contacted their support again and was informed that because I opened it they would not support their product short of me paying out of pocket for all the repairs and shipping. My advice is steer clear of this as the quality is not near what they market as.

I have the Quantum canister cleaner, it's actually really nice but sounds like they really went down hill with this upright. I have a lot of the water based cleaners but don't use them much anymore, I use my central vacuums more than anything now since they clean the best.

I sure wish there'd have been a professional review like this 14 months ago before I got one. I know I'm in the minority, but I do believe in the water filtration vacuum concept. I'd wanted a Rainbow for 30 years but was not paying $4,000 for a vacuum! I really liked this upright version and I got it September, 2021. Luckily I spent less on a certified like new refurbished model. When I first got it, I thought it was the cat's meow. It really did clean extremely well. But over time, the cracks in the facade started showing. This thing is HEAVY with no carry handle at all, so it's a huge struggle trying to carry it upstairs and downstairs ugh. Then a piece broke. So, I got a Sirena about 2 months ago and I am so in love with it. Huge difference in performance, quality, air purification and it has a HEPA exhaust filter as a backup. Hoses are sturdy, a canister is MUCH more beneficial and it has a ton of useful, versatile attachments. Wish I'd have never gotten the Quantum X 😔 I know you're not a fan if water vacuums but for those of us like them, what are your thoughts on the Sirena?

With your Sirena, do you have a difficult time using the carpet power head? Is it hard to push on carpet?

Recently saw the commercial for said product. When looking at anything, I do research from regular people, not the company, before purchasing. So glad I found your product review as I really liked this sweeper. Thank you, I will NOT be purchasing. Keep up the great work!

An alternative that actually delivers would be the SEBO Dart or FELIX

That looks like a whole lot of fun having to clean all that gunk out of the vacuum every time I’d use it 😂 Think I’ll stick with my bagged sebos!

I know I always thank you for doing these videos, yet I can't explain how helpful these videos are! I would much prefer sticking with my Oreck, Miele, or 1970s Electrolux canister vacuum over this! Fantastic job!

I totally agree. My weakest vacuum is a Shark Stratos Ultralight Stick and it picks up far more than this vacuum.

So this machine is a modern high-tech failure. I guess if the designers had created an App for the users to install on their smartphone may have improved it.

I have one of these, the nozzle attachment part busted and the customer service as been non-existent, like that they don't answer their phone AT ALL. I've been trying to get a hold of them for months to replace the part so I've been stuck using my cordless vacuum on my carpets which is nearly useless. I'm sick of vacuum's with cheap parts, my electrolux broke in this same place 3 separate times which they sent replacement parts until the last time because it was discontinued even with a valid warranty!

I don’t know what it is, but anyone who makes a water filtration vacuum always seems to be some kind of hack company. The Quantum X website looks like something I just got redirected to as a scam product, the Prolux CTX has terrible website too. The Sirena system tries to sell itself with other appliances for some reason. The H2O vac (if you remember that thing) was As Seen on Tv-Tastic. The Rainbow is the only one with a cromulent website, but you have to buy the damn thing from a salesman!They all try to sell their products as some sort of cleaning revolution despite it being more of a gimmick than anything. Not to mention that they’re all built like pretty much crap and are all just trying to clone the Rainbow, which as far as I can tell, is still the only water vacuum worth buying, but even then, it’s price tag is astronomical!

I love getting paid by the company I did the video on.

The vac head does not swivel, which makes it harder to get around things.

They do make vacuums like that. I would look at a Miele C3 HomeCare or a central vacuum

Quantumvac does have a website listing history, price, tutorials and a whole bunch of testimonials (won't provide link but simply type QuantumX vac into a search engine and you'll find 'em). It sold for $579 but is currently listed at $349 (limited availability).

They're using deceptive advertising practices. They keep saying, "Buy now at $100 off" or "$150 off"," but the truth is the price has never been the fully-listed price. $399 is the max I've ever seen it offered. And they even have a "countdown clock," making you think you need to hurry and otder it or lose the "sale price." Total high pressure tactic. They should ethically be showing the listed price at the $399, then if they do lower it to $349 for a sale, it's truth in advertising

I read the reviews on this vacuum, they were horrible. Thanks for the review Alex, Iam sure you helped a lot of people run from this piece of junk.

Gets some screws install cord hooks. Then get a container for the water. screw it on the handle. Drill a hole in both dust bin and water tank. Get a hose and put the hose in the holes drilled. Then zip tie afilter on exhaust or maybe duct tape the filter on. Then you'd have a cfos.

One thing I did not know about when I bought it was they tell you not to use it if you have cats. I guess because of the cat litterl I like the idea of not having filters but having the water doing the filtering but glad to see the honest review.

Waters about as good a filter as air. If you have cats I'd highly recommend SEBO,Miele & Lindhuas all of which will handle cat litter with ease.

I’ll stick with my navigator pro duo which has barefloor feature that slows the rolls which half are felt and nylon plush

So glad I watched this before I even seriously considered getting this. I am not happy with our current vacuum but I'm not sure what is better. So I guess I'll be watching more reviews. Not super excited about that but it's better then wasting money.

I really think people see the disgusting water and think it’s doing a great job; irrespective of the amount of cleaning required. A bag vac is so much simpler and yet way more effective.

Very true....that is their big selling point. I got one in 2021....before this review 😔. And yes, the water basin was pretty yuk after using it. But it's starting to fall apart...poor quality. So, I got a Sirena water filtration vacuum last September. It's a canister, high quality, great attachments, and also has a final HEPA filtration at the exhaust. I don't like bagged, though. I'm mentally stuck in the 70s and 80s, when bagged vacs clogged quickly, lost suction, and polluted the air with dust and odors. I do know there are great bagged options now like Miele and Sebo, but I personally like the purified air smell from using a water vac. The Quantum X just was the all-around wrong choice. I'm hoping to be able to sell it and recoup some of my money

We have this vac. I like it but it's VERY HEAVY! Not a vacuum you could easily haul up/down stairs. So, I'm using my Kenmore canister vac upstairs and this one downstairs. Also, there's no where to coil the cord which is a drag. I do like that our house doesn't smell like dirty dogs when I vacuum!

I’ve never heard one of these before. I honestly though it would have sounded similar to a shark or something, not that loud deep motor sound. 🤨

I was just given one new in the box, never opened, which I didn't even really want. They were bugging me for almost a year to take it. I KNEW it looked like hokey garbage and wouldn't work the minute I saw the 'water' filter. Just like those trashy Rainbows. My old man sold those Rainbows in 1978/79 and even he said they were a scam. People would just look at the trash mixed with the water and were mentally horrified that all that 'dirt' was in their home. My friend's Mom got ripped on ShopHQ for $349.99 for this garbage. I'll just stick with my Dyson DC41 and Oreck for a back-up. This thing sounds like some real half-ass engineering with no brush shut off. I just opened the box and looked at it and put it all back in. It's pure insanity to deal with cleaning all that trash and nastiness everytime you vacuum. Rip-off city. Never ever heard of 'Quantum' before so I knew it sounded sketchy.

I’m a bit late to seeing this video. What a waste of money! I can only do partial areas at a time because of the weight of the vacuum. I also was unaware of having to disassemble each time it’s used. Since purchasing I have gotten two bad shoulders and have to rest in between doing sections of the carpet. Can you recommend an upright cordless vacuum that is not heavy and does a good job?

I have wanted one of these for quite some time. Thank you for this review as I honestly couldn't justify paying the price for such a gimmicky unit. If some company could create a good water-based upright unit with hepa filtration I would consider it. This one just is not that! Thank you again!

The Sirena water filtration vacuum actually has a HEPA filter in addition to the water basin for added filtration. It's not an upright. It's a canister but has a lot of attachments to use on literally anything in the house. I got the Quantum X in 2021, and it fell out of favor with me pretty fast after the initial excitement wore off LOL. It's not worth the high price. The Sirena, on the other hand, is high quality to me. Very sturdy hoses and useful attachments. The additional HEPA filter at the exhaust gives me peace of mind that I'm not polluting my air. In fact, it also has a separate air purification and aromatizing feature that I love. The price is only 1/5th that of Rainbow, and they sell refurbished ones also at a lower price. Sirena is the first canister vacuum I have ever owned in 40 years of my "adulting" and I'd never go back to an upright for my main house cleaning. Hope this helps!

I feel like their canister vacuum looked so much better. Cleaning this does look like a pain.... I don't think water/separator filtration + upright are a good combiation...

I actually did the same test and for some reason mine worked beautifully.. what’s your reason behind shitting on this ?

Really, did you get the same working vacuum numbers? Overall it is a pretty horrendous machine to use compared to anything else in the market. Sounds like you're looking for a purchase validation rather than reality.

Have you ever reviewed the Mach V1 ultra? It looked promising, my only concern is that there’s no hose. I bought and took back the bissell cross wave due to lack of hose and it wouldnt pick up dirt and debris in the corners and edges of my house. So no hose concerns me.

"Water vacuum?" Why? Seems daffy.

I clean houses for a living. I have a client who insists I use this vacuum, and I HATE it!!! It's HEAVY. It's difficult and slow to move when off. And the water canister falls out easily. The suction is weak, and there is no way to shut off the brush roller for hard surface floors. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT spend the money on this.

Canister vacuums are much easier to maneuver anyways. Just make sure you change your HEPA once a year with your rainbow.

Unreal I just bought this its coming Tuesday . I am going to tell them to return it. Waste of 400.00

never in my life i have thought that you dispose the water in your sink where you wash your dishes and food????? first of alll as a person that is talking cleaning that is the yukiest thing that anyone can do you could use the BATHROOM, omg!!!!! where you wash your dishes??? and your food the thing that you have done is insane YUK!!!! use the toilet!!!!! also you do not need a filter because the filter is the water!!!!!

Stay away from water vacuums. Just get something normal like a SEBO or Miele.
