I was hoping for at least some seating options, but I guess the idea is that it’s a space away from the seats to stand and get your blood circulating on these ultra long-hauls. That said, I still think a small bench like Emirates’ A380 bar would have been nice to see. It will make the whole experience worth charging the premiums these passengers will be charged.

Well these long routes which Qantas is planning are business routes. Very busy routes and connects areas of importance... U can't keep well to do people some just basic service on such important routes... So most of the airplane cabin is executive and very little basic economy class. @@rjmacf0015 I think you can make an estimation yourself. In comparison to (let's round it a bit) 2 * 11 hour flight there are some differences. The "first 11 hour" segment has nearly the same costs. For the "second 11 hour" segment you are not able to refuel so you have to carry the fuel all the way with you. So the weight of 11 hours * 900 kilometers per hour * estimated 4 litre per seat and 100 kilometers -> it's about 396 litres of kerosine which you fly through the air instead of tanking at an airport. Additionally you have additional crew and can't sell nearly any cargo on that flight. Naturally the calculation is a bit different for the more square feet consuming Business and First Class seats but you can calculate with a hefty surcharge. Naturally if I would fly on that route and as an airline enthusiast I would buy it. But 3 days a week for years. I am not sure if it is the technical fascination which let's Qantas start this project or if any person doing the calculations have overseen it.

@@gluecksdrache2054 Thank you for that interesting and helpful reply. I have a personal interest as I have flown from the UK to Australia return 38 times over about 15 years in every class and know the routine rather well. I have done this mostly (but not always) with one airline which was not Qantas. The reason was that the Qantas passenger offering frankly was just not the best so this is a huge upgrade in aircraft choice and seating. As far as the route is concerned you'll know this is Sydney/Per/LHR for now at least. This is better than a non European touch down for 2 hours. Given the costs for this travel will always be very high it will be of great interest to see where this eventually fits given all carriers to and from Australia adding considerably to their pricing in the post COVID period. We shall see!

Great cabin! Only thing that buggers me with the Economy product is that there is no individual cup holder apart from the one on the table, would definitely like to have an individual cup holder like Singapore Airlines have on their A350's, just gives people more room when they're getting up to move around without you having to bother about your drink being knocked off the tray table. Anyways, still love the product and hopefully I get to fly from Sydney to London on these beasts!
That wellbeing is pretty nice!

So excited for Qantas receiving their A350s by 2025.
Wow! If you can get Singapore Airlines quality of service you are onto a winner! When I was a kid, our NZ friends used to come to the UK by boat - which was at the time the economy / mass option - taking 6 weeks or so. How times change to make the world smaller. Though no matter how fabulous the plane, your body still feels the time zone changes and doesn't like it. BTW who on earth needs a glove draw on a 21st century transcontinental airline?!
nice cabin
Wondering if A350 Crew Rest could be certified for commercial
Up front “yes”, Down back “No”…first thing that comes to mind for Economy is if your seat companion is asleep, (and you need to go to the chillout area) how do you get out from a window seat? It’s 2023 Qantas, surely aviation seat designers could come out with something more innovative than what you’ve shown for Economy? Sunrise flights will be economical for Qantas in overall costs, how about putting some of that profit back into your economy passengers experience?
OMG THAT LOOKS AAAAAMMMMAAAAZZZZIIIINNNNGGBG I WILL DEFINITELY BUY A TICKET FROM TORONTO TO SEDNEY IN FIRST CLASS
Interesting to see that they didn't follow Singapore and added a economy section. The first class reminded me starkly of Cathay's First Class so we will have to wait and see how they differ in significance.
A possible 20+ hours in that Economy cabin??
I'm not too sure if one can survive 21hrs in a fully filled economy class trapped in the middle seat.
The vast majority of passengers in Premium Economy and Economy won't get broader seats than now. Only 2 inches more legroom, really? Fun fact: Some airlines have 33 inch legroom in Eco even for shorter routes. 38 - > 40 inch in Premium Eco is disappointing.
First class, premium economy, economy, well being space looks awesome. Business class looks very crammed to me from the video.
When are they coming out? I’m flying soon and I really want to go there!
Looks amazing - will they carry a Dr for all the inflight Medicals
That premium economy bucket seat looking design, seems rather old school and bulky. Love the design language, at some areas remind me of Etihad colour palate. First and business definitely a step up comparing to the current design! Overall, it's quite an upgrade with safe choices. Still feels somewhat lack behind Singapore Airlines and Ana's seat. Can't wait to try this new product!

Not sure who the wellbeing zone is for to be honest. Maybe a smaller one up the back would be good too. Unless that’s the crew rest area.
How’s your ageing fleet of 737’s and A330’s that are doing international operations with no crew rest areas doing?.
For those worried about Economy, it’s not that bad. The seats are wider, and the legroom is much more than on other aircraft. Besides, with the wellbeing zone it will be fine.

They aren't forced to sit there - they could go with another airline and have stopovers etc. I guess for some, speed will overule comfort etc. I am in the UK but have a sibling in Australia - should I ever need to get there quickly from the UK (and vice versa) I'll now have the choice of QANTAS direct LHR - PER and then an onward connection, or LHR - SYD and an onward connection - think the PER route would therefore probs be my choice as I would need to get to BNE so may as well do the shorter long haul (16 ish hours) rather than 19 ish hours to be followed by a connection. But for those with family in SYD this could be a real bonus.
