Got my g37 from Copart! Wanted to swap the motor and builder her up like a Q 😂 I love the Q style so I’m fasho getting one buttttt… my G baby has my heart 🥲💚

people beat the vr30 too much. then turn the car off right after hard driving smh.. but treat it right and it will be good to you. change oil 3k-4k miles. use 5-30 in summer 0-w20 winter. Heat exchanger and a catch can will save you.

this is true, IN ALL CARS with turbo chargers you have to let it idle when you finish driving it hard. Reason being is that when the turbo gets hot with heavy use, it uses more oil and it needs time to cycle excess oil back to the rest of the motor. If you turn it off, the oil sits in the hot turbo and gets burned away, leaving residue, increased wear, and decreasing your engine oil. The only solutions to this is to install a turbo timer or if your car has a dry sump oil system. A turbo timer keeps the turbos going when the engine is off, so they can cycle the oil into the rest of the motor as they cool off. Dry sump systems typically come stock in cars with turbos or superchargers, like Porsches.

reliability too 3.7 is far superior

Truth is, turbos are another thing to worry about. Now, most modern manufacturers have gotten enough to wear it's not a huge deal, but it can become a concern over time. The VQ37 is a proven engine and it is reliable so long as you're nice to it and take care of it.

I got the same car last july @70k miles.. had it for a year now and only thing that you really have to worry about is the valve body in the transmission. They usually go bad around 75k-85k. Mine went around 77k. Cost me $4k to fix here in NY, if your good with cars then u can replace for cheaper. Haven’t had any problems since.

Vr the world i got 80k on my 2017 3.0 bought it at 20k mikes n been tuned since just gotta stay on top maintenance but if u plan on boosting ur vq I can’t argue that

I got a 2016 3.0t from auction it got 34k miles. Fixed it up and using it as my daily. I want a 3.7 so I can make power cause it can nasty with the turbo

My boi your 3.0t can make 741 whp on e43 with vrx70 turbos by z1. You don’t need a 3.7 for power, you get it for the sound.

I would say look at the CARFAX and see where the damage was done, if it was in the front, be sure to do a long test drive on it and also do a thorough check under the hood for any leaks or anything odd looking

Their two different motors Also I gave pros and cons to having a VR30 so technically I didn’t bash them

If they are both running fine - 3.0 t

i thought that turbo were less harmful to the engine versus superchargers because they made less torque i could be wrong tho🤷🏽‍♂️

Supercharger and turbos can both be forced induction just depends on the type but for most vq superchargers they’re centrifugal superchargers
