You should check out Steppenwolf .That was a totally rad band in the late 60s . They had a very political vibe about the wrong doing with the injustices of the man and the war and they were totally on point with MONSTER .You cannot have complete 60s early 70s record collection without a Steppenwolf album and you have to be Born To Be Wild ..

Not sure if John Lennon is the GREATEST singer rock/rock and roll has given us, but he's certainly one of them. Congrats Abby! Been checking out your channel for a while now and have been really enjoying it. Can only imagine how hectic it probably is to gather up all your research and info about the albums you talk about and putting it all together and editing and all, but the payoff is indeed worth it. And kudos to you for being a lady in your 20s in 2023 and having the hots for someone like Rob Tyner. We need more like you! ;) All the best. :)

As your channel grows, do you have any plans or ideas for other video series for any of the other days of the week? Like a [blank] Friday or [blank] Wednesday. I feel like here are many things you could still do as a separate series that’s music or vinyl related, like talking about major musical events like famous and/or infamous concerts, etc. or even branching out into a fashion history series. The Grande is where the phrase Sex, Drugs and Rock And Roll came from. That would be cool I could have hung out with Hendrix and all the bands. At the Grande fans had access to the bands.

Love the take on Beatles and Stones music, I totally agree. I find the Rolling Stones somewhat polarized people through their taste and music compositions, aside the fact that they were seen as 'untidy' and sometimes too harsh back in the early 60s. Personally though I find this intriguing and entertaining, so it's been great going through their albums again!

I guess I have two regret buys, that I can think of. 1. I went to a record convention about 20 or 30 years ago and spotted a guy with a 78 pressing of Audrey's, "Letter To Elvis"!! Had I been there or, at least where he found it, moments before, I'd have grabbed it!! The 45 is hard enough to come by but, I've got one...or two! Still haven't seen or found another copy of the 78! 2. When I first joined my band (Younglust, eventually becoming Thin White Line), our guitarist was a huge fan of Capt, Beefheart! So much so that everyone just called HIM, Beefheart! I heard some of their stuff (Troutmaskreplica) and hated it! UNTIL, I was told by the two lead guys in my band that they actually WRITE that stuff!! Then, the lightbulb went on and I really got into it!! Within a few months, Beef told my singer that I understand Beefhearts music better that he (Beef) does!! Well, his copy of Troutmask was on a cassette which was very cheaply made by Warner Brothers!! There were no rollers inside the mechanism, just two curved pieces of the same plastic the mechanism was made from and they were PART of the mechanism so, they didn't move AT ALL!! Towards the end of either side of the tape, there was this annoying screech heard through the whole last quarter of each side!! This was the sound of the tape trying to be pulled across these curved bits!! Eventually, the tape, itself, snapped and Beef gave it to me to splice back together for him. I did but it was never the same again. Well, I wanted my own copy of the album so I went to the local record store and asked them to order a copy for me (this was the early `80's), they did and, a few days later, I had my own copy...on Bizarre Records!! I just figured it's some kind of re-issue and I might never get a copy on the original, Straight label. I made the mistake of playing it, one time, on a slightly bad needle. Seeing as how Beef didn't care so much (he and his GF would sometimes put naked albums on the carpet so the cats could run up and jump on them and skate across the floor on them!!), I decided to give him my copy for his b-day and went to the same store to order another copy! Well, I got another copy but it was on Warner Brothers, this time! The early `80's label!! A couple years later, Beef & I got into a major argy bargy and he wanted nothing to do with me ever again!! Another couple years later, I found out that that album is NOT supposed to exist on Bizarre!! So far, I've never seen another copy and have never seen it listed in a record pricing guide!! I've since found out that one of those is worth a good bit of money! I had one and gave it away!! (By the way, Abby, I'm single, from the `60's and have over 62,000 records that you can listen to anytime you want! Hint, hint!!)

I was once on a true rust bucket of a ship with the captain pacing back and forth in the wheelhouse during a heavy storm, singing that song about the Edmond Fitzgerald, in between running to the window and screaming at the bow to "Come up!! Come up!!", every time the bow got submerged in blue water. I guess he thought he was funny or something with the singing. I held a different opinion.

Donovan-Henry Martin is an excellent maritime disaster song. Of course you have to wait until the the end to get the full story...

Great stuff because you do the research on quality albums, and then present it in an entertaining manner. Also, you are, obviously, rather intelligent.

I love your Beatles - spring/fall and stones - summer/winter comparison. I grew up in those days and am a big Beatles fan. I liked a lot of Stones' tunes also, but in the early days it wasn't cool to be both a Beatles fan and a Stones fan. (I know, weird as it is).

Hey Abby! Love that you paid homage to Purple Dancer/Dragonfly-two of my favorite (and most obscure) Fleetwood Mac tracks. Then Play On-the last album with Peter Green, 'n Kiln House-the first album without Peter Green-are also outstandin'. If you haven't seen it already I highly recommend the When The Levee Breaks video John Paul Jones made 'bout a year ago for Playing For Change featurin' a multitude o' musicians from 'round the world joinin' in for what proves to be a remarkable remake o' this classic track. Thanks for another great video!

That was great. A few things: the book club notion/community is a good one (I love reading through the comments as well as chasing up the listening); many thanks for mentioning Wash Day (a new KZread day-starter. Love it!) and finally a point of curiosity rather than criticism: you're the second person I've known to pronounce the Joy Division album as Clozer rather than Closser (either one works fine and the closing the door sense makes more sense but usage plus the more eerie ideas of getting closer to that music has its own appeal).

Another of the old one-hit-wonder songs that I like was "My Baby Loves Lovin'" by White Plains. That's was another Tony Burrows fronted group, like Edison Lighthouse.

Oh Abbxy Rhoades. Me too. Me too. How did you first start to accumulate an audience? Askin' for a frien. My favorite book is Mark Lewisohn's Beatles Turn On. I've read that very big book every year since it came out whilst waiting with fading hope for volume 2. We're getting old now. My 2nd favorite book is The Real Frank Zappa Book. I guess I should watch your dark side video. Piece out and all my lunch. Amadeus.
