I love the dichotomy of Lacey's voice. Such a frail sound, and yet so powerful all the same. A beautiful paradox.

I’ve been coming back to this video for 7 years now. This song has gotten me through so many brutal nights. Thank you Lacey for your beautiful voice. Arise will forever be my favorite song.

I feel that hon, this one is def in my top 5 most beloved songs of all time. Such a mixed emotion in good way every time I hear it. Love the original version too, but this particular recording just resonates on such a deeper frequency, and Lacey really killed it. On a side note, keep on fighting, it's worth it. You are smarter than you think, braver than you know, and kinder than you'll admit. You are someone's inspiration, someone's fixation and the target of someone's admiration. You are awesome, you deserve to be loved, you deserve to be happy. And don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You're doing a good job, even if it might not feel like it sometimes. Sometimes we just need to hear it, even if but from a random stranger, to believe in ourselves again. I know I did, and now I pass it to you. Happy new year everyone

the way she transitioned the different lines at the end was superb, its as if she doesnt need over laying vocals on album tracks :)

She never fails to put goosebumbs on my skin every time she sings like that.

flyleaf is a band that you can cherish and adore without being religious. I'm not religious but I am spiritual, and this band has always held a scared spot in my life. I have severe anxiety and it when I'm at my worst I can listen to any Flyleaf song and feel like there is someone else out there sharing my pain.

+Aatikah Bukhari I had an anxiety disorder for almost 3 years. From someone that had it at its worst, take my word for it when I say it gets better. So much better, that I appreciate my freedom more than most people around me. Ask at a pharmacy about Ativan. Keep a few on you at all times till you overcome your anxiety. Be strong bud

+Aatikah Bukhari Ativan isn't long term medication. It's to calm you down in severe situations. It allows you to push your boundaries as far as you want, and when it feels too overwhelming, you can take an Ativan and calm right down. I know there are tons of guides on breathing techniques and such, which after 3 years I became so practiced in, that I had a truck crash next to me the other week and I was as calm and collected as can be without flinching. Anxiety makes you so much stronger as a person. You're going to love the end result

12 yrs later(can't believe I'm typing that lol) still my fave Flyleaf song. Lacey's vocals were always so powerful omg. I remember listening to this all the time while walking home from school back when I was in highschool. Although I didn't mind the lady who replaced her, I was so sad when Lacey left. :(

2:50 - 2:56 gave me chills. her voice is so incredibly awesome!

Flyleaf is my favorite band. Lacey, Sameer, Pat, Jared, and James have got so much talent. Their music is passionate and so beautiful. If you ever listen to the lyrics very closely, it is something that just speaks directly to the soul. At least it does for me. Go listen to Freedom from their last album with Lacey. It is a work of art.

After all these years I keep coming back to their first two albums and this song in particular has taken on a significance to me. Those refrains at the end give me literal chills and awakens something magical and powerful inside of me. Thank you OG Flyleaf 🙏🏾🥰

Incredible... just remembered why I love listening to this girl.

what a sick performance. kinda funny how there are no stripped down acoustic versions of songs from rihanna, britney, fergie, etc it's not like they don't have a few songs that would translate well onto acoustic guitar. props to lacey. hayley williams, amy lee and others that know what it means to be a real singer.

it’s crazy how this band has hung in there in my life. i get goosebumps from most of their songs, and some still legit make me want to suddenly cry, which is awkward when i’m driving. i hope lacey and the rest of the band know what a gift they gave so many people. over time flyleaf has surpassed even bands like tool for me, which i thought was impossible
