Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the gramil and Tomy Hovington's video. Now that LMI is no longer around to offer the gramil, I'd be curious to see other's solutions regarding how they would approach how to build one. If you build one I'll definitely watch the video and if you don't, I'll still keep watching. Thanks again!

I tested the Stewmac benders... Not terribly impressed. I don't want to spam your comments, but I am making/selling a version that is basically the next evolution of am LMI bender. I started working on it a couple years ago when I sorted out how to do cutaways on an LMI machine. I didn't move it forward out of respect for LMI, but when I found out they were closing shop, I decided to wrap up design and start production... It's under a grand... I'm also selling the components (temp controllers, blankets, slats, rollers, etc) at a reasonable price so if someone is going the DIY route they can get the bits and pieces they need. BTW... Your advice on the cutaway is spot on.

I was sent an email from Stewmac for $250 off of their kit price. If I could justify the cost, my price would be $1,750 instead of their regular price of $2,000. Maybe the value is there, but as a hobbyist who wants to build instruments smaller than what they are offering forms for, it would be a waste of money. I checked out your site and your pricing is much more reasonable. I plan on building ukuleles and parlor/tenor sized guitars to start, so these larger machines are not quite in my wheelhouse at this time. I'll definitely keep your offerings in mind when I decide to build larger instruments.

It’s fairly easy to get all the parts including blankets from Amazon. Enough people have bought parts you can basically fill your cart with just their suggestions. Built my own for just $100.

thank you Eric . last time i looked at bending machines it was 750 ish eek now days . why audio your not that hard to look at .

The bending jig is very flexible and can be adapted to different shapes. Whether that is worth the money remains to be seen and is personal. Not for me it isn't ;-)
