No….you want a neurosurgeon to be great at their job. You shouldn’t care how if it’s allowing them to perform exceptionally. If you disagree, just ask yourself if you’drather have a neurosurgeon who is great and doesn’t eat a nutritious breakfast lmao or a half decent neurosurgeon but hey, they ate sausage bananas and eggs for breakfast?

Just because she's a neurosurgeon doesn't mean she's saved lived; technically it just means she hasn't killed anyone yet. It certainly doesn't mean she's a good parent: raising children is about as dissimilar to performing brain surgery as you can get. She said she gets an average of 6.5 hours sleep a night and goes into work after having taken care of plural children's morning routines. That's too tired to go poking around in MY grey matter, thank you very much.

I go to bed at 9pm and i’m up by 5:45 My wife makes me a smoothie that I drink as I grab a shower and shave at the same time. It takes me 10 minutes to dress in scrubs. By 6:15 I’m in my office at the Hospital. I open my computer and check todays surgery schedule and I make sure I’m going to have my team and my chosen anesthesiologist ready and waiting. I make my rounds in SICU with some of the neurosurgery residents and Neurology attending. Occasionally a procedure will necessitate a nuclear team that will implant radioactive isotopes into areas of the brain that had or have malignancy, when it is time for that team to take over we clear out of the area and take a break until the nuclear people have successfully implanted. Sometime during the day I will meet with family and patients who are about to undergo a neurological procedure due to A tumor, trauma or cancer. We also see patients who have been recently discharged so we can gauge their progress and how they are coming along. In the evening I will meet with every patient and answer any questions or any concerns they may have in reference to their upcoming procedure in the next day. The anesthesiologist will also meet with them as well as their social worker. I am retiring in March so I am starting to spend more and more time planning for life away from my life work. I’ve been a physician for 32 years and I am beginning to realize my limitations.

Relax people. People in the OR hardly eat in the morning, and we function quite well. The body gets used to it.
