@Flamu What do you think of using Alexander Ovechkin instead of Kuznetsov if one does not have the coal yet for the latter? Ovechkin has a better turret traverse. Would you change anything else in the skills if Ovechkin was used instead?

Flumu, as it is Russian, it is Bag-ra-ti-On, not Bagreishin :)

Bagration is named after the royal family of georgia (our monarchs last name was bagration, ბაგრატიონი in georgian). Stalin named alot of stuff in georgias name, there was a carrier called tiflis(modern day georgias capital tbilisi was called tiflis earlier) although after georgia left the union and became pro west they renamed it. Also the bagration has no sh in its name. It is pronounced bagra-tee-on the t is hard aswell. English doesnt have that letter so cant type it:p

Well the ship is named after Pyotr Bagration himself, the general, not directly named for the Royal family. He was obviously a member of the Royal family though.

The CV "Tbilisi" was built 30-35 years *after Stalin died,* and it was renamed to "Admiral Kuznetsov" in 1990 - *before Georgia left the U.S.S.R..* Also, Georgia didn't become heavily pro-West *until Saakashvili* - early 2000s. So, not quite sure what you're on about.

personally I find Prinz Eugene to be useless compared to ARP Takao despite being the same tier, the only thing that the PE has a leg up on is HP.

@eastindies the better AP is arguable, because while the theoretical damage is great, penetration just isnt ... so the worth of the AP is very situational ... in comparison Atago has monstrous HE (~50% more dmg per shell and 4% better fire chance) that works in almost all cases and 2 more guns (25%). The improved HE pen of Eugen is of arguable value and gets largely negated by Atago's superior dispersion. _ the better firing range is bought at the expense of detectability, both have a 5.xkm buffer between concealment and firing range ... use situational _ "better AA" that still doesn't do anything noteworthy even against T6 carriers.... _ both have great parts of the ship that can be overmatched by various BB, if anything then the 40mm icebreaker on Eugen is a boon ... 25mm or 27mm nose/aft means very little when so many BB can overmatch 30mm armor anyway... 387mm guns already overmatch 27mm armor (358mm guns for 25mm armor) ... so the difference only matters against 380mm guns _ hydro is an arguable point. hydro or not you just can't push the EU DD and pushing anything in general is largely a death sentence giving the insanely passive meta we have right now. For self defence Atago's hydro is as good as Eugens. Also Eugen is slow, even by cruiser standards. _ So all in all Atago is just better in the current game, Eugens "boons" are either highly situational or plainly useless in actual gameplay.

@eastindies actually, PE is just 27mm everywhere. Atago, however, has only the thinnest of 25mm upper belts, sandwiched between belt and armored deck, neither of which a Yamato can even overmatch. Furthermore, the ship is far smaller, and more maneuverable. Against a Yamato or any other BB with larger than 381mm guns, Atago is *far* more likely to actually ricochet anything.

Have it also since a week. Im not bad with cruiser, but i am not warm with it. Maybe because I often had T10 games. So ur not alone. But Yeah, still great ship.

Interested in the ship, but not in giving WG money right now. Gonna wait on this one.

@@antoniohagopian213 Well when you think about it, his nation was being invaded and I think the army would be more important than the navy at that point also I've heard that the large ships being build had been damaged by German saboteurs when they started retreating, it was either that or Soviets doing it themselves when they retreated.

Nice review, almost unbiased :) I'd take RPF instead of DE and PM but that's a matter of play style preferences-I'd rather do something useful for my team (like countering enemy DDs) instead of farming damage with DE and fires.

The ship is not really a DD hunter, as she is limited by her slow reload, not that low concealment and unremarkable agility. This one is rather selfish, as her focus is in doing damage to everything that can be aimed. Not a ship you should bring to a contested cap in my opinion.

@@hanesco219 countering DDs is not always equal to contesting the cap. She has hydro for a purpose, and WG will even buff that hydro. Think about other ways to help your team against enemy DDs using that hydro plus RPF :)

@@100krakens2 even then, the ship is no hunter. You can even give her German hydro, and it would not be different. To truly hunt DDs, she requires outside help. Not like Cleveland or Chapayev, or even Edinburgh. Bagration is in the same league as Kutuzov and Mainz in that respect, they can kill DDs, but it is not their main focus, because they are ill-equipped for that.

Oh yes, the legendary radar-less DD hunter woth 11 km detection. Truly a thing of nightmares for every DD player.

I got this ship recently. It's hard for me to use. It's so slow and unwieldy that you can't really play keep away, but it's also really easy for battleships to beat flat from most angles. You don't get much of a chance to hit other cruisers because they're hiding behind islands and you're spotted before you can get around them. I guess I need to practice more. Just wish I wasn't in tier ten games all the time.

I bought this, what about mounting AA Def on it in lieu of Sonar? Thanks Flamu.

hey, after i rewatch it. I think it is an (slightly better) T8 Budyonny with and AA and heal. reload time, no.of guns. Can doa little tank dmg. What do u think flamu

I liked that you compared it to the Atago because I got a lot better with this ship when I started playing it like my Atago. Yes, the HE is anemic, but it works good for head on BBs. The ship is not very good at mid range though. 10km-13km you are getting farmed.

turning circle is a serious problem. beyond that, it's perfect.

So I have Atago already. Is this an overall better ship?

At first when you begin playing this ship it’s very sluggish, but once you start training more captain skills, this ship is such pain in the ass.

hey flamu, could you maybe show the armour model too on these premiums? It would be nice have an idea of how high the icebreakers go because it doesn't show in game unless you own it (unless i'm a potato and missed something).

About the matchmaking, wish you could check a box before pressing battle. And it takes longer to get into a game, but your all same tier.

ochakov is a bad choice tbh. this Peter Bagpipe ist much more useful, stronger, mor fun i'd say. Ochakov strugles alot.

it was an extra package. if you just bought the ship you wont get the soviet camo as well. you needed to pay some extra bucks.

I think it sucks that they nerf premiums right before or right after they come out. It makes it hard to know what you are getting and after you spent your money there's no refunds or anything.

So they nerfed a premium? I thought they didn't nerf premiums, or is it because it's a "promo premium" that they consider it ok to nerf it? Either way, I wouldn't be happy if I'd bought it to have WG come in and nerf it after the fact.

Now compare it with Odin and let's see WG's ideas on the roles of these ships and then let's consider how well each is able to perform it.

thats because the Ice breaker is only covering the lower belt, nothing to stop big gun bbs hitting higher up and getting good damage.

This ship pretty much outclasses the Baltimore.

when are they going to fix this game? Radar- if someone lights me up, I should be able to see where the torch is? Hydro- how can it hear through islands, how can radar see through islands? How can a Battleship have a lower detection range than a Cruiser? Why are CVs such a pain? Soviet Dream ships, should they really exist? Will submarines finally sink World of Warships? The answers to these pressing questions are what I want to hear.

Flamu Bagration is georgian kings dinasty name which served to russian king. It is not Bagreishen, It is just Bagration.

I love my Flamu and when in doubt always come here and do what my Flamu tells me.

Massa is straigt powerful. maybe the best T8 BB. I love my Vanguard she feels like a super cruiser. fast rudder, agile, but baaad firing angles and undergunned for a BB. 98% would take Massa instead.

@@thomasneal9291 There is some power creep, not as much as people claim, but the example hegave is a bad one.Usually power creep is about new ships making the old ones obsolete. First off, we haven't come to that. Contrary to what the abysmaly bad playerbase believes this is a fairly good balanced game. And second, you do realise that most of the tier 8 cruisers that i mentioned have been in the game for quite some time, right?

On any ship Concealment is nowadays useless, you're perma-spotted by CVs, DDs, etc.

Since you are now able to mount all Economic and Special Flags at once, combined with a good Camo and Daily Win Bonus you can easily achieve huge XP/FXP/Credts gains

Atago if you like ambush predator/invisible ninja killer playstyle, or if you like those fire ribbons. This, if you like staying at range and farming citadel ribbons. Keep in mind, though: Atago is super fun and potentially more rewarding than this thing, but it's also harder to play (shorter range, uptiers not as well, most of her strenghts are neutered if a CV is involved)

Kronschtadt used to be considered an OP ship: this should tell us how much the game has devolved and how powercrept many tech tree ships are today.

I once again comment that being a Light or Heavy Cruiser has nothing to do with Armor. There was an Unarmored French Heavy Cruiser and The Belfast was Better Armored than pretty much any Heavy cruiser she would ever meet

in real live it was mostly based on main armament calibre, yes. In game armor is one important value that defines cruiser sub classes.

always in toptier matches ? play vs tier 9+10. what you have most times. time over very fast. nor armor. no hiding behind islands cause fast shells. the ship is not good enough for average players. you have 406 and 410 in tier 8. but of course vs bad teams you can shine like in every ship. the good thing: AA, hitting targets like dd, heal the bad: using islands diffcult, 25-27 is not enough, turn radius, mm vs 9+10 so: you can buy but you dont need 2

So basically russian cruiser better brawler then the Odin. WG in nutshell.

Fairly similar to Tallin I guess but Tallin has no heal. I guess I’ll get Tallin for free soon

I still think that it's still too strong of a ship.

That skin looks like you either stole it from a fancy Kotor mod (devs if you read this please release a Kotor 3, love you, bye) or copied the it from the clothes of Texas or Exusiai from Arknights.

Flamu why you are pronouncing it as it was in English? It's pronounced "Bagratyon" . Google it, he was a general that fought Napoleon, in WW2 there was an operation also called Bagration (Bagratyon) by the Belarusian divisions.

Jonas Drøjdahl dude. You know that “tion” is pronounced in Russian as “tyon”. You don’t say “Bagrashyn” but “Bagratyon”. What’s written is something else. I’m Polish and I know some Russian being a Slav. Spelling a Slav name in English way makes me pissed off. Same with Jerzy Świrski which Flamu spelled as “Jersey” .... OMFG .
