Amen. I now have a better understanding of this topic. I feel like I can now make improvements upon myself as I continue to read, study, and meditate on the Word. God bless you brother John. Your lessons are helping me to better understand the Word. At one point I was the breadwinner while my husband was the home maker. I asked God to switch our places because I hated working and my husband wanted to work. God answered my prayers and now I'm a homemaker and love taking care of my children while my husband goes off to work. I now have a better relationship with my husband and our marriage has significantly improved ever since God has answered my prayers. Most importantly, i have veen so much closer to God than I ever have been. God is good all the time.

For starters it says in the Bible! Woman are not to be head of a church. So she shouldn’t be a pastor. You being the head of the wife should tell her this. I’ll pray for you to be full of wisdom to do this. 🙏

Women wore head coverings in church in every culture and church until after World War II. I think doing away with the head covering has more to do with the influence of a weaker view of biblical authority in the West since many churches in Asia and Africa continue to wear a hat or head covering.

Head-coverings were prescribed for male priests under the Law. Which is why Judaism still prescribes the yarmulke today. If I Cor 11 means a man wearing a cloth on his head while praying dishonors Christ, why didn't Jesus himself address the subject? Why wasn't it a bigger issue in the early church? Why did the church of Acts continue to keep the law and to worship in the Temple?

@Ana Maria Actually... it's not an excuse. Remember, when we point fingers, there are several more pointing back at ourselves. We could actually have a conversation about the Biblical basis for NOT believing like the Mennonites teach... or we can retreat into our corners and pitch accusations back and forth.

I do regret not doing more spiritually..but I struggled..I DID try to get them to go to church when they were teens..but they fought me on it..so I turned to Christ in prayer since then!..I was shocked recently when my older kid was having a frustrating time..and they finally got help and I heard her say "Thank God".. she's been an Atheist..so I believe she's starting to see His Love!!.. God's time is not my time.. forcing my kid to believe makes it artificial..she has to CHOOSE to believe to make work for God/Jesus..the best I can do is live my life as best I can in Christ as an example!!

*Prophets* This one is very important for a reason that I will bring up later. 1 Corinthians 14:29-32 “Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.” 2 Things here: “Two or three prophets should speak” - 1 Cor 14:29 “And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop - σιγάτω (sigatō) - .” - 1 Cor 14:30 The word here also is the same as the others - σιγάτω (sigatō). Today’s Application The point here is also, there are very strict instructions for Prophets to dicern what other Prophets are saying - I’ve not seen very many “Prophets” interpreting one another. But the bigger point here is that if Prophets and those speaking in tongues have this type of restriction - how much more of a restriction to everyday men have? No one is to be disruptive. Women 1 Corinthians 14:34 34Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak - σιγάτω (sigatō) -, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak - σιγάτω (sigatō) - in the church. Today’s Application Now, when looking at each of these cases before, people speak in tongues all the time and over each other, if someone is an actual prophet, I’ve not seen other prophets to interpret that word right there - and the number limitations for each of these are strict. Are these followed? No, and we all know they aren’t. Even within this particular verse - are women actually forbidden from speaking in Churches? Wouldn’t it be disgraceful for us to allow that any where? But how many churches do you know that actually don’t allow women to speak at all as this verse says? So here we get to the meat of this particular issue, and I am going to bring several, Biblical and grammatical points to this verse. The assumptions that people gather, from this: This is referring to all women Women are to never ever speak in Church And that is disgraceful for a women to speak at all in church. Let’s look at the greek for this: It doesn’t actually ready “women” It reads, The women. The definitive article might seem contrite, but it’s really not when we are looking at the true meanings of a sentence and its structure. This is important because we have to look at the next part of this. “They should ask their own husbands; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the Church.” Why would there need to be a distinction between The women and also their own? That is a bit odd, if this is blanked statement about all women and them not speaking in Church. It is clear that these particular women are asking questions to people OTHER than their own husbands, that this is about women speaking out of turn and being disruptive and asking any one anything. You may think this is a stretch, but if a woman doesn’t have a husband, then why would Paul need to make this particular distinction, not just to ask their husbands, but to ask their own husbands. The word for woman in greek is γυναῖκες gynaikes - This is also used for wife when it’s speaking in relation to giving husbands an instruction. (Colossians 3:18, Ephesians 5:22, 1 Peter 3:1). So this is clearly talking about the wives, whom Paul had gotten report about, that were spouting off and asking other peoples husbands, and not paying attention in Church. The further reasoning for this goes to the next point which is contradictory to the command for silence - σιγάτω (sigatō). Women are never to speak in Church Paul didn’t just say that, but He said that it was disgraceful! Well - when looking at the instructions for wearing veils - Paul not only says that it’s ok for women to speak, but he would be including them in 1 Corinthians 14:29-32 of being able to stand with the men and prophecy. 1 Corinthians 11:2 - 5 2I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, a and the head of Christ is God. 4Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. Now here is something so interesting - Paul is giving women instructions for wearing a head covering - while praying and prophesying! Women speaking in the Church and Paul Approves Is he then giving these women also the instruction to not speak and that it’s disgraceful for a woman to speak in Church? It can’t be. Because he is directly addressing their authority to be able to pray and prophesy in the Church. So thus this first instruction is to be looked at not in terms of ALL women - but a particular set of them, who were being rowdy, and asking men other than their husbands questions. Going back to 1 Corinthians 14:29-32 and 1 Corinthians 14:27 - these are instructions not just for men, but ALSO for women. Thus everyone was under the exact same rules for being silent in Church if you weren’t speaking in tongues with and interpreter, prophesying, or doing another approved practice. But again, isn’t it odd, that Paul would have to tell men to NOT cover their heads? This is because of the practices of the day when they would sacrifice to their pagan gods - that men would also cover their heads. Further more - when we look at the rest of the discussion about women wearing veils - the discussion of long hair comes up. 1 Corinthians 11:14 14Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, Here we have another rule for men that we don’t strictly enforce today with men having long hair. But regardless, there are very few churches that make women wear a veil in church, I do not know of one personally. So Now let’s head on over to the big boy 1 Timothy 2:12 - “I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.” When looking at this all of the above is needed for the proper context into what this means, and the getting used to the idea of deeply looking at what the greek means, what Paul means, and the role of women in the Church. I rarely hear, if ever, someone dig very deeply into this with the furor that is used for other issues, and this is why I totally understand your take on things. So we have established in 1 Corinthians several things: Paul seemingly said that women are to remain silent and that it’s disgraceful for them to speak The use of the same greek word for silence used in relationships to Prophets and those speaking in tongues The conclusions after digging into these are such: The context of all of this is pertaining to having order in the Church and making it so that outsiders could come in and get saved Paul clearly affirms women who pray and prophecy - as he speaks of the proper head coverings for them in relation to praying and prophesying Thus Paul is couldn’t be referring to all women when he was speaking of instructions for them - as there would be a clear contradiction here The rules were for men and women who were not in any authorized way participating in the learning and sharing of Christ and His Teachings (They weren’t teaching from the NT because it hadn’t been written yet) Everyone was required to keep silent in Church

Thank you so much for teaching God’s Word in such a broad and inclusive way. It’s always fascinating to learn from you. Your decades of learning and teaching are so appreciated. Pastors altogether too often fail in this regard, whether it’s short of schooling and/or perpetual learning, or they don’t want to step on toes for fear of insulting the ones who need the messages so badly but do not want to learn because of cultural reasons that westerners make so many exceptions for. They don’t want to hear God’s Word because God doesn’t fit in their life choices. God is an inconvenience to their enjoyment of living. But I’m so blessed to have found your teachings, Dr. B. I hunger for all the details of histories and all the ‘little’ things (they’re not little at all!), for those unending landscapes in the Bible. I really enjoy the explanations of who, when, where, why, how and so much more! I pray for you and Bonnie, Dr. B, I pray for your ministry and the people who benefit, those who love hearing all the details that the western world simply throws aside; many may ask, but they don’t want only a quick one or two word answer which tells them nothing. People in countries where your ministry takes you appreciate every second of every minute, every word, and they want so much more. I’ve heard you say that they don’t even want a coffee break - that’s how much more important learning about God’s Word is to them. You and Bonnie are in my prayers every day. Thank you so, so much for all your time and all you do. God bless you and your ministry ~~~~~

Because a lot of good women are offended by this teaching , I think this gentleman done a superb job because he handled the word of God with sincereness , love , and a desire not to offend anyone . If a person is offended by the word of God , it's because of one of two reasons . It's the attitude of the teacher doing the teaching or the person being taught , absolutely is not willing to follow the instructions of God . For either reason , the person will not hear you . If they hear you , they may not agree right at the time , but they will at least consider what's been taught . I thought this gentleman done a superb job at delivering his message !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already believed what was the end result of his message , but I will have to confess , I did not completely understand the scripture . Whether or not , I understand the scriptures being taught , I totally agree with this passage of scripture . Amazing amount of respectful replies for an issue that is easily settled Biblically but hotly disputed socially! Thanks for showing that Gods Word will stand up for itself when applied with understanding and that sometimes we must go deep and search out these truths to explain why this is as important now as when it was written. I also love what you said about the role of women in the home as a mother as a home maker. There is simply no more influence that a lady of God can have in society than to be a loving, kind, nurturing, teacher and mother and run her home in a business like manner. You want real respect, let that home shine from a productive and wise lady’s rule. The proverbs 31 woman sets such an awesome an example. Finally, children well behaved, thoroughly instructed in all discipline are absolutely a crown to husband and wife...Women who have cast off motherhood as a burden and as a reason to resort to abortion as a means of birth control and as a convenience for their lack of planning bring judgment not only on themselves but on this nation. there is no more power that a lady can wield Than she can as the matriarch of a fine godly home Where children and grandchildren are arrows... blessed be the mother whose quiver is full. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world ladies. God bless

With regards to hats it says a man should not cover his head. If it was about authority as described in this video, that would be saying man should not be covered by Jesus. Likewise in the passage "a woman should cover her head" is not about a man's authority should cover her as the video says but the passage is exactly what is says, meaning covering the head on her body. The passage says if a woman doesn't cover her head she might as well have her hair cut off. Notice it doesn't say she might as well be divorced or single. It's talking about her literal head that needs to be covered, while a man literally should not cover his head. As for everything else that was very good. Men don't cover your head in church. Women cover your head in church when praying and prophesying. God bless you brothers and sisters. Peace be with you all 🙏🙏

We think times change and people must change their ways to fit the changes, and yet then we say " God never changes and never changes His mind" We cannot have it both ways. What the bible says, it says. We must follow it the best we can. We just cannot make up things as we go to fit our "world view" I agree Frank. You read the scripture and took it for "face value" women in pants was not as expected either for women . Women do not dress as men nor women as men, and we must try to dress 'humbly'. Yes, there an aspect, which you allude to, of foretelling. But equally if not much more often, the word simply means to *declare* or to *expound.* So on Sunday mornings, a preacher expounding scripture is prophesying. But you are right in concluding that there is no new revelation in terms of equal to scriptural authority. New revelation today comes in the form of understanding the truth given in the 66 books of the bible.

Consider though, that all of Protestant doctrine is derived through either Catholic doctrine, or by reaction against it. And we know the Catholic church destroyed and revised history to make themselves look correct. . If we go back to the early church, we know the first century original church continued to keep the Law of Moses, and to worship in the Temple. . Now, the Law of Moses prescribed head-coverings for male priests. But the Law prescribed no head-coverings for females, anywhere! There are cultural references to it, but it was never part of God's prescribed law! . If this was a huge change from the Old Testament to the New, then why wasn't it addressed as such, by Christ, and by the Apostles in the book of Acts? . After all, the headcovering teaching says if a man prays or prophesies with his head covered with a cloth, then he actually dishonors Christ! . Logic says if that is the case, then Christ himself would have addressed the subject strongly.

And often, this Greek word is used to mean human messengers. In 1 Cor 11, there's no need for it to mean angelic messengers. Instead, if we let it mean what it means naturally - simply, messengers - that fits perfectly with the cultural view! . After all, if a messenger is sent from one church to another, how is he to know who is a recognized Christian in the local body? Especially if some are dressing like idol temple prostitutes!?

Yes women are different then men, but we are in no way inferior intellectually or otherwise except for physical strength most of the time. Women can still hold a leadership role in the church and teach other women. Just not be a pastor or preacher, which makes sense because women in this role could be abused more by unbelievers.

I am a woman of God and respectfully cover my head and body not all my hair, but in doing so as he has called me to do, it reminds me of my headship. Not only of my heavenly Father but of my earthly husband . It humbles and it is good. Oh if more woman in our day would know and learn this.... our Lord, our children, ourselves, and our husband's would be Blessed. The role of a woman is clear throughout all of the Bible, from her home to the body of Christ; the Church. As is it for the man. And as Paul states we have no other way 🤗🙌🙏💞 So pastor my only question to you is if we r to be in continual prayer, how is it we shall not have a covering as reverence to our Lord while doing so? Our husband's are not always with us to be that cover so we do this as respect knowing our authority. 🙌

If a husband is the wife’s spiritual head, then he becomes the mediator between her and Christ, just as popes and priests mediate between Catholics and God. Roman Catholicism on the level of the family. Quite the contrary, being saved means having a direct relationship with God through Jesus Christ, regardless of your gender. No mediators. I believe there were problems in the Corinthian church with super aggressive, verbally contentious women, and Paul was addressing the conflict they were causing, balancing the resulting disorder with rules meant to preserve the group.

Does a woman not have a right to attend church now? ALL women must cover their heads when in church and around men at all... according to the bible.. The bible says LONG HAIR IS COVERING OF HEAD. How LONG? How old and How long and what do you do with it, have it up or down? So heads covered, and ''NOT wear PANTS ,'' either ( dressing like men) So modern times would make them'' change the clothes' they wear in modern times. They would need to cover heads all the time to show they are subservient to their husbands or men . That would be in all places as the Holy Spirit lives inside of us so WE are the Temple Of The Holy Spirit. WE are the TEMPLE. We in our spirit though are """"not male nor female in Christ""" so we are all 'spiritual beings ' and the' Lord works through all people.' Maybe women should not be educated or work outside homes, like men do? We should stay home and cook in kitchens like they used to do? That was her place, of course. To educate the men/children. Give birth and yet He told Martha, that Mary chose the best way ( by listening to Jesus at His feet, and asking questions and so He liked her asking things and being with Him at His feet, and listening , that was her church) Most men will never lead women, they should evidently be teaching Sunday School and teaching the children, as men are not doing their jobs. To teach morality to the children. They should be the LEADERS of church and home, can they do it? This is what you mean? *We live in a different era though now, and women wear pants. They do cut hair like men often, now many times they dress like men, look like men, and do not wear hats or scarves, , and they were to have''' LONG hair.''' Hats on, and dresses'' all '''the time, staying home as you said and only men in church ( teaching Sunday School too?) . Men going home and teaching his wife and family properly , as she does not know enough? She has God's spirit in her , living in her. So if church is only for men, ( Bride of Christ) Then men would need to do all of the above. Women to do all of the above. Can you see what I mean? Women would just do " Women's work" Men would do "Men's work" if this was the case in this day. We must be careful so we do not get carried away and we become Amish . Nothing wrong with them but we would need horse buggy and living like they do. Women making their own clothes, and no more buying... Women are NOT TO WEAR SO MUCH JEWRY EITHER. GUESS WE MUST CHANGE OUR WAYS , AND NO MORE MODERN SOCIETY AND NO MORE WOMEN WORKING OUTSIDE HOME, TO HELP SUPPORT THE FAMILY. IT IS MEN'S WORK OUTSIDE HOME, STAY IN HOME and do Women's work and submit to the men.. Women are " SAVED THROUGH CHILDBIRTH" Much to think about is it not?

@@GARYWERSLEY Yes it was based on a patriarchal society. That was certainly in the Old Testament. When we look at the' New Testament ' we see Jesus treating women in a' much different' way. He even stops to talk to a woman at the well and knows all she had done, but yet was not saying it to judge as much as to make her realize what she had been doing. She was able to repent and went out to let the people know about Jesus. He did the same for the woman caught in adultery and no one could throw rocks to kill her, as of what Jesus wrote in the sand. NONE of them were without sins. They had to leave. Jesus said " Who is there now woman among you, to judge you?' She said " None " He said " neither will I" BUT she was to " Go and Sin No more" She followed Jesus. The woman anointing Jesus with her oils and her hair to dry his feet was also treated as special as the men wanted to condemn her for not having that oil 'sold.' Jesus also stood up for Mary of Bethany when Martha was upset and worrying about so much, with setting table and cooking. Jesus had mary at His feet taking all he said into her heart and He said" Mary has chosen the best" Jesus truly knew the worth of women, and Jesus stood up to SAVE everyone, not just men, of course, but EVERYONE is SAVED through his life He gave for us 'all.' He was then Risen from the dead to show us we all can be forgiven and we can be saved and we will rise again and live on eternally. We will not die forever. We may die of our earthly flesh as nothing on earth can last, but our spirits can live on. That is for both men and women. Many of the women did tell the story of Jesus and even the women were first to see Jesus after He rose from the grave and He had Mary go to the disciples to let them know He was alive. They would not believe her at first as it was not what they thought could happen and because she was a woman, but yet they ran to see and they found she was correct. Jesus wanted her ( a woman) to GO and tell the men that He had risen. They were able to talk about heLord and His work and His ability to save us. they were not told to " shut up" they were allowed to talk to Jesus. We should follow Jesus. We are to do what Jesus wants us to do, as He did too. We follow what Jesus did while on earth We look to the New Testament. I am not saying anything about women wearing hats in church or long dresses or not talking and just shutting up and having children and not doing anything but gossip and just cook and clean, but yet we know that the Lord ha special work for women and He wants them to tell about Him and to speak out about Him. We are to TEACH the young men ( our sons) that is how it works. The boys learn first with their moms about Jesus and then they learn HOW to speak about Jesus.

I am surprised he didn't make reference to the curse in Gen 3:16 and explain the Hebrew meaning of the word "desire." "Yet your desire shall be for your husband." The word includes the picture of usurping. i.e. a woman will have the desire to usurp the God ordained order of the man being the head of a woman. It is part of the curse of the fall as much as having pain in childbirth. All this has to do with the *office* of each. Man is the president. Woman is the vice-president.

  • @ashdeez6552

There are two different Hebrew words Paul said, when referring to hair and covering in these verses. One word refers to a woman’s natural hair and the other refers to a veil placed over the head. Look it up. Two different words with two different meanings. Facts are very important when it comes to honoring our Father’s headship. Teaching woman the wrong message about head coverings is in itself dishonorable.

  • @earnestlycontendingforthef5332

    @earnestlycontendingforthef5332

The issue at Corinth was not whether long or short hair was an acceptable covering, but whether or not the head was covered with a veil or hat. This is proven by the following: ----"Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head" (v. 4). The distinction here is obviously not between short and long-haired brethren, but rather between men with covered and uncovered heads. Contentious sisters were provided with an alter native: either cover the head or be shorn or shaven ( v. 6). But if long hair were the intended covering, then the Apostle's alternative is meaningless. "Cover" ( -ed, -ing) in the A.V. disguises the fact that different words for "to cover" are used in the Greek text. The distinction between two of these, "katakalupto" and "peribolaion" proves that a veil or head covering, and not long hair is intended. These words are as follows: "Katakalupto" ( 'kata' = 'fully'; 'kalupto' = 'to cover up'), "to cover fully" ( Yg). This word occurs through out verses 5- 13 and is translated "veil" in the R.S.V.; Nestle and Marshall's "Interlinear Greek-English New Testament'' and many other versions. These translations make it plain that the issue relates to a head covering, not the growth of hair, long or short. "Peribolaion" ('peri' = 'around'; 'ballo' = 'to throw, cast'), "something cast around" ( Y g). The long hair of a woman is her glory - like a mantle cast around ( v. 15) .(8) But this is not to be displayed in the assembly of believers before the presence of God. The intended covering in the ecclesial meeting is the "katakalupto" ---- the head covering or veil. When Paul refers to the long hair given to the woman as her glory, he is drawing a parallel with what "nature" or common-sense suggests. This can be seen from the following: MAN long hair is degrading. WOMAN long hair is her glory. Therefore. a parallel is evident [natural] with the spiritual a man ought not to cover his head a woman ought to cover her head. 4. The mistaken interpretation (9) evident in the question results from reading verse 15 as if it were the conclusion of the argument rather than an additional appeal to common-sense by a parallel: what "nature itself teaches.".

Excellent exegesis, I've been studying these issues for years; your explanation is the best so far. One other point did you know that the word for covering in 1cor 11: 15 is a different Greek word used in the rest of this text...? κατακαλύπτω katakaluptō to cover up:-cover(2), covered(1). Verse 15: περιβόλαιον peribolaion; that which is thrown around, a covering:-covering(1), mantle(1). I'm thinking it's pointing towards the way the hair is worn or styled. Many Thanks.

mercy johnson Interesting. Tamar wore a veil when she played the harlot. Just as Yahweh declares that he detests the Sabbaths of the people, does he hate his children for keeping his command? If so, then he would have had no delight in Yeshua. Yeshua walked in the Torah perfectly. The veil represents his children playing the whore. Just as the Sabbath and appointed times that Yahweh hated were not his appointed times, but THEIRs.

Agree, the covering I cover my hair with is "veil" in the Greek. So I veil my glory. It is a testimony to the angels, to the good, and to the fallen who did NOT submit to God's authority when they were cast out of heaven, testifying that the Church is in submission to God, and the women declare this by their head coverings on behalf of the whole church. How beautiful is God's order in the Church. And how hard the enemy tries to deny and discount this wonderful truth of the order of God.

So much of this kind of family life is happening now, and it is true, you would not have a husband home leading all of you and teaching all of you and telling you right from wrong. You would not have an income either, if you stayed home. The government would not make your ex husband support his own family, he made, properly , so you could just be home properly, as the bible stated.. We have changed now after 2000 yrs. . Guess it is up to your EX to support you according to bible, as they are his children still.. too ( he still has job to come and teach and lead and help them find the spiritual path, but i realize you cannot make him and he will be the one judged in the end , for that) But our world has different standards. He should step in and pay your bills? ( This is your Christian belief and you can say this and that you must stay home to take care of family... as it is your faith.. Then he must support you, anyway. But we all know Social Security offices would not go for this. So you have brought up a great question. an important one, If it is your faith, and that should cause him to need to handle it, but doubt that would work in this day. Probably the one with the support for children, would get them? Maybe you can make him pay so much, you can stay home? That might be the best way? It is your '' Christian faith according to bible''. He is responsible, financially.

Thank you for the fastidious explanation. I've listened to various protestant explanations (my first being Ray Steadman) and truly tried to follow the biblical logic. My upbringing (eastern orthodox) was just the plain understanding....you covered your head in church. But...then everyone prays outside of church and so do you cover your head then, too??? (I''ve always questioned Eastern Orthodoxy since childhood, so this is not a firm belief). Still don't make the connection as to what Apostle Paul said about women and head covering... However, when you spoke about the Masculinity, Femininity (yes it is a word), and Androgenicity (I believe you wrote Androgeny and I'm wondering if what I wrote is a word, too) the light bulb lit up! Supermoms...have a career, be a homemaker, raise children, be a wife, and renovate a foreclosed house (in my case).... I nearly died, literally. I lost an in utero child, I hated my husband for the load I was carrying, and God did not bless our union. 25 years later, my daughter won't listen to my advice...but God's plan is easier to follow than the plan of the world. The farmer is the exemplary microcosm of modern and ancient times. To live, its easier to have a mate to divide the chores. To have children, its easier to eventually divided the chores. The children become legacy and they eventually become your sustenance. With God all things are possible...because God already foresaw our needs. God already foresaw our gender characters. He made them.

We don't have a man to be our cover (my first ex was a pedophile and adulterer, my second didn't understand the Leave and Cleave mentioned in Gen 23 and basically ignored me to be with his mom every morning, noon, and evening) ... so how are we to deal with these lessons? Am I not to ask questions in church as there isn't a man to do be my head (not that I can find a church in my area aside from the SDA that do a Sabbath service)? I'm just curious what the rules are for us.

I think women should have long hair as a sign of feminity and should cover it as a sign of humility. But don't worry, it's perfectly okay to pray with your head uncovered in the shower x) see, you're alone, it's just you and God, who sees your heart anyway. Meanwhile in Church it's a way of showing you're hiding your beauty, your glory, so that the focus is on His beauty and His glory, and it's a way of showing you accept to be submitted to your husband in a godly, biblical, holy manner. So it's like a statement. You don't need to make the statement in the shower :P

@mercy johnson It is no where mentioned in the bible women cannot work for kingdom of God, preach the Gospel or testify Gods love and what God has done for them etc. For God is love and spreading the Gospel is an act love .In the bible its clearly mentioned that governmental authority in the church is to be male, pastors have spiritual authority over his congregation and he is accountable for all of them before God in day judgemnt. This is how God has ordained it , for instance just like how a husband is supposed to be head of the household and the inverse of this would be a pevrsion of God's plan for a family , similarly chruch which is the body of christ is like a large family where every member has a role regardless of gender and this family which belongs to christ is under the stewardship of a pastor ie a Shepherd . if you think this is not egalitarian and unjust or patriarchal then you can also use this logic to criticise biblical view on homosexuality. our God is just true and holy God he is not a respector of persons ( ie he shows no favouritism to a particular gender , race, rank etc) Don't make gender a issue for when the new heaven and earth comes there is not going to be a male or female gender we are all going to be equal children of God because of our lord Jesus christ's obedient sacrifice on the cross. God before the creation of the world ordained that his only begotten son would be sacrificed cut-off from him , as an atonement sins of the world. yet if jesus would have question what God has ordained ie stating how is it just for a righteous man to suffer God's warth and die a horrible death for the sake sinners, we could never partake in the divne nature of God or spent eternity with him . similarly Jesus also expets us to obey God's ordinance however hard or unfair it may seem. This is what jesus meant when he said if anyone wants to be my desciple he must carry his cross and follow me. cross referss to subduing our carnel nature that wants to rebel against God or obeying him

Many thanks for posting this - the last 5 or so minutes ( talking about motherhood and homemaking) are especially good . Motherhood is surely a beautiful design of our Heavenly Father. He made Woman to produce life giving milk to her offspring - not man. Of course feeding children is only a part of her nurture . Getting off subject a little : not so long ago , it was mostly the man who went out from the house every day , to a place of work , to provide for a family. In our materialistic / media ridden 21st century , mostly, both man and woman go out to work to , wrongly or rightly, to maximise household earnings .
