QMX QRP Radio Unboxing with Battery Pack

QMX QRP Radio Unboxing with Battery Pack
QRP Labs built this radio for me. I didn't trust myself to build the radio kit.

Love that talent cell battery I use it frequently. Congrats on getting your QMX in the mail! I’m still a few months out on my assembled unit (but I’ve built two of their kits since I’m impatient haha). I guess this answered a question I had on how the units come from the factory. My two kit builds I wired for 9v… so I can’t use my talent cell. I use a 9v 3ah Bioenno. You’ll get the hang of the QMX its menus are very user friendly and it’s a great UX. But I’ll admit I’m still learning things every day. It’s a phenomenal rig and the price is outstanding. Hope to hear you on the air soon! Subbed

I have an activation video coming out using this radio. I performed amazing using a EFHW I built. I would tell you to don’t hesitate just put the order in for the radio. I am glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for watching. 73s

I built the 40 Meter version of that and love it. I also built two of their earlier Models the QCX 20 and the QCX 40 before they came out with the QCX Mini. As you said the manual for operation is on their website. I have thought about ordering that one from them already assembled. Don’t know if I would want to try and build that one myself. Have fun. I didn't feel comfortable building the radio. It is well worth the money. I also enjoy the memory keyer. Thanks for watching. 73s

As far as i know, the talentcell is the only battery that you can really use with the QMX safely (other than 9v batteries) because unlike the 12v bioenno batteries, the talentcell is ACTUALLY 12v while bioenno is 13.8v. The biggest downside of the qmx is that you cannot use 13.8v on it since it would put out a power level quite close to the limits of the BS170 mosfets. At that point any variation on antenna swr would be enough to kill them.
