That’s quite disgusting you know. I respect Sikyong Penpa Tsering but how can we, Buddhist and fellow people of Dalai Lama, even think to stop people from expressing they free speech. Letting people question president directly is true free speech. True speech is accomplished when we let people we politically, logically, faith and morally against to express they thought without fear. Respect to president Penpa Tsering is not law. Or any other official.

@@Tibetan-experience I agree ! people have every right to ask question and they should because it’s called democracy. Respect is not a law just like how disrespect is not law. Most of the questions that were “booed” had nothing to do with politic, logic and moral. Instead it was complete opposite and hate speech. Hate speech should never be tolerated! If this is the behavior of a so called “Nangpa Sangye” then I don’t know if those individuals even know the meaning of it. Again this is Q&A! Not a who can attack Penpa Tsering better. This applies to any past, present and future Sikyongs.

They came to ask question while having crunch of time ...and when they opened their mouth I waited and waited for theirs question before they finish their own story of pathetic journey of life. Is that how one ask question? Most of them allso seemed so impatient to jump 🦘 to premature conclusion.. they easily give way to their emotions of anger and impatience which naturally cloud their judgement..most of them did not seem to have came out of their home that morning with open mind but rather had already set and decided that they are right and sikyong is wrong: so their is no chance of understanding each other in any form of dialogue. It may sound paradoxical thay Talking is easy and listening is hard.....as we see in many initiation ceremonies and kalachakras...people hardly listen to Dalai Lama..they struggle with their own daily habits of coming first...they continue with their chitchats, fight for better place to to sit..and when tea and bread comes you can imagine what happens..people in this video are no different...they have poor listening skills..doesn't listen, doesn't obey.. Skips information because they are buried in their thoughts of how to raise question. Above all...Do not forget we are refugees..regardless of which side you are on DONT ACT SMART... Your smartness is costing Dalai Lama his peace and faith in us.

Some one who hates some one other with no real reason will hate that someone all the time. Even one gives millions reasons some same question, that poor guy will come to same pit. Pity to him. It is clear Sikyong Penpa Tsering la values public opinions but not of those dumb guys

I am really happy to witness how graciously sikyong respected the peoples questions. Very admirable and shows his accountability toward the democratic government. The host is pretty rude though and the audience are very bias. Citizens have the right to question the ministry and that’s what democracy is for. But also, the citizens should also understand that the questions needs to be asked keeping in mind that you are talking to a democratically elected leader who represent Tibet and not an individual.

The lady who is asking question to Sikyong la . First she should learn how to respect our Sikyong , secondly she should learn how to talk…

This is not good. Most of our elders are not educated enough in terms of formal schooling and higher education which is visually apparent here. But also keeping that in mind I am more hopeful for current youths and future generations. Younger generations are more exposed to different cultures, civilizations, modern education etc., which made them more civilized in nature. It makes me angry seeing how rudely some people ask question but at the same time I do not blame cuz you reap what you sow, meaning if you are not educated or learned enough, there’s nothing really much we can expect. P.S- More hopeful for current younger and future generations.

For the general public, I don’t support Sikyong Penpa tsering but I respect him because at the end he got elected by people. Having said that if he made mistake like saying Current situation of Tibet is part of China of course people have voice to go against it. Currently we have fully demonstrated to international watchers that we have full speech freedom, even when president doesn’t like people questioning him he asked people to listen I thinks that’s great. That’s shows he respects right wing people voice like me. Tibetan New Yorkers are quite side on other side, they tried to shut down opposition voice, we always have to keep in mind that true freedom comes with responsibilities. Responsibility to respect to those voice you don’t agree. Great that we have better democracy than us currently and that’s great achievement by people of Tibet.
