For those who don't know Australia - there is basically only ONE sealed road between Perth and the Eastern states - that's like one road between Los Angeles and Chicago. And there is ONE railway line that only has a luxury tourist train service. So if you want to go East or West you fly.

@@CaptainPilotGerry had you gone during daylight savings, it would still have been bright in Canberra. There is this pretty good phone app called Nightcap which allows for better photo and video footage at night

@covoflyer, Thanks for the suggestion, but yes, it’s 2 hours difference between Perth and Canberra. We departed at 1pm but got to Canberra at about half past 6 which was already after sunset. I’ll check out Nightcap though :)
