I like this man. An actual masculine, no BS, Man. Listening to him talk one can begin to understand why his daughters are actual strong and independent young women and not the useless princesses seen everywhere today.

Was a Joy to see the Boss man (DAD) . I am 70 years old and i love this channel. I love hard work and really appreciate the girl's work ethic. I could not agree more with Dad's approval. I raised 2 daughters myself. Sadly, they chose good looking guys over responsible ones. They both had to raise their children alone. Girls don't sell yourself short and be fooled by Mr. Slick. Your dad is 100% right, and he only wants what is best for you girls.

I myself am a father of 3 children and I know how hard it is today to raise children well. But you are a really very well tuned family, where everyone knows where his place is and fills it responsibly and the father is a father worthy of the name. Yesterday I said to my wife that I happened to see a YT video of a Pennsylvania family where the children are cheerful and very well behaved and responsibly help out in their own business. A buddy of mine bought a little home sawmill, after i built my timber frame barn. I ordered lumber from a local mill. I liked his saw, so I watched some videos about old sawmills here in Maine. I saw your videos and said to myself, these women wont do much, I apologize, was I wrong! Im amazed at the work ethic they have and the hard work they do, and dont wear gloves. After watching the Q and A with the boss, I understand this is a hard working family. Hats off to you folks! Your videos are interesting and entertaining and I have learned alot. thanks and God bless!

As the owner of a commercial woodshop I love hearing him talk about the zero waste factors of the industry. I just realized they are only 2 hours or so from our shop. I may have to schedule some time to make a purchase. I'd rather put some money in the pockets of a family operating responsibly than our normal big name suppliers.

I just started watching this channel this month and really enjoy the different jobs everyone does. As time permits, I am going back and watching some of the earlier videos like this one. Thanks "Boss Man" for answering the questions and giving a history of your operation. Having raised two daughters, the boss is optimistic, that he will have approval of his daughters' choice of spouse. As my wife told me many years ago, it was not our job to approve of their future spouse, but to educate our daughters so that they would pick a spouse that we would approve.

Ok, I'm not in that age range for marriage and have a lovly wife. But we have strong boys ;-) ... I like the way you work and live together as a Family. You have the bibel in your live, like we do. We live in the mountains of Austria and drive 4 wheels on steep paths every day. I like your boss! Wood business is around us. We buy our lumber at the mill 2 min away. It's a live style - using wood of plastic - no waste.

This video would never happened unless Ken saw value in what his creative and industrious daughters are doing with this channel. I admire him for stepping up and supporting their endeavor. On a personal note Ken, my cherished daughter was somewhat of a target for good looking men who were players. Of course none of these young men were serious suitors and I am so happy to report that she finally went for a young man that comes from a farming background of several generations and they married ,restored a 120 year old farmhouse and currently are raising two precious little girls. I have full faith that these young ladies will attract the kind of young man that you will be proud to call your son-in-law.

Considering he’s uncomfortable to be on film, he’s quite relaxed about it. Comes over as an honest, down to earth soul with a good heart.

Money isn't important to this man for a dowry. No intrinct value of a suitor will be considered either. This man has higher standards. Good for him!!! Understand the uncomfortable about KZread dad ...I have seen a Russian dad whose daughter is on KZread and admit I have thought it must be very uncomfortable for him... The upcoming generation has been weaned on modern technology so are much more accustomed to using it.. I appreciate these types of videos where I learn something I didn't know. No politics, no drama, just useful info. It is possible/profitable to use the tree limbs for BBQ pellets? I know nothing about the manufacturing process but I used them before and was thinking of that when you mentioned no-waste. One safety note: I see hearing protection, heard on the videos that hard toe shoes are used, understand gloves aren't but please; "Eye Protection". Too long? Not a chance!!! Once again thank you for a great video. I had an idea the "boss " would be a very grounded, secure, intelligent and most of all loving man. I think I hit that nail right on the head. I'm sure there are a lot of very nice well intending young men out there that will meet you hotness requirements. However trying to find one that has as much love and devotion to you as "the boss" has will not be easy to obtained. It will never be exceeded!!!! Something to remember when "the bosses" thoughts don't match yours! I'm really getting to like this 2 vids a week deal 24 mins. is no way too long, honest.

Dang, Your father is very similar to me accept I create the videos and try to keep my beautiful daughter out of the pictures. He has, from his answers, similar or same values as I do. This was and excellent posted video. It's nice to see and it's rare to meet someone who is not only a great father figure, but a father is also teaches and fosters a good work ethic and the importance of an education. Wonderful man and family, great honesty and wisdom. Enjoying all your videos. I’m a 68 year old senior. And I was only 20 years old when my dad suddenly passed away. I was a young man who grew up without my dad. So I was fortunate to have other mentors and examples of good men to teach me. One thing I’d recommend for all young men. A book titled : Letters to my Son, by Kent Nerburn. It’s a wonderful book to help explain growing up, ways to live, how to treat women, how to be a good person, how to manage money and your life. Just saying it is worth reading.

Love the zero waste strategy!! We are pretty much zero waste at our operation in NY, if it isn't mill-wood, or firewood , we grind it for mulch/compost, or we most recently got into biochar.

Q8 is why I'm watching.. Don't work in the lumber industry, but do have forest & also watch how "logging" is done & SMH at the sheer waste. The "junk" that gets rolled in as brash is the hottest, best fuel & the "oddities" like burls, forks and whatnot often command the best prices if processed right. This is all part of schooling. That's what's great about homeschooling. So glad to hear your kids are home-schooled. We home-schooled our two girls. They both tried public school once. It was their decision. One lasted a day! She referred to it as "the jail." The other one lasted a little longer. We used all Bob Jones University's curriculum. Excellent! Becky went to Ozark Christian College for a year on a full scholarship. Homeschooling works! I knew right away there was something different about your girls. That was it.

There is a LOT of stuff on the Utube that lacks much substance, but you were awfully smart putting this together. I personally think the experience of working with my daughters was eye-opening and phenomenal! It really was the best to know a different side of your children As a professional firefighter, my working schedule was 2 /10 hr days and 2 /14 hr nights, and then 4 days off you go back to work! But the days off allowed me construction time! Basically, I worked on my fixer-upper house first, Working all kinds of construction! Years ago after retiring from firefighting, I built a house and all the cedar trims were cut on my Woodmizer with cedar from wood on my lot! I tried Vinyl decking for a few years but you ended up being a weatherman, Always worrying if it was going to rain. But ended up with Tiling and not just because my last name is Tyler? I really enjoyed most parts of showing them and then watching to see if they Got It! My eldest daughter was far more Artistic than I ever was and she had her own business tiling until she was hit in a head-on collision! I was very sad to hear that she can No Longer Tile as she can know longer get up and down off her knees because of Brain Trauma! My younger daughter was a trained sous chef and was between jobs and she also worked with me! We now live with her family paying rent and also renovating her new home! Which was the worst house on the block and nobody wanted it! What a Deal they got! My daughter could see the possible value of this house and had to talk to her husband, that this was a good deal So, she has helped me finish her 2 bathrooms in her new house! House, when bought, was 3 bedrooms and an open basement! We have been working on house for 2 years It now has 3 bedrooms on 2 levels and only have a new kitchen in basement suite to finish! I took a job at a wood products mill when I graduated from engineering school at age 28. It was on a 350,000 acre tree farm at Snoqualmie Falls WA. They were on a sustained yield program for cutting,( fir, hemlock and cedar) which means cutting at the rate of growth. They had a sawmill with 42 foot carriage with 9 foot band and another 24 foot double cut carriage. (the double cut, both directions.) They had a wood burning powerhouse with oil backup. Steam heated dry kilns, planning mill, shipping and storage, plywood plant, silva cell plant (landscaping), presto log plant, wood cutting yard for employees and 20 rental houses for management. They chipped the hemlock and fir for truck loading facility to the paper mills. This facility had been running since 1920 using all of the tree. They even sold permits for public wood cutting, xmas trees and cedar shake bolts. And, left the gates open daily for hunting and fishing on the tree farm. The timber was clear cut then replanted in mineral soil, with fir and hemlock. The planted areas were sprayed to keep the deciduous trees from shading the planted trees and the tree farm was patrolled for fire 24/7. I visited two years ago. There are a couple of buildings and they are using the mill yard for some kind of small car racing. The North end of the yard at one time was a Chinese worker town. I heard the tree farm was sold to a German Co. Should be ready for cutting a 3rd growth. Iguana

The exhaust brake mainly keeps backpressure built up in the engine thus causing slower R.P.Ms which in turn aids in control of said vehicle.

I am a late comer to your page, as a woodworker it came up as that is my main interest. I had a logger mill owner as a father. I also had two daughters, now grown. I like your attitude concerning the use of the whole tree. I understand about the limbs and the stuff left in the woods. I always felt that the best firewood was the limbs. I live in a pine forest area and juniper. I have used both as firewood. The limb wood is always the best, it should be sold as a premium. I like really narly wood, wood with decay, rot, and knots. I collect my own or use wood my father collected (a lot of exotic, rare back yard trees).

Really nice to kind of get to know about the your family and interactions with the business. I had already assumed that the work ethic was important because of the way that all of you pitch in to get things done. I am always impressed with the amount of work that the girls in particular do as I doubt that most young men now would even consider the same jobs.

We lived on Snow Hill in the Poconos. We know exactly what you are talking about with respect to off road delivery. Fortunately we had 4 acres of forest and did all our own firewood. Love your videos.

I watch another KZread channel called the essential Craftsman and he goes in to why he built his work truck the way he built it and why it is 4 wheel drive ,mainly because of the low range and the ease of getting around with it Excellent video enjoy watching all of them
