Please see the min and max values on the new merged layer. If they have the same cell size they should show the max and min of the combination of both. I would expect to see min -283 max 983.

I have that problem, even with same cell size, and i don't know how to fix it... did you find out how to solve that issue?

My two rasters remain, with no merged raster, in spite of the system telling me it is done

had the same, try unchecking "place each input file into a separate band" - that did the trick for me..

What to do if in raster option you dont have a misllaneous option

What version are you using? In recent version you have a search pannel on the status bar right corner, where you can type merge and find the option.

If I do that, this error shows: ERROR 1: Attempt to create 14080x-9998 dataset is illegal,sizes must be larger than zero. Creation failed, terminating gdal_merge. What does it mean?

As you can see, you Y size is negetive -9998. Possibly you have different crs?

@@Nina831 Not from here, butit has to besomething with CRS TRY AND EXPORT BOTH RASters to wgs84 and then merge them
