Hopefully NonstopDan's upcoming meeting with Qatar will make a difference with the Q Suite swaps. It's stopping me from booking Qatar as I don't want to be disappointed.

Exactly, these old style 777’s should be scrapped- Q Suites only with the high prices qatar charge

If I paid specifically for a Q Suite and got the older product Id want to be compensated.

I have it on authority of the server at Mimi's Bakehouse in Edinburgh (best scones in the world, for sure). It's cream THEN jam. She also explained, at length, the difference between butter and clotted cream. Nice video, enjoyed the tour of Doha, too.

Great video Stefan. Doha looks an amazing place to experience. Qatar is certainly the darling of the airline world at present, but they have become notorious for changing aircraft and it always seems to be on those flights that originally offered the Q Suite. They are beginning to get a bad name for this, and some are now opting to fly with other airlines, feeling that they are being deliberately duped.

Funny fact, I started filming for KZread just recently and my yesterday's video was exactly on the same topic: QATAR B777!!! I'd be so happy if you wanna watch! I totally agree: the old seats are actually great!!! I liked them more than many modern seats on other airlines (and also more than the 1-2-1 seats on QATAR which I'm wiggling on right now. The great q suite rip off, did you get a points credit for the difference in charge between q suite and normal business? More importantly, did milkshake enjoy her fight?

I had the same experience flying from DOHA to Amsterdam on 13 July 2022. The thing is that you have to pay extra to get an assigned seat. Subsequently, they changed the plane type and seat configuration (BUT YOU GET NO REIMBURSEMENT on your pre selected seat, which is substantial as I booked two seats including also for our return flight by the way). Worst of all, the seat did not recline completely flat and the in flight entertainment was not working. So we were relocated to another seat again and one of the flight attendants clearly showed her annoyance, as if we were over demanding .... how is that for a 5 star airline ?

Economy class is also super! I am 2.03 meters, and I have still a lot of space left. I can lay all the way under a seat. Food in economy is also really good. Its amazing.

Is Qatar economy much better than Emirates 777? The legroom on their 777 Dubai-Manila was VERY tight.

You actually booked QR816, the flight that's swapped out less. It has a swap rate of around 2/week, whereas QR818 has a swap rate of about 5/week!

Milkshake is almost always on the mooove! #longhaultraveler 🐮

I love to travel as well but have not been to Europe, Yet. I was expecting to not see Milkshake and guess she had her own private first class area with a "do not disturb" sign posted. She's getting pretty well known, you know;)

Smashing video Stef , you usual high standards . Now , let’s get this straight , as a born and bred Pom , I do consider myself a bit of an authority when it comes down to Scones yes Scones and not Scons . When the cream is thick , like clotted cream , it’s cream then jam , however , if the cream is like the Aussie variety , the thin excuse for a cream and more akin to Spak filler then it’s jam first . I hope that clears this important slice of etiquette once and for all . I hope you have a good flight from HKG to MEL and look forward to seeing that video .

Well, as I pointed in my recent flight-report video about this product: it's still a great deal since Qatar is always a great experience, IMO...

Welcome back you two....I stayed in Doha for 10 days for work and they put me in a "dry" hotel BUT across the road there was an hotel where if I remember correctly a Corona cost $30...needless to say I had 9 "dry " days after that.Good news re your luggage with One World ( usually they can do this because your travelling on the same PNR for the flights...PNR means Passenger Name Record and you will find it on your Itinerary somewhere!!) And yes the lounge is magnificent ! I thought Milkshake would be in 1st class? Jam then cream and a High Tea at a high altitude sounds pretty good to me!! Great flight again Stef and Qatar in my experience Q Suite or not are brilliant!! Well done mate ps 4 degrees here in Mansfield,Victoria (no air con required!!)

If you want a drink, my tip would be the bar at Noma - cocktails, beers (Asahi, Sapporo, Stella), wines, at slightly higher than Australian prices but not outrageous. Or the bar at the Mondrian served most common drinks. Or just fill up on hummus and bread like I did :)

Tried the swap from Q suites to old business class several times and YES it can be disappointing, but I still find the old business class seats very spacious and also like the open cabin and brightness of the cabin compared to Q suites. Just flew with a family that pre booked quad Q seat and was very disappointed that Qatar swapped the flight to old bizz class seats and on next leg the were spread all over the cabin, but in Q suites :-/ .

You never know with Qatar till the plane is at the gate. However, the best chance of Q Suite is to book the A350-1000 from Doha to Singapore.

What is your job and how do you pay for all the flights and flight reviews ?

Justin Cui / Yes they are, all Qatar Airways B777-300ERs/-200LRs will be getting Qsuites soon.

If the chance the aircraft from qsweet to normal seat Qatar air ways can change for free to any q sweet flight schedule this is new policy you have take seriously

Seems like a nice place, DOHA. Empty shopping centre ? I think it may have been too windy for people to go out shopping. Yes i have heard Qatar is one of the best if not the best. I haven't had a decent scone for as long as i can remember. Would love to know where i can find great scones ?. Thanks Stef

Stefan Drury why I asked was due to an event just about a week a go. People were hurt after hitting the roof of aircraft.It was an Air Canada flight from Vancouver flying into turbulence. My wife and I are due to fly to Canada in few weeks. It was stated the hurt passengers did not have the seat belts on.

You should reschedule the flight Il never get this business class if thry dont have q suites Il call them same day to make sure is q suites

If you book a Qatar flight and add your Qantas Frequent Flyer number into the booking you will earn Qantas Status Credits for the flight (subject to fare type etc). Check the status credit calculator on the Qantas website to see how many for any particular leg.

I booked Qatar to experience Qatar business but then Codeshare with Malaysian airlines. There should be a warning for Codeshare to make an informed decision.

Like what happened to me … my first flight kwi-doh on B777-200LR and now A320 🥲 and Paris-doh was on Qsuit now on old B777-300 business class so they keep changing the aircraft ..my doh-milan it was A350 qsuit now dreamliner Qsuit (thank God) so this is the problem with qatar airways they change and I think this traps for us 😂🤭

Qatar Airways always have the change of aircraft last minute. And so if you booked QSuites, which is technically about $100 more or so, you might just end up paying for nothing.

Qatar's change of equipment is now getting so regular that Q suites might become a figment of our imagination. It is annoying lots of travellers. Despite their other qualities.

Yeah, pretty much everyone we spoke to spoke good English. Some taxi rides were a simple “hello”’and “thank you” at the end, but restaurants and cafes etc all had English speakers (a lot from Indonesia).

Q Suits is such a scam. Ive been saving to travel first class for my 21st birthday and would have booked with Qatar if it wasnt for their appaling habit of changing them.

Thank you for your entirely shallow, culture-free, critical faculties-free assessment of Qatar, yet another middle east location built by slaves for the oil rich and a place that, as you accidentally illustrated (Doha) comprises giant buildings for the fabulously rich, linked by dystopian motorways but no actual walkways, pavements or any identifiable ordinary streets. All you can do is go from one air conditioned eye sore to another. Please do look up Qatar's wonderful human rights record while you fly back to Australia. Hope you enjoyed your utterly souless, obedient, critical-free trip. Don't worry about those pesky human rights abuses. I'm sure with your lifestyle they will not trouble you in the slightest.

fingerhorn4 ; Just...wow! Stephan’s videos are all about aviation, and travel in general. Such personal venom should certainly prompt you to simply not watch any of his presentations. Thank goodness he doesn’t delve into the politics of the countries he legally decides to visit, or transit, just as millions of others do.
