In 1911 Imperial British census of Amritsar District (Shergill Population) according to Religion Sikh Shergill 14,480 Muslim Shergill 4,346 Sikh Shergill Sardars of Nashera Nangal were influential Sikh Sardars in Amritsar District. Their ancestor was Chaudhri Sarvani Shergill who held the chaudhriyat of all villages in northern part of Amritsar District. His great grandson was Chaudhri Chuhar Singh and Sardar Mirza Singh Shergill who joined the Kanhaiya Misl in 1752 and served until 1787.

This is the story i have heard from my father in law. My in laws s family belongs to this pind. After partition they got property in Patti , distt Tarantaran Infact They said Jiwan Singh was their great grand father and we have some old pictures also. Infact the family named My younger son Jiwan Singh because of the history . Is it posssible to get this gentleman s number,if he can send us pictures of the Quila.
