I’m amazed after his massive slide he was still side by side with you. I would love to see you with his setup. Incredible driving by you 😎
Very interesting that his tendencies in F1 carry over to RF2; not always late braking, and prioritising earlier traction over a late exit, aided by a car that likes to roate.

For all tracks one of most important thing to get a good lap is corner exit speed. So everyone is doing that, Max just does it better.
During the first 24h Le Mans, that was red-flagged in the middle, Verstappen was about 1 sec. quicker in average than Bono Huis in the same team, so same setup. I couldn't believe it😀
Based on a recent interview, i believe Max practices for these Esports competitions all week, as if it was a full-time job - so don't feel frustrated if you felt like he can just show up and be quicker! 😀 As you're aware, practice is much of the battle. Congrats on your achievement.

He's not gonna slam Max. The last thing an eSports driver wants is to be on bad terms with a pro, least of all the F1 champion. Would be bad for his rep and career. But deep down any human being with half a brain knows that Hamilton should've won.

Just observing it looks like he's got a looser rear, lets him turn harder, rotate and get on the gas. He's prioritising getting in the gas early over corner entry speed when there's a long straight afterwards.
@classicjoker2008
2 жыл бұрын
Driver61 did a fantastic analysis on his driving style. Verstappen does rotate the whole car around the corner so when he does get back on the throttle his car is in a straight line and has more balance, leading to quicker acceleration thus the gap.
@savag.e7890
2 жыл бұрын
@@classicjoker2008 To be fair though...the way he gets it rotated in some corners is insane. 1, maybe 2 corrections in every corner he starts to lose the rear end, and he's got his foot back in the throttle when most people would still be catching the slide. To me, the amount of time he FAILS to lose when the car gets out of hand, is bananas.
@W0lf_91

Some of the best F1 drivers have a similar style, lots of rotation, early throttle, driving it on the nose essentially. Max and Lewis have very similar styles . Maybe why they’re so quick.

There's a reason why Max loves corners and really loves fast corners
Amazing laps to compare, Max is later on applying acceleration, he is a touch smoother on brake release on late corner entry
@isuckatthisgame

I would like to see Verstappen's telemetry. He must be having those short intervals on his braking graph where he holds the brake pressure at constant value before releasing it to lower stages until it hits zero...All in order to balance car's linear forces and preventing lateral forces from pivoting his loose rear end over pinned front.
His line was so on the edge. It's like watching me (1.8k) against 5k iracer. Every tiny space of the track build a huge speed gap on the exit of a corner.
Fantastic comparison! Appreciate time put into making this.
It's so amazing when Max makes mistakes, still quicker or up there. Imagine if he didn't, then you're destroyed.
Amazing to watch along with such a detailed description of the differences that led to both drivers gaining and losing pace. Really very enjoyable. 😎🏁🏁🏁
Would be amazing to see your pedalwork for a lap like this. Holy f**K Max is fast. Maybe a reason he is world champ
Dude that is so sick to compare yourself to him, must have been an epic experience! Great lap!
Max getting early on the brakes let's him take smoother turns and be on the gas early, that and he's super smooth in the lines even on the straights, also his car seems to rotate more mid turn. That's pretty much what I can spot.
Can we have more rF2 lap comparison like this please ?
Been playing acc on xbox. Jus5 graduated to my first gaming pc. Rtx 3080. Sp super excited for its arrival. Maybe dive into r factor 3. As well. Great driving, to think you are neck and neck with literallly 1 of if not the best driver on planet earth must be a trip!! Great video
really shows the best find the time on entry, it's so so so hard to get that perfect
Hi James. Could you provide the replay file for us to watch it in rfactor2?
Really interesting analysis. Good job!
Helluva lap James, well done mate!
Honest question - How did you do this overlapping comparison of the two laps with rFactor? - didn´t know the sim could do that.
@DanLMH

there's a tool floating around, VCR merge, its not been updated in years though so updates to rF2 can (and have previously) break it
Nice comparison. Btw, the right-hander you hate is Arnage.
Nice vid. Btw, the past tense of the verb brake is braked not broke...unless you broke your brake. :)
Does someone know what exact car are they using?
Wow you are basically comparing yourself to max I really hope you try f1 esports again cause u think you would do great
How did you do in the race
his front end bounces more, Maybe softer front with balanced rebound ?
amazing content. as usual.
Just a dumb question, why is rFactor 2 LMP2 times close to real life lmp1/hypercar? Is it just how the physics work?

They have a new tyre model which is still in testing, and obviously too quick
I mean, James you're already an alien. Seeing how much more Max is able to turn rear of the car with trail braking is just crazy. Especially with these cars.
was there any corner he stayed in between the white lines?
What a wonderful experience, congratulations. Like deployed 👍 😎🎙🏎✅

I cant believe he was the only one to use that line in the 2 chicanes, that looks op, when I saw your lap i thought you didn'take that line otherwise you would have got a track limit invalidation

his slip angles are crazy
what i notice from this video is that they need to be closer to reality w gearbox and add the rev block on shifting down. this is ridiculous as hell for a so called "simulation". you'd have broke everything before passing the first chicane irl^^

Come on boys, 0.2 sec distance is on the straight 60m spatial distance and it's 15m in a slow corner. People think that always the car in the back is better in breaking. It's not (typically), it's just normal that the spatial distance shrinks in a slow corner while the time distance keeps constant. See Ari's video for explanation...
