[Quake] Ontranto (Blind Playthrough, Nightmare difficulty, No Saves)

Ойындар

An episode of 5 maps set in a medieval fantasy world. Last release for quake from Robert "Fat Controller" Cruickshank.
First two maps, swamp and mines, were average, can't say much about these. Third map is set on a moving ship, which, of course, reminded me of Blood. It felt a bit empty at first, with nothing but blocky corridors, but it has its charm nevertheless. A downside of this map, and this project as a whole, is a lot of spawning enemies. I don't mind fighting a lot of enemies if the gameplay is right, but it's really hard to enjoy killing dozens of death knight with a super shotgun. After finishing the ship map there's a nice little town map with a lot of houses open for exploring. Map ends with two shamblers and an enemy which is somehow worse than shalrath, a flying shalrath. I'm really glad that enemy flew away somewhere and I could simply finish the map. Last map is chaotic and crazy arena with a lot of fiends, shalraths and a new boss enemy which seems to be way too strong to handle on it's own.
Overall, I've got mixed feelings from this mapset. While maps look nice, they don't play that well and there's barely any fun in them.
Got lost once and had crash on last map once.

Loved the use of DoE enemies. Man, the nostalgia is coming back in waves! 😌
