No matter how good someone’s production quality is, I think what separates it is how easily digestible a video is. This was very easy to understand while still having that entertainment factor. Everything just felt so natural and I love that. Very nicely done, Avi

for the best youtube compression, render the final pass at 4k and upload that. There's 2 youtube codecs, one is shit and the other is way better. the better codec is usually automatically turned on for bigger youtubers, but you can bypass it by uploading at 4k res! also great video, love your work!

Such unique content I've never seen before. Lately all keyboard videos felt the same but this is a huge breath of fresh air. It kind of reminds me of like w zombie apocalypse video log, where the survivor documents what they've done since the last log. Absolutely love it

Unreal mate. Since your first QK vid, I've come back to your channel a few times over the past few weeks hoping for a new video. Never clicked so fast in my life. Keep it up, can't wait to see what you come out with next. Put in my order for R2 just last week, can't wait. Although this video has inspired me to go back to my old 8 year old Poker with Cherry Ergo Clears. There's just something about that old school Cherry clack that's so refreshing amongst the overwhelming focus on thockiness and creaminess these days.

@@AvinashKunjamboo they're a lot of fun! Tactility is somewhere between Cherry Browns and modern tactiles. They have that wonderful nostalgic Cherry scratchiness and thinner, lighter sound profile. I love the history behind them too, as they were essentially the first popular "custom" switch.

i like the scratchiness of mx blacks as well, although mine are well worn in and the audilbe scratch is gone for the most part. But i like it because it makes it feel gritty. Edit: i think chalky is a better word for it. Also its a consistent scratch all throughout thr keypress which is better than an inconsistent one.

Nice video! The QK65 was always my fav board but I never got a chance to get one back in the day and thock is my more preferred sound. I did the opposite of you, I picked up an Envoy which is a clack monster and tried to tone it down with some case tape & foams but I couldn't achieve true thock like the QK65 can, if only it came with the same silicone layer...

Great video. I think modularity and maintenance is important in all aspects of life, asides from just commercial goods. The fact that mechanical keyboards are popular for those reasons is a sign of good trends. I love your music choice. Could you share a recommendation on where to find similar sounds? Not for commercial use, but for personal listening.

Thank you for making the video, it inspired to try out the Cherry MX Black Hyperglide switches for my Qk65. I placed an order today, hopefully no delivery truck accidents. I have a quick question, when you were testing, how was the sound with the keyboard naked on the table vs. with the thin wooded board + deskpad?

Hahaha all good! Hopefully you enjoy and no truck accidents hahaha. Most of it is the issue of the table itself reverberating, so it does deepen in sound a fair bit - my desk is cheap as hell so really not dense at all, quite hollow haha

Thanks so much mate! Nah I'm not flush with cash like that haha - it's a sigma 18-35 1.8 but cine modded by PcHood Cinematics. Highly suggest you check it out - really budget friendly and built like a tank!

@@AvinashKunjamboo Ordering page came up a few minutes ago. Page is bugged currently with no option for plate and pcb, but they usually get that stuff sorted quickly. Less than $260aud for an E coating and mirror base is really reasonable

@@AvinashKunjamboo yeah i love it because it had a fairly unique design, a twist on the regular 67-68 keys layout, i also like the sound of Hyperglide Blacks but the scratch, i cant stand it personally xD hopefully this is not a 1 time thing, i sincerely hope you the best

Great video. If you're looking for clack, I would recommend trying a gummy o-ring mount board (like the bakeneko) with an aluminium plate.

Love the video. Just out of curiousity... did you try the Hyperglides unlubed ? To me it feels more pleasant/responsive and clac-ier unlubed. I get that people lube for the thock, but lubed for the clack ?

I'm relatively new to the hobby, spend a lot of time trying different lubing techniques and different lube types and even tho it usually makes switches sound more thocky it always seems to also change the feel. So I ended up lubing just springs with 105 oil. The hyperglides are probably my favorite switches so far and I find them sounding nice and clacky without lube on most plates, except for CF.
