Welcome back to our channel! Today, we have an exciting video for you as we dive into the latest offerings from QMobile. After a hiatus, QMobile is back with a bang, introducing two new smartphones: the QMobile Phantom and the QMobile Fold. We’ll be unboxing these devices, taking a close look at their design, features, and performance. Stay tuned till the end for a comprehensive review and our final verdict on whether these phones are worth your money.
Let’s start with the QMobile Phantom. The packaging is sleek and modern, with a minimalist design that emphasizes the brand’s new direction. The box is sturdy, ensuring the phone is well-protected during transit. As we open the box, the first thing we see is the Phantom itself, snugly placed on top.
Underneath the phone, we find the usual accessories:
- A quick start guide and warranty card
- A SIM ejector tool
- A USB Type-C charging cable
- A 20W fast charger
- A pair of earphones
Everything is neatly arranged, which gives a premium unboxing experience.
The QMobile Phantom boasts a glass front and back with an aluminum frame, giving it a premium feel. It’s slim and lightweight, making it easy to handle. The phone is available in three colors: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Pearl White. The back panel has a gradient finish that changes hue when viewed from different angles, adding to its visual appeal.
The Phantom features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are deep, and the viewing angles are excellent. It also supports HDR10, enhancing the multimedia experience.
On the back, the Phantom sports a quad-camera setup:
- 64MP primary sensor
- 8MP ultra-wide sensor
- 5MP macro sensor
- 2MP depth sensor
There’s also a 32MP front camera housed in a tiny punch-hole cutout. We’ll be testing these cameras extensively later in the video.
Next up is the QMobile Fold. Its packaging is slightly larger due to the foldable nature of the device. The design of the box is similar to the Phantom, maintaining a cohesive brand identity. Upon opening the box, we’re greeted with the Fold, carefully folded and wrapped in protective plastic.
Inside the Box
The accessories included are similar to the Phantom:
- A quick start guide and warranty card
- A SIM ejector tool
- A USB Type-C charging cable
- A 30W fast charger (to support the larger battery)
- A pair of earphones
There’s also an additional protective case designed specifically for the foldable form factor.
The QMobile Fold is an engineering marvel. When folded, it looks like a regular smartphone, albeit slightly thicker. Unfold it, and it transforms into a 7.6-inch tablet. The build quality is robust, with a durable hinge mechanism that feels solid. The outer screen is a 6.2-inch AMOLED display, and the inner screen is a flexible AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels.
Both displays on the Fold are impressive. The outer screen is great for quick tasks and notifications, while the inner screen provides an expansive canvas for multitasking, gaming, and media consumption. The inner display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and animations.
The Fold features a versatile camera setup:
- On the back, a triple camera array: 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto sensor.
- The outer screen has a 16MP front camera.
- The inner screen has an under-display 10MP camera, maintaining the full-screen experience without any interruptions.
Under the hood, the QMobile Phantom is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on QMobile’s custom UI based on Android 12, which is smooth and user-friendly. We’ll be running some benchmarks and performance tests later on.
The QMobile Fold is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It also runs on QMobile’s custom UI on top of Android 12. Given its higher-end specs, we expect the Fold to handle multitasking, gaming, and productivity tasks with ease.
We took the Phantom out for a photography session, and the results were impressive. The 64MP primary camera captures detailed and vibrant images in good lighting conditions. The ultra-wide lens offers a broader perspective, though there’s some distortion at the edges. The macro lens allows for close-up shots with decent detail, and the depth sensor helps in creating nice bokeh effects for portraits. Low-light performance is decent, thanks to the Night Mode, but there’s room for improvement.
The 32MP front camera produces sharp and detailed selfies. It also supports various beauty modes and filters, which can be fun to use.
