Thank you for this. Well documented. I'm too used to listening to Mark Felton's stuff. I doubt he's covered this. I find it's not in the interest of most Brits to recognize this history that we Canadians seem to take for granted.

At the end of the day the QOR answered the call and questionable orders does not take away that their fight and loss of life would help inspire the union of various provinces into a union...the Nation of Canada!
The Fenians won the day , but eventually were beaten and surrendered to the British. They were disarmed by the British, they were US citizens so they were returned to the USA. Immediatly upon release to to the US, at the border , possibly at Niagara Falls , but i cant remember for sure, the US Army gave the Fenians back thier arms, as they were American and cannot be disarmed due to the 2nd ammendment. Not that many people know about these attacks or that the Fenian Brootherhood originated in New York City, the same day that the Irish Republican Brootherhood was started in Dublin, Ireland. Booth secret societies with the same goals.
