Look, I appreciate the fact that action scenes now have to involve multiple cameras and rapid editing. Like really rapid editing to enhance the kinetic quality of the scene. But this is an example of pushing the envelope beyond comprehension. If you can't easily, and I mean easily, follow the action then its just a bunch of noise. And yes, its a bravura ending to the scene with Bond shooting upward to kill the dude.

@@stolenname94 No it is not. The problem with The Quantum of Solace is that the movie is an action packed from start to finish which shouldn't have supposed to be. Bond is not car chases, fist fights and gunshots only. It is a spy story. It also explains why Black Widow failed and worse than The Red Sparrow which was not even a great movie itself.

I believe this cutting style was actually part of the Director's vision. Whether the Editor actually agreed with this vision or not, he was essentially hired to follow a brief.
The quick cuts didn't work for this scene, but really worked for the Tosca scene imo. Think it's just too frantic here whereas for that scene it feels more like an artistic choice that fits.
I always enjoyed the end of this scene. The fight on the scaffolding is so fun, and that final shot using the rope to steady himself and shoot up at the camera is cold.
Man, some of the stuntwork in this scene is just insane. I can't believe Daniel Craig did that jump from the rooftop to the balcony (the one where he slams into the wall) himself.
i love the way the camera takes a hit @ 3:35
The cuts add to the frantic and chaotic chase/fight. If this was a one on one fist fight then I’m sure it would have been filmed differently.

That’s true. But the Bourne Ultimatum was so popular the year before this came out that they decided to make a James Bond film Bourne Style…and it didn’t work. Luckily, Skyfall was much better….even Spectre was better. Quantum is by no means the worst Bond film. It’s a unique film, but it’s also a huge disappointment.
My biggest complaint with Quantum of Solace is how short it is, especially coming on the heels of the longest Bond movie theretofore. It probably has my favorite David Arnold Bond score, I love the way the movie ends ("I never left."), and I almost wish the opening titles had come after Bond shot Mitchell hanging upside down.
I never understand the trick of how they filmed that scene with the big horse race event, because I got feeling that it was a real event and they somehow corporate it into the movie.

Good thing Bond sometimes has an upper limit of civilian casualties, because I totally forgot about the potshot one of them takes here.
Is pretty muck... however what is the point of pursuing Mitchell when the head of the agency and valuable intelligence asset are prone and injured? Surely their welfare is of much more import than chasing the assailant?
I don’t understand how this bit can be cut to shit and awful to follow but the apartment fight later in the movie is probably the best hand to hand combat scene in any bond film. Weird. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGufqNGLZNCXiZM.html

4:33 James accidentally shoot at the cameraman
Mitchell was my favourite character of the film, he was great. I emailed to see if they had a Pop! figurine of him and they said they didn't. I asked why. They said he wasn't 'popular' enough... I immediately responded by saying he was the best part of one of the best Bond films, and that I'd like a figurine of him to add to my collection. They responded, this time in a wordier fashion, that Mitchell simply wouldn't sell as he wasn't in demand. I was sickened. I was appalled. I refuse to accept this. Theyve done Mitchell dirty. Not popular to them, sure. OK. But Mitchell has a very large cult following out there unbeknownst to the clueless Pop figure employees. It was time to take matters into my own hands. After a bit of impressive sleuthing, I successfully compiled a list of all employees at the company. And one by one I began a quest of... err, 'correction'. Ok, in broader terms it's torture and intimidation through various means. TLDR; the Mitchell pop figure is currently in development ☺️🙏

The opening car chase scene and foot chase scene are so damn great. I like this sequel but the editing in the action scenes were not good. The song title in this one was bad too but however I enjoy to watch this one over No Time To Die. Only makes me like this sequel was the emotional in Bond character and revenge story.

This was such a weird Bond movie. But I can agree this whole scene was sick.

Why did Bond chase after Mitchell? Any Operative worth his salt would realise Mr White is too valuable a commodity to leave alone; no matter what his physical state.

I had no problem following the editing in this scene. They introduced the rodeo, cut to the interrogation of Mr. White, and eventually Bond chases Mitchell into the rodeo. You see the glass teetering; Bond leaps out of the way. What's confusing?

Sloppy directing and camera work. Worst part about this movie, the action would've been much better without it trying to be like the Bourne movies.

Like wtf does he ring the bells ? Wouldn't it make it more harder for him to listen to his footsteps and follow him ?
Quantum of Cuts
Personally I think, that a scene where bond grabs his gun and shot mitchell could have worked as a Gunbarrel sequence, Just like Gunbarrel sequence in Casino royale.
