Congrats on joining the youtube partner program mate! From what I've seen in the short amount of time I've seen you, you seem very genuine and you know your stuff. I'm doing my best to keep my videos entertaining and informative so hopefully I'm on the right track, I've got some more content on the way soon with the XR5 and hopefully some parts in the coming months. Congratulations on joining the KZread Partner Program, and hopefully your channel continues to grow... Please don't put camber on your XR5 if you were to go for a stance build as it will probably negatively affect handling, and as you said, it's not the platform for this sort of thing... Also don't go crazy on the crackle map if you were to get one, as it will turn your car into a cop magnet... Lastly, for those looking at buying an XR5, make sure it is well maintained with documented service history, and like any car, keep some money aside for mechanical repairs... Mine recently had a major oil leak requiring many seals to be replaced and also required a new timing belt, as a result of oil leaking onto it... Also, the turbo may be on its way out as well unfortunately...

Thank you Martin, I really appreciate your support 🙌🏼 I definitely won't be putting camber on the XR5, air bag suspension would be cool but it truly isn't worth the money at the end of the day, and I'll never load up a crackle map and if I were to it would just be for maybe one or two videos and that would be it 😂 And thank you again for your helpful tips for those people looking at purchasing an XR5, quite sad to hear that yours has had that oil leak and your turbo might be on it's way out. It's hard to believe how old they are getting now but when they are running right and with no issues they truly are an amazing car 🚙

​@@TheGearChangeYeah unfortunately the cam seal was leaking, oil cooler gasket, and a few other seals were leaking... It lost quite a bit of oil as a result, and when the mechanic saw it, he said it was "pissing out oil"... I had to spend about a grand to fix these oil leaks, with the timing belt replacement included... As for the turbo, it makes a "shrieking" noise when pushing it hard (freeway on-ramps, etc)... It doesn't lose any boost and when driving normally around town, the turbo sounds like it should, so I'm going to just keep an eye on it for now... It's a shame but I guess buying a used car is buying somebody else's problems lol...

That is unfortunate indeed, hopefully now that all of the leaks have been sorted and the timing belt has been replaced she should be running as good as new. I've never heard anyone describe a shrieking noise from their turbo at higher rpms, mine has a whistle type noise which I believe is from my intake and diverter valve that is installed. I hope it doesn't cause you any problems, just try and keep and eye on it as you said 👌🏼

@@TheGearChange Yep, hopefully it's all sorted now, fingers crossed 🤞 I also have a blow-off valve and CAI installed on my car, so maybe that noise is as a result of these mods? The mechanic described it as a shrieking noise and said it's probably on its way out... If you don't mind, could you possibly post a video of the noise on your car, as it will help me heaps...

Yeah hopefully it is sorted now, no fun when cars start giving you headaches 😅 That's what I was thinking it was, as mine also makes a bit of a whine noise when the boost comes on but I've always assumed it's normal especially with my intake and the tune now even more so. Hey Luke, the previous owner had It in the car when I purchased it but it is a Chevron brand and I believe they bought it online 👌🏼
