Hello Valerie, I lived on the southern coast of Maine (Wells) USA as well. I moved back to Massachusetts in November and am missing the ocean, especially on a day like today. It was 91 degrees in my new Massachusetts town. I also collected rocks (on Drake's Island) for my gardens. I miss my ocean view.

My daughter asked me before “Why are you always humming? It’s so annoying!” 🤭 I’d be willing to bet that she does now too when she is alone. I miss my vegetable garden but not canning them all. Oh Alla I had to pick the berries all summer too! But you know, the chores we do as children teach us good work ethic and you have that. If parents do not give the children responsibility, they are less motivated to take on a project like your house later in life. You learn to preserver, to take joy in work and to find solutions when there is a problem, not to just give up. It is a delight to see mother and daughter such good friends, and isn’t it funny to notice how much you are similar to your parents!

Again.. as children. We picked many of our raspberries. And sold them in pints & quart containers. This how I learned to make change. Along with wheel barrels of fallen tree limbs for $1.00. For the summer beach renters. For their fireplaces. We were very busy growing up in Scarborough Maine. / Higgins Beach.

My daughter asked me before “Why are you always humming? It’s so annoying!” 🤭 I’d be willing to bet that she does now too when she is alone. I miss my vegetable garden but not canning them all. It was always such hot work 🥵 It definitely tasted better than store bought though! Thanks for the video, you really made me smile 😊

Oh Alla I had to pick the berries all summer too! But you know, the chores we do as children teach us good work ethic and you have that. If parents do not give the children responsibility, they are less motivated to take on a project like your house later in life. You learn to preserver, to take joy in work and to find solutions when there is a problem, not to just give up. It is a delight to see mother and daughter such good friends, and isn’t it funny to notice how much you are similar to your parents!

This was so beautiful to watch. I loved hearing what your mom's life is like at home with your dad. She is such a bright light. I can understand why she loved working with children. Again.. as children. We picked many of our raspberries. And sold them in pints & quart containers. This how I learned to make change. Along with wheel barrels of fallen tree limbs for $1.00. For the summer beach renters. For their fireplaces. We were very busy growing up in Scarborough Maine. / Higgins Beach.

We are also so impressed with you and your husband and how much you both have accomplished with no experience or knowledge. Yes, you showed anything can be done if you set your mind to it.
