    +Tatsujiro Kurogane Phill is funny but I have it on excellent authority that off screen he's a massive prick. Someone I know interned at the BBC radio studio he worked at and Phill treated all the interns like shit, scowling at them and generally being rude. Also lay of Sandi, I think she's marvellous and the only female panel member who really joins in the rude fun. Victoria Coren is great but a bit prudish. Be all that as it may I love when PJ mocks Fry but its important to remember that people are often different to how they appear on set. Also, I'd throw Jo Brand off a bridge in a heartbeat

    +Struan Tyrrell The twat is a prick on screen as well. And funny? When? Where? On many occasion I've seen him crack a "joke" to be met with a pitiful silence as no one found it funny. What really winds me up though are the times when he has that smug, arrogant, self righteous smirk on his face as if to say "Yep. I do know funny I am" Oh well. Rant over. I apologise! I think Sandi will do a fine job as host. And I completely agree with Jo Brand!!

    It's actually irrelevant which moon, satellite* or indeed even star they are talking about. Unless it orbits at a frequency of more than 1/day it will always rise in the east and set in the west, because their way across our sky is determined by the Earth's rotation rather than their own movements. In fact, if the Earth suddenly stopped spinning for some reason (or was at least slowed down to east, as it has a prograde orbit, i.e. it moves in the same direction as Earth's rotation. *The natural ones. Most artificial satellites that aren't geostationary do orbit prograde, so they do rise in the west and set in the east. A notable example is the ISS, which has an orbital period of roughly 90 minutes and can be observed with the naked eye under the right conditions.

    What gets me is it took 1973 years and a professor to work out that one testicle was bigger and higher than the other. If every male is the same then at sometime in their sex life every mans wife must have mentioned it.

  • @harkerx9029

    @harkerx9029

    4 жыл бұрын

    I feel like the professor probably looked at more examples than most women, and some men hang quite evenly, and testicles also move so I'm thinking most people didn't sit and measure, they just went "oh look, balls" and carried on with their lives

  • @LynxSouth

    @LynxSouth

    4 жыл бұрын

    Besides what Harker X wrote, a great many of those wives wouldn't have seen their husbands' testicles much at all due to poverty/the expense of lighting, lack of good heating (staying under blankets, dressing quickly, effects of temperature changes), and/or religious strictures. Clear observation depends on proper height and distance, not to mention that they're naturally partially obscured, so casual observation isn't likely to make whatever relationship clear. Also, it wouldn't be sitting and measuring, but standing. Even if women did see, know, and talk about it at the village well, they weren't often taught to write until the last few centuries, even then didn't own publishing companies, and would have been arrested for obscenity if they had tried to share such information publicly. There was no legal means for the information to be shared by anyone except perhaps doctors until maybe a decade or two earlier than it was. Additionally, the "scientific method" with its emphasis on data collection to work it out conclusively has existed for only a small part of those two millennia. For almost all of those 1973 years, most women lived in agricultural communities where livestock abounded. Horses, cattle, sheep, pigs: there were mammalian balls all over the place, so human ones weren't special. And, once a woman became mother to a son, testicles became just something else to keep clean. Most of all, it's men and only men who are fascinated by balls. Historical and social contexts are crucial.

    Pale was "missing" vital organs...? Since when integrity of lower intestines isn't vital...? Also whole plot about current inquisition having something to do with spanish one is quite wrong. Since Sacco di Roma in 1527 Catholic Chruch wasn't in control over Churches in Spain and HRE. Pope became official enemy of HRE and Spanish rulers. You can see it when in 1536 there was a rebellion in Munster. Heretic rebels took over city, killed nobility and clergy, created collective economy, made women "common good" etc. Primary mission of Inquisition was to find those "fathers of reformation" which tried to use relligion as a tool for thier own purpouse and stop them. Sometimes by killing them. Black myth of this organization is more a lie than a truth.

    New York to New York does NOT count as "going around the world. I could have gone from Reykjavik to Reykjavik, and the journey would have been much shorter still. The further north or south of the equator you go, the shorter the distance.

  • @LynxSouth

    @LynxSouth

    No one specified "go around the world at its largest circumference"; around is around. If someone going New York to New York is competing against someone going Bangkok to Bangkok, then the second person has a lot farther to travel, but they are both going around the world. Also, nobody is going to be able to do it all at one latitude. Even flying in planes they'll be up and down the map yet still going through Hawaii.

    @@LynxSouth no OP's point is fair. If someone says they went to the north pole and then went "around the world", i bet you'll protest that claim. That would take about three steps. "Around the world" trips should at least cover the circumference of the earth at the equator.
