You do an excellent job!! You look like a C 5/6 quad which makes t things you do all the more remarkable. I'm a T 6/7 para sinne 1980. I got married in 1991 and have two boys who are now grown men. We celebrate 26 years of marriage on June 15. I lost my right leg 3 years ago due to an infection in metal artificial bone from a badly treated broken leg in 2008. Losing that leg throws my balance so it was like going back to square one. So, even though I've been at this way longer than you're alive, you've inspired me and taught me that it can be done. Thank you!!

All thanks go to you!! You've cracked a tough nut with strength and grace. Keep on keepin' on! Your power chair is very interesting. What brand? I obviously use a manual. Quickie. They've managed to really mess up a good product bc they are geared towards men in that most are solid body where you have to take it apart to get in the car. I'm not going to ruin my manicure doing that!!!! Plus the footplates aren't remotely conducive for heels. Tragic if you ask me!!! 😉

This has made me appreciate that I can manage with ease even the simplest of tasks in life. Very Inspiring! X
I was 8 when my mom had a diving accident and broke her c6/c7. She is also classified as a quadraplegic but was originally diagnosed to not be able to move from the neck down, but with some miracle she got some use of her arms and hands back and feeling in her legs. I'm now her carer and I have been for the last 8 years ❤ I only just found your channel and I think your videos are really insightful and inspiring. Lots of love from South Africa ❤
You are such a beautiful young girl and so inspiring. What you are doing sharing your story and life are nothing short of remarkable. I think about all the people you will help with your bravery and selflessness. My 26 year old daughter has a chronic illness which leaves her bedridden most of the time needing my care. I’ve shared your clips with her and encouraged her to share her story to help others. Stay strong sweeti and God bless.
Hi Tiffani. I actually dont have any disease or any kind of paralysis. But i randomly found you when feeling down but when I watched your story and some other videos it really helped me realize that even when i feel i have lost everything i am shown that there are things about my life i should be thankful for and not take for granted. You're an inspiration and brave to tell your story and open up your life to the world. Keep up the good fight and dont ever let the negative People drag you down. Take care.
I feel sad that so many people are obsessing over her diagnosis and not what a great learning tool this could be for those with similar disabilities. This woman has worked hard and Im so glad to see her sharing the knowledge/skill she has gained with others.

And of course it needs amazing people like this lady, who have gone to the trouble of providing some pointers for anyone who needs them. I bet this little video alone has helped millions of people. Hats off to you.

Good for you for doing this. These tips can illuminate little things that can help someone new to a spinal cord injury. I was paralyzed at 17 and know how difficult a transition it can be from being an athlete to suddenly fighting for as much independence as I could get, and it’s tough to say the least, mostly mentally to be honest. So again, I think it’s pretty cool that you are putting yourself out there like this.
You are so beautiful! You look like a model and you're such an inspiration! A beautiful inspiration. You're helping many people who are dealing with life obstacles. And that's a lot of people! Xoxo

With arms, yes. You can be pretty independent since most of what we do relies on our arms and hands. Misleading title, tbh. But this is good for people who are like her and still have use of their arms.
@verawaters8787
6 жыл бұрын
Jessie James she is a quadriplegic actually, quad just means that the arm are affected too (which hers clearly are if you look at the quad-typical semi-fisted hand movements and muscle wastage from limited nerve activity). There are two types of paralysis, complete and incomplete depending on how severely the fractured vertebra damaged the spinal cord. And the second categorisation is quadriplegic vs paraplegic -quadriplegic meaning they have had a break in their neck (c-spine) which will affect both their arms and legs at that level. And paraplegic being anywhere below the neck (T-spine will paralyse chest down, and L-Spine will paralyse approx waist-hip down). So from that level the person can then have a complete (meaning fully damaged. No nerve conductivity , full paralysis), or incomplete (meaning small movements or medium movements with intensive physio over a long time). Incomplete spinal cord injury patients can lose their movement (like this girl who previously had more movement from Physio, before breaking her leg and having to stop for a few months). It takes a lot of work to activate those nerves and get the movement she has in her upper body, despite still being a quadriplegic. Were she to stop her physio her nerves would essentially give up and she would be in full paralysis until going back through intensive Physio as an incomplete quadriplegic.

This lady has an incomplete injury....this is why she's able to do as much as she can. .. The difference between complete and an incomplete injury is...complete injury is where you spinal cord is severed at the injury level....incomplete injury is where your spinal cord is damaged but still somewhat functions. I have a C5-C6 incomplete injury. I can walk short distances with the aid of a walker.

Kinda sucks she disappeared without a word. Like her last message was a comment saying her laptop or camera was broken or something and that she would replace it....and no signs of life ever since. Like I get she doesn't owe complete strangers anything but just saying "hey KZread is not for me anymore, I'm going to remove my vids and live life privately" we'd all get it. It depends on the injury location and how many are affected. Like 1 person can be a quad because it was from neck down, she has some mobilty in her arms. While person 2 is a para from the waist down, with ill function legs. It varys and some people can walk despite being para or a quad.

An injury at the location of the cervical (i.e., upper) spine in a patient like Tiffani leads to paralysis of the medial (AKA "inner") arms/fingers -- hence she lacks control of Digits IV and V (AKA "ring-finger" and "pinky"). Christopher Reeve, in contrast, had an injury higher up the cervical spine -- C1-C2 -- which is why his paralysis was (nearly) total, why he required a respirator, etc.
