projectiles with a cast time jewel have a bug where the cast time just doesn’t work when you log on the server, just remove the jewel and re equip it and it’ll fix it

thanks man! yeah it's very obnoxious... Had to double check with more experienced people and Yumeko confirmed I wasn't crazy. The one at 13:20 in this video is probably the most glaring example I have of it.

you can reaper e then spear q when you ult for more dmg

I like to learn in real time and the biggest deterrent is weapon repairs.. you take out 2-3 max level weapons that in turn need repair then you gotta deal with players camping the high level resource areas. I feel like controller kids are gonna progress really fast because the ease of a controller.. good stuff though I’m looking forward to 1.0 and having vrising as my main game war logging new world has run its term

Yeah I've never been a big fan of the standard durability in this game. Even if you aren't PvPing its horrible, but with PvP it can be brutal. Not sure I'd know enough to say that controllers are going to dominate. I know a player who's insanely good now, but I haven't messed around with them to know. Here's hoping the population of the game stays high with launch so we can have plenty of chances to test it.

Yeah I think his name is roreen but the current steam controller support will be different I’m sure he’ll still be top tier.. I have to stick with mouse and keyboard no matter what though it just feels more satisfying plus I’ve invested in many many mice and mouse pads. lol

Mace is decent, particularly E, but I generally find that there are WAY better options on E almost always (except for knocking people away which can be setup into something like GS Q or Ult). Mace Q is essentially GS Q but slower and you can't cancel it. Mace Q also slaps in early PvE (and is decent in early PvP) because of the AOE nature and longer gap close. In close range, I'd rather use something like Axe Q though because it's extremely hard to react to and the attack speed you get is very strong. Something I wasn't doing that I need to get better with is Axe Q+Swap to Greatsword for Primary attacks. The attack speed boost persists through swapping. Sword Q is a counter against Barrier skills (Ward of the Damned, Chaos Barrier and Frost Barrier), but otherwise if I can catch you with Sword Q, I can probably catch you with Spear Q, which is vastly superior damage-wise. Sword E is actually decent for long range gap closing, but it's easy to dodge if the other player reacts to it at range, and in a close-up situation, it's not going to be as good as a lot of other abilities.

​@@terribletimmy2 mace q can be used close range to dodge a critical ability and counter attack. For example if I'm about to be hit by spear q I can be in basic attack distance and q just before I get hit, vault behind him, and smash him. Mace q doesn't get interrupted so you can tank one or two ticks. I can also be used to dodge an initiation and counter attack. If someone GS q into me from long range, I can dodge diagonally forward and still hit them with the smash, since GS q is a line and mace is omnidirectional.

​@@johnx140 great points. Admittedly, I don't have nearly as much experience with Mace. My issue generally stems from the idea that it is super easy to counter mace Q with a counter for example, and while GS is as well, at least I can cancel GS Q to try and bait it. It's true that you have WAY more control over the Mace Q trajectory, so I will need to practice it more.

Btw we will be losing a hotbar slot to make it even for controller

Yeah not looking forward to that. I don't really use all weapons in Open World at a single time, but for them to add weapons AND take away a slot AND we have potions AND we sometimes want to use hotbars to track resource numbers... Not sure I'll enjoy losing one
