I totally agree with what you said at 17:30 ,BTS does brings lot of western stans,and i hate that most of them don't stan any other groups. It not wrong,but they always call themselves as kpop fans when they only like BTS.When i ask my classmates if they are kpop fans,they said they are,and i ask them what group do they know/stan and all they said was BTS.That annoys me a lot.Cuz they are only BTS fans,not kpop fans!!!

I agree 100% with the post-Most-Beautiful-Moment-in-Life BTS fans...I think the moment I started to feel uncomfortable in the BTS fandom was around the time BigHit officially announced the name change from "bangtan" to "beyond the scene," almost as if to become more "relatable" for the new (and mostly VERY demanding and borderline entitled?) stans. I loved Danger, Boy in Luv, the entire "youth" arc up to Spring Day at the end of the Wings era, but then...it's almost like with the new American attention and validation, BigHit and BTS felt the need to distance themselves from the kpop world, eerily similar to your old friends sitting away from the "loser kids" lunch table, to use a familiar 90s American high school analogy. I also feel frustrated seeing them accept and not correct the new Western fans who brag to their non-kpop-fan social circles about their "exotic" taste in Korean music even though they only care about BTS, and I'm continuously unsettled by these fans' belief that BTS is worth supporting because they're the "exception" to a morally corrupt and backwards Korean society and the shining exceptions to a "fake and soulless" kpop industry...and thus worthy of Western validation and approval. That bothers me so much, and I'm glad I'm not the only fan who thinks so, even if our opinions on BTS's changed image don't match up 100%.

Sorry, I think I’m late but I’m watching this video now 😅. I’m an Army but I define myself a K-POP fan too. I mean, I listen so much K-POP song of so much group but I don’t buy their album, follow their account, I don’t know so much about them, ecc... but if I like their song I listened to them, I think it’s normal 😅 I’m only an Army because BTS is the only gruop I “support”. If someone tell you that it doesn’t have nothing to do with Army. I mean, they are fan of the genre, no? If you’re fan of a kpop group you’re a fan of kpop... Stop saying bad things about Army please. It’s annoying. We are not like that. Sorry for my bad English :)

larken wen i agree with you 100%!! it also doesn't help with the fact that BTS is literally NEVER on korean variety shows. i started to stray away from them after their huge success in the states and western countries in general mostly because i felt like they were focused more on making music that caters to an american audience.

When i first started getting into Kpop (2009), fan wars only start when one fandom feels like another fandom/group is copying them/their bias group or if someone offends their faves personally. Now fanwars start even when one just states his/her opinion and that saddens me. That's why the only fandom i belong now is MyDay because people there are calmer and i haven't heard any fanwars involving them yet 🍋🍋🍃🍃

Anthony Elms I honestly wish their concept was appreciated more. Instead of being another “normal” fixed group, they have something more than just their talent. It makes for interesting music, especially for NCT U. It might make it difficult for them to get new fans, but I wouldn’t have it any other way

I was surprised when you said Kpoptown was overpriced 😮 then I remembered you were in Canada and that probably has a big affect on how the prices differ between sites. For me the price difference between Kpoptown and ktown4u is less than a dollar. But your are right about how they take awhile to actually ship out the order 😩 I loved the chatty video though and related to the comments about how Kpop has changed over the years. 2007 photo cards didn’t exist and neither did lightsticks, we had balloons and jewel cases lol

I think the bookmarks are for students to keep between their books because most fans in korea are teenagers (i dont know for sure tho)

Groups are really getting younger! Like with YG new groups, in treasure the maknae is born in 2005. Like, isnt that 13/14 years old? Its so young they are children! Idk why companies are making them debut this young when some trainees have been there for like 10 years

Taemin was literally 14 when he debuted in SHINee haha. It’s not really new. A lot of maknae’s back in the day were super young. Yugyeom from got7 was 16

I see what you mean but do you wonder why bts are getting the attention they do? honestly locals know Kpop but they don't like it as much they call them Chinese boys, they think of it as a joke. if America was in love with BTS that would be a different level, streams come from ARMY if it was all locals + ARMY then they would kinda be like Ariana grande big.

Like Twice and mamamoo, it seems like u don't stan them, Mamamoo has the most amazing music right now. Twice is hardworking and also makes good music.
