The interviewer: First we start with the name as the majority get mixed up, is it El Sheikh Abu Bakr or El Sheikh Sheikh Abu Bakr al Shatery? Al Shatery: This name is a real problem to me, it always get me in trouble, I remember once when I was a child and praying with the people in the mosque, after the isha prayers one of the people who were praying behind came and asked about my name so I said my name is Sheikh Abu Bakr Alshatery

Then the man started talking about Ikhlas and that the muslim shouldn't seek a reward from the people for his work and that he should only seek reward from Allah the almighty, glory be to him, and he kept on saying these wonderful things, so I took it as an advice and we love taking advices from people who like to advise and then stated the verse from the Quran "But you don't like the people who give advices", then another man approach us and told the person who asking about my name

Al Shatery: The story behind this name which was given to me is that my father's aunt came during my birth and told my father to call me "Sheikh" and the father's name was Abu Baker, so the name will be Sheikh Abu Baker Mohammad Al Shatery. Interviewer: Some producer they sometimes write on the recitation 'Fadilat El Qari' "The Reciter" Al Sheikh Abu Bakr Al Shatery".

that my name was Sheikh, the firstname is Sheikh, then this man came to al shatery and told him that the man who was speaking with you thought you were saying that you are a Sheikh as of an Imam, so now for anyone who asks about my name, I have my driver license in my pocket I simply produce it and show it to the asker, so my First Name is: Sheikh, Father's name is: Abu Baker, Grand Father's Name: Mohammad and the Family Name is: Al Shatery.
