2023年4月22・23日の両日、青森県十和田市で第20回目を迎える「桜流鏑馬」が、地元の乗馬クラブなどでつくる「十和田流鏑馬観光連盟」の主催により開催されました。「桜流鏑馬」は、日本でも珍しい女流騎手だけの流鏑馬大会で、騎手たちがその技とスピードを競いました。今年は、桜の開花が早く、満開の桜の中での大会とはなりませんでしたが、色鮮やかな衣装に身を包んだ女性騎手たちが馬と呼吸を合わせて駆け抜けると一気に華やいだ雰囲気になりました。今年が２０回目の節目で、それを記念して十和田市出身のタレント「りんごちゃん」が、馬場の安全を確認する「露払い」を務め華を添えました。
