I'm not even a delivery driver but I love your videos! You show everything from the "working bee" POV. You're super down to earth and open with us and I just generally enjoy watching your channel. As someone who worked at a car rental company as a driver in the past, couldn't agree more with how free you truly feel on this type of job. Sure we all still have bosses, but they aren't piggy riding their way through with us all day. Even my boss said he was somewhat jealous of me when I was on the road because I could just get away from things for a while. Sure, driving a lot is exhausting when doing it for a long period. But it always feels like going on a small adventure during the day while everyone are stuck in their offices. I work at a job that I literally do not leave the office and I miss driving tbh.

Great vid. Love the Q & A. I have never worked from Fed Ex or UPS, just Amazon. The routing system isn't the best, but you can ad-lib and go out of sequence with your stops. There are times when you want to do that. Just remember that you will need to go back and pick up that stop you skipped. Another downside of the routing system is you don't get reminded of skipped stops in the app until the end of your route when you could be in a different area from where the skipped stop is.

You can skip stops, but Amazon makes it so difficult (I do do it sometimes). There are way too many submenus and the ui is slow. Amazon designed the app so it focuses more on tracking drivers instead of the delivery/driver experience. With Fedex/UPS if you want to skip a stop, you just drive to the stop and scan the package.

Same thing, however mine was computer engineering. Got half way through the program and was like yeah my heart isn’t into it like I thought.

You can make any type of video and we will watch! Great content as always.

Oh man, I tried to get into real estate too but found my own series of driving jobs myself. I even got my CDL and drove trucks but had to stop to stay home with my kids. Trying to find the next great career move now. Thank you for your inspiration and making us all laugh with you.

I do AmazonXL and we do anywhere from 15-50 stops a day. Some stops have multiple packages. I start at 430am and get off around 2pm, sometimes later but usually done with route around 12:30-1:30 and headed back to the warehouse. It is way different than small package delivery. Most stops last about 2-5min thne your on the road again. But like he says stops can be a good distance apart.

@@Th3GaMb3r I literally just started about 2 weeks ago and right now since it's after the holidays it's a bit slow. Right now I'm working 3 10hr days with the 4th as on call. Normally it's 4 days on 3 days off. Depending on what state you live in is how much they will pay, and the DSP you work for too. I as a assistant driver make around $20 a hour, drivers a little bit more. Paid weekly and if you do the math probably $500-600 or so take home weekly.

I can relate to you too. I'm 24 years old from Minnesota and have 3 years of college. I was an Amazon delivery driver just for one year during the pandemic times. I get to go to every city and explore places while delivering packages. It's physical work and the weather can also put a challenge too in the summer - winter. Delivering in a downtown, apartments, rural areas, closed businesses, and walking a long driveway at night were my biggest cons. I didn't like how the the mentor app dock points from driving. There were drivers got bitten by dogs on the property on long drive ways. After one year of delivering for Amazon I have moved on but it was an experience I never forget.

I had a terrible day on Friday. Businesses closed, wrong addresses on the gps, apartments that were hard to find, then on my 2nd to last stop I fell because of a customers messed up step and ended up in the emergency room. Glad it’s the weekend now.

Got my cdl in October but due to me having a 1 year old I decided to not start trucking until I pay some things down so I looked into Amazon delivery I plan on staying a few months until I’m ready to go to that next level.. hope it works out for me.

2020 taught me a lot, being a cook is a sustainable job. I will never take my job for granite ever again if I was still doing house cleaning I would have lost my job.

U can move up as a delivery driver but not for Amazon and Ground. Ups Express DHL is the career driver jobs. I worked at ground and I’m staying forever away from contractors. All Amazon guys I saw on route looked like they hated life, lol so did I at ground it was terrible. At Express now and man best decision of my life

The bags Amazon uses are a great idea. Packages don't slide and roll out of place. Definitely a step ahead of UPS and FedEx.

The only downside is if one of your packages in the wrong bag then you waste time trying to find it whereas fedex and ups already have all (or most) of their packages lined up for the day so it's easier to find. But I think Amazon's system and tech is definitely better

The bag system is great! It only works for Amazon because they can decide what they shipped. UPS + Fedex are dedicated shipping companies where most of the packages are much bigger

Starting at a DSP soon, I was wondering how often drivers get pay raises, my DSP says training is 17/hr. and after training is 17.50/hr. Is there yearly or performance raises?

Got a job at a dsp as a driver no experience with Amazon or fed ex. After a month I’m getting promoted to dispatch

They said it real rare usually they promote based on how long they been there but they had a dispatch opening and felt I deserved it and I think like extra dollar or something. I’m being trained for it now so I haven’t gotten the raise yet. I start the position like 2 weeks

If you aren’t doing your job great they will cut your days down for the week. If you do what you gotta do and do your job good then you will be straight. It really depends on the dsp you work at also. You could work for 1 dsp and hate it and work at a different one and love it Depending on the routes Amazon schedules them and on who your dispatch is

@@LaosHouse im constantly asking some mail lady everytime i deliver the same house with them. they said is tought when u are new dealing all those toxic people inside their building and you have to work 6-7days straight until you get regular.

use to be a amazon driver, but now I work for FedEx ground honestly there are pros and cons to both but I just prefer the set schedule and route of FedEx, where as amazon you could get the same route depending on your dsp, also do not like how you have to work the route they want you too, and all the metrics that come into play are super annoying

Yep. I think most people go to school because they don't know what to do or their parents force them too. There are so many options nowadays that people should explore.

Back in 2020 I got hella stop 🛑 📦 244 stop 🛑 434 📦 I got rescue 3 time so, many apartments during peak season in the Bay Area.

I work for Ground and every new person we've got the last 6 months have came from Amazon.... They praise the way FedEx works compared to Amazon. They dont get overwhelmed and overworked daily. And make more $... Amazon is in fact not better than FedEx.... They were doing over 200 stops daily. Over at FedEx 120 - 140. I guess it all depends on the areas and contractors

Did this during undergrad and man does this job make you feel worthless 😂 Im in grad school now for Computer Science/Data Science at Marquette U. now, and man did delivering at a DSP humble me in terms of appreciating Amazon deliveries made to my off campus residence. But seriously, this job sucked. I did this my Sophomore and Junior year in undergrad .. I would NOT do this again. Just my opinion. Its cool to make quick money but honestly, they over work you and it only really helped me buy more drinks on nights out 😂.

I worked for a week for Fedex in Scotland and it seems in USA it is a lot better. Fedex here is one of the worse to work for, very unorganised. Amazon here is rated higher

As someone who delivers for Amazon for 7 years Amazon sucks Amazon do not take responsibility of the drivers we are all contractors and we do not get Amazon benefits Amazon driving job is only good to use as a stepping stone Y'all cannot make this a career Y'all can but it's not really smart to Amazon treat us all like numbers We are nothing but a bunch of numbers that deliver packages for Amazon Yes there are some contractors out there that have some good benefits and all that but it's still sucks because we're not directly with Amazon like how do people who work in the warehouse is

I know there maybe some FedEx drivers on here. Why are you so awful! You drive recklessly on my street, leave packages wherever - in the rain or snow, don’t knock on delivery. Why! I honestly hate FedEx and its drivers with a passion.

As a truck driver, i want something local like the job u have cuz yeah, u make a lot of $ but i live in the truck and i just wanna be home everyday so i can start going to the gym and have a life 😆
