0:48 and 1:00-1:01 and 1:04 you can hear a slight breath. If you listen carefully you can hear her take a quick breath in between the lyrics. She just has impeccable breath control. If you look closely at her throat while she is singing the muscles are engaged. I for one think this is a live performance and again, it is simply excellent breath control. One more thing, she is singing mainly in a very light mix/head voice, falsetto, so she doesn't really have the need to exert herself to really support those higher notes as you would see when a singer is belting. Here is another example of the same song and it is live kzread.info/dash/bejne/iKOHuM-rp8_cfbg.html. Although she does not have the same amount of breath control, you will notice that she is much more relaxed when singing in the falsetto (softer tone). Falsetto is often used as a vocal break for singers because it is meant to be light and takes the least amount of exertion to produce. Often people think that singers are lip syncing because they look so relaxed when singing in the the breathier tones of falsetto. I know it is kind of got off topic, but I thought that I would just add that. So again, to answer your question, it is a matter of excellent breath control.

@@NurJanah-fr1ry Yes it is. A good example is with another style of singing which is Opera. Go watch a couple of videos, one in particular would be Mozart's Queen of the Night Aria. That takes a great deal of breath control. It takes years though to build up stamina to sound this clean.

@@user-cl4ib6mv7j 黃霄雲年紀小小已經能夠很大程度上完成這首歌的確實力不容小覷，但技高一籌... 你確定你不是來為她招黑的嗎？我聽過她那版，多的不說，就說最容易分出唱功高下的最後一段("我左手拿起你右手放下你")，黃霄雲唱「右」字時聲帶已經顯疲態，這個字的真假音轉換她是擦邊球完成的。再來下一句"合掌時你全部被收回心間"，薩老師是強混（胸聲＋頭聲五五開）上去，音色圓潤統一、游刃有餘，黃霄雲也是強混上去，但是音色出現了擠壓的情況，顯然是到了她強混的極限。所以在兩位運用了同一種發聲方法的基礎上，明顯是薩老師技高了不知多少籌。你可以覺得哪個版本更合你口味，因為每個人的音樂口味不同，這也是音樂的主觀的感受層面，但是音樂同時也是有客觀的技術層面的。而在客觀層面來看，黃霄雲依然有很大的進步空間，而薩老師的唱功已是國內top的級別了。

Your interpretation is actually pretty accurate. Some of the lines of the lyrics actually says "holding the earth in his left hand, sky is in the other. The brightest lighting shines and blossoms from the lines of the palm""in one life, life is above the cloud, in another life is between the woods." Becoming different people, even animals, in different after lives, in one life one can be a beloved god, in another can be like an insignificant bird under the glassy sky. Round and round just keeps going and never stop. It's like the feel of Buddhism. Haunting is the right word to use. The singer commented:"the theme keeps repeating itself, reflecting the light of humanity blossom in the endless reincarnation." The souls are like energy in physics, they can only transform and lives in other flashes, when the flash is born. (unless they get punished in the hell) 💧

She isn’t singing live....big sigh.

Tbh,Chinese costume drama + bitter sweet love ost is best combination ever. Mostly some ending osts (the untamed ,Ashes of love etc...) are really hard to skip when you watch the drama and hard to forget after so many years. ❤

Surely it wasn’t live, cuz it was outside and the sound was not even one bit different from the recorded version let alone she was supposed to sing live. But she is still the best in performing this song.

Ashes of Love, the first freaking Chinese drama that made me cry, but BELIEVE me I don't cry especially on dramas and movies but damn boy!!!

To me since the entire serie of ashes of love to listen their songs every day, itaks me really deep to their world and feelings. Im also in love with Deng Lun like if i really know him hehe. i wish they can make another season of ashes of love, at least i can see deng lun there :( also this woman has an amazing clean and magical voice.

If you have watched her live performance in the Royal Albert Hall or other world-class concert halls, then you won't be surprised the second time. Her singing abilities are phenomenal, so are her composing skills (she produced all and wrote most of the soundtracks of this show).
