Here's my take on your relationship. Both need to be open to each others culture and needs and find ways to adapt to it. Approach it with an open mind because your both are from two different cultures. Respect each other’s differences . Try and learn to listen to each other and find ways to make it work while being open about your differences with understanding. These are the barriers you will confront in life. There will be conflict of interest but there part of your learning process. You will eventually find common ground but it will require a lot of cultural sacrifices on both sides. Obviously you want to be together to make it work. I say don't have kids yet until you're both are happy and set for life. You will both know if you spend at least one year in Germany together and see what works on the long run there if you had kids then one year in fiji and see which one would work out best for you. Just be yourselves like you are now and don't hide anything from each other then you'll both be happy.

Thank you so much for taking time to watch the video and leave this lovely comment. We both agree with what you are saying - though we have already come a long long way and I think we will never 100% eliminate all differences - we just learn more and more to deal with them. We are already doing so much better than when we first started dating haha. Germany for a base is off the list as I do not want to live there anymore but we def want to leave Fiji at some point as I have lived here for over a year summing up my time. And kids... we def want to achieve more things together, be financially stable and find a good base before expanding our little family - fur babies only for now :) Happy Sunday!

As a Fijian who is also married to a woman of German descent, and for 35 years both living in Fiji, with kids and grandkids.....don't leave having kids for too long, surprisingly, they will bridge the interracial gap quicker, and better still, bring them up in Fiji. The kids have a better chance of being well rounded here. Also....very important...talk to each other all the time....communicate at all times. All the best in your chosen life journey together.

I totally agree with Lea on the Fiji time, can be hard to deal with but that normally is associated when you live abroad and one is used to the fast pace, it can be very annoying going back home and having to adapt to the slow pace which is manageable but people take it to the extreme by just not turning up on time which is rude! 4yrs and you are still together is great, Im sure you are learning to live with each other and embracing your differences makes your videos enjoyable to watch.

Isa, I admire both your commitment to each other in adapting to different lifestyles and cultural backgrounds which might be daunting at first glance. It is a big challenge for both couple's families in exception, but things generally get easier as time goes on, speaking from experience married to Rachael in England and living in the beautiful countryside of Somerset. I wish you both the very best in pursuing your dreams and hope to hear from your experiences soon. Vinaka vaka levu and God bless 🙏 ❤️

The main reason of having an interracial relationship/marriage is to learn new cultures and experiences from both sides of the family. Especially teaching both how to respect each other in their own unique ways of living and learning from it. It’s very important, special and enjoyable when you both experience it. Speaking from personal experience and if I was in his shoes, I’d be excited to visit Berlin, eat sauerkraut with German sausages and bakery, go to the Oktoberfest, learn German language and visit the historical sites of WW2🎉

That 1st sentence in my opinion is absolutely not the main reason for having interracial marriage. It could also be because they love each other and respect each other enough to put their differences aside and learn from each other... What you're saying is basically them not marrying out of "love and affection" but by benefiting from your partners culture💀

@lea&markabroad Bula!! New Subscriber Here! I just found your channel and had to subscribe to another “Fellow KZreadr” especially because it’s a Fijian Channel. I’m also from FIJI, Born and raised in Lautoka. I’m Polynesian but definitely Fijian on the inside. There are many FIJIAN channels on KZread but a bit “Nako . . kila?” You guys are probably only the second channel I follow besides the WAKA Family because your content is good and interesting enough for Me because I can totally relate to everything. Watching Lea make rourou was entertaining because it’s definitely a culture difference like for example scraping the coconut. Man I’ve done it all from scraping coconut to pounding grog for My Elders 😂😂 I live in California USA 🇺🇸 now with My wife and 3 year old son and We started a kids channel recently just for Our son lol 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, keep up the good work guys 👍 and remember “FIJI TIME and FIJI STYLE” are different 😂❤🇫🇯

Lea from what I’m seeing you like Mark but you have some reservations on him being Fijian. Enjoy your relationship while you explore each other’s culture. Fijians are laid back by nature and Germans are known for their desire to be seen as being efficient in everything they do. These differences will be the biggest obstacle in your future happiness especially if children are in the equation. Good luck.

Interracial relationship? Well you must know that Fiji Islands belonged to itaukeis kaiViti in their own villages provinces doing their own stuffs archaic in nature back in 1400s before European arrivals and Chinese and other races. So depends on how open and adaptive one is to anything new they get to experience. Fiji Islands still has rural living conditions even in urban suburban like we kinda literally modernized so fast in Fiji. Due to many coups happening people just living the way they want to live as many see it more easier and less stressful a lot hahahahahahaha. Yeah you guys great you be having more wedding anniversaries respect God bless. Yes take daddy Marika to Germany and live there for years.

Fiji is a developing country, and house rules and manners are some issues to be reckoned with. However, you can take a Fijian out of Fiji, but you cannot take Fiji out of a Fijian, we are happy people, and don't care what other people think, we are happy.

There's a reason why God Himself set up nations and ethnicities of people. With it comes cultures, customs and traditions, including their own Gods. All this would be lost if people kept mixing bloodlines. Not to mention confused children with two of each of these factors, and therefore reducing the importance of cultures and traditions. This is not meant to be a racist comment, if we see where this is all heading, with mix marriage and mix gender and so forth, it is ultimately to remove the image of God from man and woman. It starts of as something non threatening, but after a while the whole 'mixing' of things pertaining to human kind will ultimately be our downfall!
