These covers are amazing! I have only one gripe: PLEASE release the tracks in a lossless format like FLAC or WAV.

I don't think the original can be topped, but I never get tired of hearing people try to out-do it anyway. Also, I appreciate the fact that you included the tracks form the mission packs.

This is amazing! It sounds different than original but you know it's Quake 2, it's incredible! Love listening to this while modding Fallout 4. Edit: Oh wow there is a mod to add your soundtrack in Quake 2, will start a new playthrough then. ;)

SO MANY HOURS spent playing Quake 2 in campaign and online death match. Thank you for creating this and posting it as well. Can still hear all the sounds from this game in the back of my mind. Good times, indeed.

This takes the original soundtrack, peels back the layers and strips it down to its essence. A churning war horse of metal, steam and mechanical precision. This is what I feel like the Strogg version of the soundtrack would be, and by that I mean. . . this is GREAT. Gets you pumped for firing the big gun, and hunting down space marines.

I love this, it's faithful to the original with your own touches to it. Excellent work.

@@HuskEkker Sounds like Steam handled it. Old games like Q1/2 had issues even with Win7 if I recall correctly. IRQ conflicts and runtime errors come to mind.

I was gonna say, the vanilla version that you download from Steam, unfortunately doesn't come with the original Sonic Mayhem soundtrack, but the different Quake I-II sourceports support the option to play or even add music to the game. Amazing isn't it! 🤘😈

Glad to see others with a passion for the best version of Q ever. I still remember the late nights circa 1999 on the Rocket Arena servers.

Pressure Point 1 is perfect, and even beats the original! It would be amazing to hear a 2.0 or 1.5 edition of this remake in the future, perhaps with more bass, instruments and sound effects :))) Outstanding job so far

Henirichs version of Crashed Up Again is my most played song in my Media monkey library. So good.

This is such a good re-work. The tracks sound like they do in my head! Heavy and dark. Awesome work!

I have been listening to this while programming for 1.5 years. Always gives me an adrenaline.

I can't say these are as good as Quake 2 soundtrack, but still I am glad you did this. You implemented a modern twist to the songs.

Been listening to these for four years now....the Q2 ost is my favorite of all time, so it gets regular rotation with the originals. This version of Crashed Up Again is better than the original IMO, and my most played song in my MediaMonkey library. With that said, it is near impossible to beat the original songs for the most part, and I'd say I'd agree that most of these fall slightly short of the original. But considering the tools he used they are absolutely astounding, and very close to being as good across the board. I am very thrilled he did these and generously made them available to us, as I've thoroughly enjoyed them.

This is really good. I agree with other commentators saying a little depth is lacking, but I don't see many others revisiting the Q2 soundtrack, so I'm thankful for what I get. EDIT: Coming back to say your version of Crashed Up Again is literally the best.

Real talk, this might be the best reimagining of 'Descent Into Cerberon' I have ever heard. Normally I'm really harsh on judging remixes of that song that change the opening synth. But your sound is just, quintessential late 90's scifi synth. Well done.

Sounds so good man! I remember reading in a gaming magazine in 1998 and it stated that Quake 2 was the best game in the world. But at this time it was like trying to get to the moon first. Unreal Tournament was right around the corner. But Quake 3 was like "thats cute and yeah it looks pretty but we'll show you how its done." Speaking around Unreal. Why doesnt I.D and Unreal join forces and make a new Quake game?
