Quadmula Siren F5 Split vs ImpulseRC Apex: Why This Frames Is So F#%king Good // MurdersFPV

I get a lot of the same questions regarding the Siren F5 Split so I wanted to put this information out there for others to see exactly what I love about this frame and what better way to do it than to compare it to the ImpulseRC Apex.
Give away is over. Congratulations to LordFPV and GloriousQuads.

I like the SF5 split and SF5. The way they give you 2 caps and the way the stack hardware mounts is DOPE. The camera plate is slick af. They did well

Good job my friend on getting them as a sponsor. I avidly have been looking at that frame and also run the apex. My deciding factor was ease of access. My favorite feature has got to be those washers for the tpu. And the sleeve over the 2mm stack screw. If I had to pick my next frame to build it would Def be this one. Keep up the great work my friend.

Yo bro! Awesome awesome review on these frames. Informative n no BS. Been looking at this awhile now coz the weight matches my frame of choice, the sabotagerc Dingo. But after some bashing the arms tend to loosen up badly. This tho, looks rigid AF and the arms are secured nicely. Love the weight and the sleek design. COG is low just how i like it too. Keep at it brother! Looking forward to more reviews and rips from you. And congrats again on the sponsorship my man! 🤜🏾🤛🏾

As someone that's starting their FPV journey I really appreciate videos and content creators like this and you that take the time to explain everything out in detail. Even for myself not having all the FPV knowledge I was able to follow along and understand the comparisons between these frames and what makes the Siren F5 better. I am certainly a fan of Quadmula now, I really appreciate when a company takes the time to develop a great product, and it really show in this video just how much better they are in comparison to the ImpulseRC Apex.

Good stuff man, quality content, super helpful as always 👍 I completely understand you on the OCD front 😆, it gets so bad that I fear for crashing my quads because they need to look perfect and clean, which is not a good thing when you are flying freestyle FPV, and something that I constantly need to remind myself of. Quads aren't formula 1 cars, they're more like rally cars, and I'm getting better, slowly letting go and just trying to go out and fly. If I crash then I crash, it's the only way that I'll get better.

i just had to repair my apex, and was looking hard at the siren f5 split. after seeing your review, i really wanted to try it, the main thing for me is the price. Due to import fees the price for the frame goes up to 135 $usd, which is just a little too much. maybe when the frame comes to EU ill try it out. or if I am lucky enough to win one :D The frame looks great, and the ability to go to a little bigger props, would be amazing. as i use a heavier gopro (hero9) it would be awesome to go to the gemfan 5236 again. but unfortunately they dont fit the apex frame. I had to wait 3 weeks for parts to arrive to the US and go through customs before I was able replace a single broken arm. In the that time, it was faster to transfer all the electronics to the Apex frame, and now my downtime is no more than three or four days when waiting on frame parts. • @MurdersFPV

So the thing I enjoy most about the Mini vs the Standard is the fact that it is slightly smaller and lighter. I use mine for more proximity/flow style as opposed to my normal SF5 Split for bigger open field/Sbang flying. Both can do extremely well in both areas but ultimately if you are the Mr Steele style of pilot I'd recommend the Mini. It's extremely nimble. Just be advised that the Mini only works with 20x20 stacks and the normal SF5 Split is for 30x30 stacks.

So I was going to make a tuning guide for Betaflight 4.4 but Chris Rosser dropped his tuning video and it's the exact same method I use to tune my quads. I learned from watching hours of Chris Rosser, Mark Spatz (UAV Tech), and the PID Toolbox KZread channel and Chris honestly nailed it in this one below. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pYJ1uJagqMLNcrw.html

@@MurdersFPV thank you! I check it out…do you have any idea how Alex vanover or other freestyle pilots mount their antenna? It seems like they use a single UfL antenna deeply stuck in a 3D print) that if you crash your antennas they don’t bend they don’t break….do you have any idea if I can get a 3D print for the quadmula frame? I also don’t really know what kind of antenna they actually use for the o3…I don’t like the long antennas anymore they always break….

@@MurdersFPV thank you so much! But be honest I know you get sponsored by quadmula, but I am not sure because the mini has 20x20 stack that is something I don’t really like…if this would not be the thing I would go with the quadmula but I think I probably stick to the apex again…. Siren F5 Split just seems superior in many ways, but the C-lock is a stand-out feature for an arm-breaking noobie like me. Although, hopefully it may not be the most used feature if the frame is as durable as you say ;)

The quality carbon mixed with the lighter average weight, which translates into less inertial force on impact, really makes a difference when it comes to breaks. Nothing is bullet proof of course but I've had an excellent experience considering how hard I've sent this quad. I remember the specific moment where I knew I was going to ask them about being a team pilot was when I did a Matty flip at a school and smacked hard af into the pavement ass end first and I just knew something was going to be broken. I was shocked to find the quad was fine and it just kept flying.

My favorite aspect of the Vega frame was the momentum generated by it and honestly the Quadmula feels extremely fast and the momentum is wild. 1. Less expensive 2. Better resonance 3. Easier repairs 4. Better quality hardware Those are the positives in my book.

To me the curved edges on the carbon fiber is a really big deal. The double-sided camera plates is genius. It should be the standard On all frames. If you’re in a pinch and need to swap out cameras, from another quad all the more easier to do so. I’m really that.👍

I actually had this exact situation happen to me a couple weeks ago. I broke the OG DJI camera on a previous quad and all I had was a Nebula Pro. I had to awkwardly "make" longer screws to hold it by cutting some non camera plate screws with my dykes. It was dumb and the camera kept slipping on any impact, even landing. 😒
