Haha I’m that customer “I’m just looking” even though I have a huge collection of BBW but I have social anxiety 😅 And I also agree about the exchange policy. I hate to see people abuse it and make tik toks on how to get free BBW and they exchange out burned through candles or products used almost completely up or products that are like 3+ years old. Just because a company has a good exchange policy doesn’t mean to abuse it. I saw this video in my recommendations btw!

Hi again, and yes, I agree about the tiktoks...it's kinda tacky 😫 What I wish would be done instead is a recycling program where if you bring in a certain number of empties you can redeem a free reward or something! I love it! It's a great deal to reward the employees after a long, dreadful night of inventory (LOL!) and helps prevent waste! 😊

Im glad you addressed the return policy. When people abuse it, it just increases the chance the policy will become more strict. I also dislike the idea that people buy things 75% off just to get the lower price and then exchange them for scents they "really want" later because it's taking advantage.

I know that the other employees as well as myself would feel even more generous to help someone that was honest, fair, and genuine when coming in with exchanges, price adjustments, and returns. When it just feels like someone is trying to cheat the system it's just kinda 🤢...

I disagree. If the company is selling these products for 75% off and still are making a profit- why should I pay 5X more for a full price product? It’s not called taking advantage, it’s called not being someone who willingly pays significantly more

@@georgebalan6201 As an employee I don't actually mind people doing this that much. Especially if they are doing it in a timely fashion. 😊 My main thing I don't like is when there is product waste. If someone bought 5 lotions during Semi Annual sale at 75% off for example, then came in sometime like 1-2 months later to exchange for new releases, then more likely than not those returned items still can be resold. If returned any later than that, there is a chance we have to squeeze the returned items into the trash regardless of whether it was used or not. 😢 Definitely both sides to the coin!

I'm really late to commenting on this video LOL I have been shopping at BBW on and off throughout the years. I'm also a seasonal consumer. Fall/Winter is when I shop mainly at BBW. With the internet now when I go into a store I know specific products I'm looking for. I walk in and walk out with the specific product I wanted to purchase. Whereas before the internet you did not what to expect or see on the shelves so you would spend more time shopping/browsing in the store. It was a different experience before the internet shopping at BBW.

I am so happy Tina Maria shouted you out because you are so amazing. Thanks for your view. I could never work at Bath and body as a full time job because every pay check would just go right back into the company 🤣🤣🤣. I am hooked on bath and body. The candles are my personal favorite but i love all bbw has to offer. Its nice to see you have nothing kind to say about the company even after leaving. 🥰💕🥰

It really does happen! 🤣🤣 When you're surrounded by the products, talking to customers about how great they are, and seeing the sales go by each day you sell stuff to yourself all the time! Or at least I did! The candles are great, they make a house a home! 🕯 What are some of your favorite candles? Yes, I feel like I had quite a good experience at BBW and part of me still wants to work there. I definitely had a list of bad things that happened while I was there, but none that I really blame the company itself for and not enough to change my love for the brand itself! 😊

for the bopis question, it only counts as a sale when the customer comes and picks up their order. if they put in the order for tuesday but picked it up wednesday it would count for the sales on wednesday.

I worked in Virginia and Hawaii. I loved the geographic difference I noticed! In VA our best selling white barn candle was strawberry pound cake and in HI it was white gardenia!

Aww thanks! 🥺😊 I do miss it there and wish I could just do floorsets or something small to keep my foot in the door. I'm just running this YT channel now. I also have a handful of pet-sitting, baby-sitting, and house-sitting clients on the side!

I work retail, and people would buy board games at garage sales, or it was in their closet for 20+ years and try to returns them. Most classic board games do a repackage every so often, so it’s pretty obvious to someone who knows this. I’m always surprised on what some people do since working retail.

The coupon trick worked for me as well by using an alternative number:) Just curious on if you know when the new summer line with Vanilla Confetti Sparkle will hit stores? I know online the date is around May 6th but do all the stores release those products then? Or just some/ online?

Good, keep being that enthusiastic customer! 🥳 I know that part of it is, I was an extremely enthusiastic employee and sadly there are going to be lots of employees that aren't...they're just there cuz they need a job, not because they are in love with BBW like I am. Same goes with customers...some are mega fans of BBW, and others just need soap or an easy present for someone else. 😅 I'm glad using the alternative phone number helped! Shopping is so much more fun with coupons! 💸 I'm excited to get that patriotic collection, too! I'm assuming it will officially be released in all stores by May 8th, so long as the shipment deliveries have gone as according to plan. 🙏 I've already been seeing some people get their hands on it somehow though...maybe earlier for test stores or employees that are impatient to wait for floorset, perhaps?

Great video. I've always wondered about this stuff. I am sad to hear that the MOS stuff that wasn't taken was thrown away... I wish BBW would consider donating it to women's shelters or something similar. That's a shame that it goes in the trash.

@@MelissaC Omg I definitely loved the Fresh Vanilla...Rice Flower & Shea...Exotic Coconut ...Coco Cabana.. Isle de Tahiti and the whole entire Temptations Line..not to mention my Hello Sugar and Coconut Lime Verbena !!! What I miss the most is the originality when it came to their products they would always have something new and different never a constant repackage or similar smelling product with a different name smh!!! I really miss all of those long gone fragrances that had excellent staying power and would love for them to be reintroduced into the fragrance community un-touched lol!!! We really had some serious o'g heavy hitters and products to match especially my favorite body butters and bubble baths!!! Bath & Body Works really needs to open up that golden vault of theirs and let the magic take place...I could literally keep going lol!!!

@@takieshadavidson1440 Yes to EVERYTHING you just said! 🙌 I have a good amount of a glitter spray of Exotic Coconut that I will always keep in my collection just to look at! And Coconut Lime Verbena I used a lot too! The whole Temptations line was during what I call for myself "the dark ages" in which I didn't set foot in a BBW for some dumb reason! LOL so I totally missed out on those but man they look so good! Do you remember the original Tutti Dolci stuff, not the "remake" one they did a few years back but from the early 2000's? And those cute ones for kids under the name "Art Stuff?" It's so true, it's like they have rights and access to all of these interesting and amazing forms of body care (way more types of moisturizers than just lotion and cream) (also thinking about when they used to put body splash in cute containers like spray bottles with triggers and even snow globes!) yet they just do the same standard shapes and forms! Oh the shopping people like you and I would do if they did some of these things again...😍

@@MelissaC Omg you are definitely lucky to still have those exotic Coconut gems left make sure you hold tightly to them because they may never come back smh!!! I always loved the unique packaging they use to have especially the trigger spray bottles and the honey shaped jars of bubble bath those were definitely awesome....I do miss n will always love the original Tutti Dolci line right along with the body souffle's they use to have!!! That Temptations Line though OMGEEEEE....That was definitely one of their most exciting and EPIC lines ever because it literally covered all 4 seasons and had something for everyone one of the summer scents was called Sunset Mango and the ffm actually had little plastic ice cubes in the bottle and the packaging itself completely screamed island beach theme it was beautiful!!! I miss those 3in1 fat bottles that came with that collection because the scent was long lasting and the same for each piece...Even when they released Hello Sugar adorable short square bottle with a dangling rock candy type of tie on the bottle neck very eye catching and the scent amazing!!! And yes I do remember the body art collection lmbo and I'm sorry I didn't hoard any of it when I had the chance lol!!!! I just realllllllly wish they would re-release some of these amazing and nostalgic collections so everyone can see that they haven't always been the repacking experts they're making themselves out to be...smh!!!

Thank you so much for coming over to my channel! 🤗 That's a great question. I'll give you a couple ideas based just on what's currently available at Bath & Body Works, so not including past retired fragrances. If you want more of a sweet, candied vanilla pairing I'd give Whipped Berry Meringue a try as it mainly smells like cotton candy. If you want more of a sophisticated, floral vanilla I would try Warm Vanilla Sugar. If you want a more toasty, nutty vibe you could try At the Beach or the online exclusive Almond Blossom. Vanilla is a really great fragrance for pairing with lots of different things, so if you don't care for those kinds of scents I have so many more vanilla-y ideas! 😍

I was always amazed at the amount of self control and resistance my group of customers had...I'm like "you have the ultimate strength to come in to trade one item and leave empty handed otherwise 😂" It's all I can take not to buy more stuff even just coming in to work! But yeah, customers shouldn't feel bad about exchanging, I think it's one of the really nice things about BBW. It's good that if you don't like a product or scent, accidentally got the wrong one, or if something isn't working, that you have a list of options to make it so you're happy! 😊

I remembered when I worked last year, there was a lady who wanted to return her wallflower plugs. One of them looked like an a dusty air-wick plug and I pointed that out to my manager about one of the plugs don't look like the usual wallflower plug. Luckily the customer realized about the odd looking wallflower plug.

Most of us pronounce BOPIS as "Bow-piss" funny enough. BOPIS orders do count towards conversion most of the time! There's a total page for all transactions, and a separate page for JUST Bopis orders!

Lol I just say pick up order. I have a Bostonian accent so customers always wake up when they hear an employee call their order “bull piss”.

Great video, very informative. I used to get every set of coupon mailers and they abruptly stopped last November. I’m a regular customer to the point where the employees in my local store know me. I’ve requested multiple times to be added back to the mailing list (through the website, store, 800 number) and nothing has worked. I’ve decided to stop shopping there because of it. Needless to say, I’ve been saving a lot of money! 😊 I do love their products though, so I am hoping I start getting them again soon.

I have noticed a trend ever since COVID happened, the coupon situation has changed a lot, including, not sending out mailers for a time to some people that normally get them, no longer including the "thanks for your online order, here's 20% off your next purchase" after online ordering, WAY less if any at all email coupon barcodes...It's like they changed their minds about how they do coupons all at once it seems! I'm wishful thinking here, but maybe they are prepping to make the Rewards App available to all finally, thus doing less coupons? Just speculation! 🤞 The next best thing to shopping with coupons is to shop Semi Annual Sales (day after Christmas, and in June) and hit up that 75% off table...$3-$5 per body care item is worth it! 🥳 Thanks again for your comment!

Same thing happened to me. I used to get mailer coupons ALL THE TIME! Sadly after COVID-19 hit NOTHING. Even weirder, my neighbor still gets them?! I too have called the 800#, re-entered my info, even wrote the Official office in Ohio A very kind letter simply asking if there was anything I could do or was missing. I never got a reply 😅

When you buy BBW, do you do it in store? Do you pay with cash or card? I wonder if paying with card will give them more info so they can send you coupons? Just speculation. Or if you normally do card, maybe try cash sometime and give the phone number and email that isn't attached to your card so maybe it enters it as a new account? Haha trying to think of anything to try and confuse the system into liking you again!

I wish I worked with YOÜ when you were with B&BW💙💫 🌟 It would be So0o cool if B&BW would let us choose/make the artwork 🎨 🖼 for new items!

I collect body mists and over time I have accumulated a few ones that I want to exchange and I find it easier to do so at one time, is it smart to exchange about 5 slightly used body mists at one time or will that make the employees mad that I will basically get 5 new body mists for free?

If the mists are half full or fuller, then there should be no problem with exchanging them one at a time or all at once. Personally if it were me, I'd just do them all at once so that you can get it over with and the employees can just get it all taken care of for you. If I saw someone coming in once a week to return a body spray I'd probably start thinking of them as, "Oh it's that person that comes in to return stuff all the time" rather than you just takin' care of business one time. Of course, this is all subjective and at the end of the day, you should do whatever you need to do so long as you are being genuine and honest! 😊 No one should be negatively judged based on this and it shouldn't matter what you do. If an employee is acting annoyed by it even if you're following the rules then that's their problem they should get over! 😂

Can you return a gently used candle without the receipt? I have one I didn't like only used it a little but don't still have the receipt.

Lol, I actually ruined a wood table top due to my stupidity!! I just turned the table around put a doily on it and a vase! Problem solved, lesson learned!!

At my store, we had a couple of completely melted plastic containers that "wallflower juice" got on so those things can be evil! 🤣

How long does it take to move up in the company? And what are the levels in the store? Like is there a major Jump from associate to a Manger or levels in between?

Those are great questions. Typically, these are the positions available when working in a Bath & Body Works store, in order from smallest position/least amount of hours and pay to largest/most amount of hours and pay: Seasonal, Floorset, Sales Support, Sales Associate, Top Seller, Keyholder, Supervisor/Assistant Manager, Store Manager. The last three listed are considered a part of the "Sales Leadership Team" which is essentially just the team of managers. From experience, moving up within the company is pretty much only based on availability of positions. I was in a small store, so we had a very limited amount of positions (23 people was the max I saw on our roster, 4 of them were management, and that was even with holiday/seasonal hires.) I found moving up to be a tricky situation and actually not preferred by the company (which in my opinion is dumb.) It was really difficult for a top seller to become a keyholder, even harder for a keyholder to become a full-time supervisor, and pretty much impossible for a full time sup. to become the store manager. I think this was because if the store manager position opened up, there would be a frantic struggle to fill that position ASAP, and if they filled it with someone already on the team, then they had to worry about training 2 people. Not only do they have to train that person to be the store manager, but now they have to train someone to fill the position they left behind. They often would rather hire out a store manager from somewhere else and plop them in so that the rest of the employee's positions would remain the same. Like...I get it, but it also sucked because someone who has been with the company for a long time, understands BBW and Lbrands and their expectations, policies, sales, customers, etc, would be more qualified and deserving to move up to a higher position than someone who hasn't worked for BBW in their life, but worked as a store manager of some other random store. Maybe this was just the scenario in my store, but I experienced this problem while working there. I view myself even lucky to have gotten a manager position just because of how stingy they were about moving people up. (I went from floorset to sales associate, and sales associate to keyholder within less than 2 years. I was in the right place in the right time with the right amount of determination.) They act pretty tough when hiring managers, and do a lot of interviewing and selective decision making. They definitely don't make it entry-level. Also, this was during the years 2015 - 2019. Since the COVID lockdown to present, the mentality around hiring and promoting seemed to change a lot. My store in particular seemed to become more desperate as workers became more scarce, and I think they were more willing to move people up/not be as selective just to get positions filled. As far as I'm aware, this happened in a lot of establishments because of COVID. Sorry for the rant! 🤣 That's kind of my answer in a nutshell about moving up in the company, and as I said, this is just from my experience and it could vary depending on the store.

To those asking about not getting coupons delivered to you it could be going to your old address. I had this problem for 2 years until I realized this. Or an old number if you're not getting coupon texts.

I love the gourmond candles the best and i have a big collaboration. I'm Waiting on the new to drop. I'm not into these tropical ones

Me too...so many great gourmand fragrances! I especially love them in the Fall! 🎃☕ What's your favorite candle right now? I know, I like tropical candles pretty well, but I only like them from late June to August because that's when it's finally warm over here in Idaho! It's too cold for pina colada scents right now! 🥶

I ordered candles on line a few times and once 2 of the candles arrived shattered. I was told by CS I can just bring them into store to exchange. The staff was not at all polite about it even though I had the receipts, the box they came in and the destroyed candles itself. Made me not want to exchange anything again.

Why do they always ask for my email at the register yet I dont get any special email from them? Do they keep track of what I buy and what I return or exchange?

It might be for the app. You could have points & not even know it! Just make sure you log in with the same email/phone# you give them or else it won't pull up. Every $1 you spent=10 point. When you reach $75 (750 points) you get a reward up to $16.50 in value a FREE ITEM YOU PICK YOUR SELF (anything in the store of that value expect 3 wick candles) Hope this helps! 😊

If you're signed up for coupons it can help you get them. It's also for rewards, but if you have an email it's to sign you up for the emails! That's why if you don't have an email, they'll ask you "Do you want to add your email today?"

Yes, I agree with what the others are saying about the email and the app. Also, before COVID lock down happened, they used to send barcodes to coupons in the email...so it was more of a thing in the past that they just haven't been doing lately. Also a lesser reason for taking the email is that they do offer email receipt options. I will address this in a future Q&A in more detail of what I know. Thanks for your question and for watching! 😊

Champagne is a note I've noticed they've been using a lot lately, so perhaps they find it too redundant/not good sales strategy to have multiple fragrances with such close similarities. That's usually the reason for discontinuing a fragrance. It usually boils down to 1. Seasonality, 2. Current trends and popularity of a type of fragrance, 3. Too similar or redundant to a new fragrance they plan on releasing. I hope this info helps! 😊

Hi! Congrats on getting hired on for seasonal help! 🥰 My best advice would be to make your intentions clear with your manager(s) that you hope to stay on past January Semi Annual Sale and make sure you have the availability they are looking for. If you aren't sure what it is they need hours-wise, be upfront and ask! You could bring this up to your manager any time you want while it's not crazy busy with customers. If your manager ever asks you a question about availability or your schedule, that could be a good way to open the conversation with something like, "Yeah I'm available to work that shift. By the way I've been meaning to tell you that I've been enjoying the job so far and if there is space on the roster when the time comes, I'd be happy and available to continue working here past holiday." or perhaps, "Do you plan to keep any of your seasonal hires past holiday? If so, I wanted you to know that I'm interested in continuing past Semi Annual Sale." Then I would use this time while you are in the seasonal position to learn as much as you can. Ask questions to learn, always ask if there is a task you can help complete, or if there is a section that needs replenishing in between customers. Show interest in learning how to improve your tactics on selling to customers. If I were a manager trying to decide who to keep and who to cut past holiday, besides schedule availability, I would be looking for who seems to be the most proactive in trying to learn how they can get better at their job and who embodies their position as opposed to those who act like temporary help and don't bother to improve or learn extra because they know they won't continue past January. Is it illegal to dumpster dive a BBW??

Technically, dumpster diving is legal, but it can lead to other issues such as breaking trespassing laws and is often done for the sake of making fraudulent returns. (digging up bottles and trying to return them for money/fresh product) As I understand it, BBW does not appreciate dumpster divers and take policies regarding disposing of product properly seriously. If an employee were caught dumpster diving, or aiding in dumpster diving, my guess is they would get written up or fired. (The workplace version of going to jail LOL!)
