Qor Watercolor Grounds

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I do a review and introduction to the Qor Watercolor Grounds. Some months ago Qor reached out to me and offered to send me some watercolor grounds and mediums to look over. I was sent all three grounds sold by Qor. The Qor Watercolor ground produces an extremely smooth surface similar to hot press watercolor paper. Qor Coldpress Watercolor Ground produces a surface similar to cold press or even rough press paper. Finally the Qor Light dimensional Ground is a foam like substance that can be applied thinly or thickly and produce a three dimensional textured surface.
These can be applied to almost any surface and turn that surface into a substrate that will accept watercolors! My first instinct was to try rock paint but the pandemic hit not long after I got these and it wasn’t viable to out rock hunting from NYC. However I was able to apply to three grounds to wood panels and it was wonderful.
Application is easy. I used a foam brush and added 20-25% distilled water to the ground and painted it onto the wood panel using two layers. I waited two days between layer applications and a few days later to start painting on them. No water is needed for the light dimensional ground.

I found your white color pencil video and noticed it was from 2015 when I was done watching it. Crossed my fingers and hoped you were still posting and so excited to see that you do still put out content! Your voice is soothing. I've been super curious about the watercolor ground for a long time and really appreciate how thorough your reviews are. I've never been interested in the light dimensional ground and now I'm BIG WANT. So Golden can thank you for my purchase, amped. I've been using the Golden and Holbein acrylic inks as watercolor and think they'd work really well with all that texture. Thank you for existing!!

I had bought the Qor Cold press grounds to experiment with getting some texture to my watercolor paintings. I didn't know they had the light dimensional to give you an even greater ability for texture! Thank you for sharing :)

I wish stuff like that was around when I was a kid and interested in model building. It's awesome stuff and really useful for creative crafters.

Thanks for this video. I played with the D. Smith grounds, especially the gold iridescent. Great stuff! Sorry to read about Stewie, hope he gets better.

Thank you for watching. I have an upcoming review (could be a while though) of the Daniel Smith transparent watercolor but that would be better for using in books.

@@ColoringKaria Well, then he is middle age. I know another cat that is almost 20 which is the equivalent of 90 in human years. So, things will start happening. You need to watch for things as cats will not let you know they are hurting. Stewie can live a long happy life with proper care, just like us.
