I have always been a solo slooper the entirety I have played the game. I have never been that good at PvP and I wanted to improve more, and your guide is really helpful. There is only thing I think you forget that should be mentioned. FIRE. Using fire against a galleon makes it very hard for them to repair anything. It also makes it so they can not shoot you so easily.
@jdluck3180

Fire tends to make new players panic, but has little to no effect on experienced players besides the damage over time, but experienced players will know how to avoid it. It's not as useful as it sometimes seems to be.

Good guide! I found you from your sword video on Reddit. I have something to add about never dropping your anchor. For me, unless I was just unlucky the times I did this, I raised my sail fully and my sloop continued to slightly drift forward several minutes after I railed the sail. I've noticed the same happen on other ships. A trick I like to use when parking a sloop is to drop anchor, make sure the sail is fully raised, then raise the anchor again since it raises quickly on sloops. This way, the sloop is guaranteed to stay put while I'm on an island.
@cdgonepotatoes4219
2 жыл бұрын
A small problem that happens unless you're flat against a dock is that a raised anchor means the ship is free to spin around and it will spin around, often in your disfavor, if the rudder isn't perfectly straight, which it won't unless I missed some key which by holding it down you return something to its original position.
@lily2748
2 жыл бұрын
@@cdgonepotatoes4219 It is possible to center it perfectly straight. It just takes practice. I do hope they add a button for auto-center in the future because it can be quite frustrating to center the wheel on keyboard.
@cdgonepotatoes4219
2 жыл бұрын
@@lily2748 update on this, thanks to a good samaritan liking my comment and reminding me of its existence: hope it's a bug, because I noticed a very small and very annoying thing about anchored ships which sees them very slowly spin in one direction even in calm waters, sails raised and the rudder straight. I'm a firm believer of the "don't drop the anchor" now, if not for nebulous ideas of time saving just so the ship stays aligned to the stupid docks if I'm staying around somewhere for more than 5 minutes.
Here‘s some of my tips (might overlap with those in the video) 1. Just practice a lot by boarding frequently, trying to stay alive as much as you can etc. 2. Hopping around while fighting and sprinting will make it a bit harder to hit you 3. Play on servers with your ping - if your ping is too high you can basically just forget it and go since it will be harder for you to fight someone. 4. Practice aiming with both your guns and cannons 5. Use the weapons that you feel comfortable with 6. Grab a few blunder bombs 7. Either grab meat or just the best food you have, it will help you stay alive - plus you get some nice regeneration when not in a fight.
Another last resort tactic I’ve used to great effect, is draw them into the L-bend of the map in the red zone, power turn, then drop your anchor and harpoon into them and lock it using X.... it will force them into a red water scuttle situation, keeping them in place... a wonderful troll manuver if they won’t leave you alone and you have nothing to lose! 😜
You seem like a total sweat, and the exact kind of player I'm always having to defend against, but thank you for the pointers!

The sail facing forward into the wind tip is insane. That changed everything; I wondered how I was getting caught - I was always hard angling... like you actually should.
Thing I love most about your videos since I started watching recently, is you don't have obnoxious intros or outros, don't scream "HEY GUYS IM BACK AGAIN" or something similar. Just chill, straight to the point, informative videos. Keep it up man.
That tip with the harpoon is really good. It reminded me of a time when a friend was cannoning me at someone, and as I left the cannon, they harpooned me instead of our boat. I killed them because they were so confused lol.
So, after watching your solo sloop pvp tips, I, for the first time yesterday, did not run from a fight. I just got to PL *flexes mightily* and decided to be suicidal and fly the Athena flag. On my way to Devil's Roar (because if we are being suicidal, may as well go all in), a couple of guys in a Reaper sloop found me. Instead of running as fast as I could to wherever they were not, I turned and fought. I got their mast down (with cannonballs, not chainshot because I missed every shot I fired with chainshot) and I got them on fire and I put a bunch of holes in their ship before I was murdered by a cannonball to the face. When I respawned, my ship was sinking, but I had brought along with me on this suicide mission, a rowboat that happened to have a cannon on it, so I started shooting at them again, I decided I had pushed my luck too far when they brought out the sniper rifle and found my mermaid back to my ship. I was terrified but I really enjoyed in that moment! Thank you for the encouraging solo sloop pvp videos!
As a person that has no friends and is an introvert. This really helps me because I am trash at pvp in SoT. Thank you for the Video.
No joke, I didn't even realize the cannon ball barrel at the bottom of the stack housed its own loot. I thought both barrels stacked on top of one another was a singular set piece. You taught me something very important today so thank you! xD
This actually helped way more than I thought it would. I'm not one to play with people and I'm a solo slooper. Thank you for the good advice!
Thanks great video been playing about a month and this guide is the best I've seen for trying to figure out the pvp meta when you're not familiar with a game yet.
Damn this channel is a hidden gem, thanks for the tips!
Great guide please continue to make more I find you so informative and easy to understand.Also I can see your a great and very experienced player so know for sure your tips will hit the mark keep it up man
So I've had the game since day one but with lack of content early on and early griefers I decided to leave it for a while, now I'm on my first week back into the game and I'm a solo slooper. Top tip if you have major anxiety and depression like me, this game is both amazing and a horrible experience. It's a beautiful game, I love the world and it's really calming just to sail about. But being constantly spawn killed, sunk and getting "Ezzzzzzz" messages.. it really makes it difficult to stay invested so I end up not playing for the rest of the day. This guide is what I've been looking for and hopefully I can start sending other people to davy Jones's locker rather than being there myself.
I’ve logged about 78 days into this game, this is by far the greatest compilation of my secrets so far
The death grown of the ship you were talking about was really effective, and that helped me so much to not sink too quickly and winning more fights. Thank you. 😁
I don’t have Sea of Thieves and I’m planning on getting it soon and this is just feeding my knowledge about Sloop tactics.
I just want to say one of my crew mates mentioned watching your videos so i checked you out. As someone who has been playing since day 1 as a solo slooper its good to see other insane people.
I'm really proud of myself now. I figured most of this out on my own.
Extra tip for parking your ship, get good at using the harpoon to help park, on xbox its LT to pull the line in and x to brake. Great for making your ship come to a complete stop without needing to anchor
my pvp tip, run like hell! Sail across the seven seas to get away! (technically you can’t cuz lorewise its in a different realm) and when they catches up sail out to the borders and sink your ship, we are not gonna let them have it!

Really helpful video! Just adding to the fort plays. If you are going to swim to a tower, make sure you grab some chainshots. Killed a 3 man brig while I was solo. My method was to shoot down both their masts, preferably right near the tower. Shoot a few cannon balls or blunder bombs top deck if you can to slow down fixing the mask. Then just swim toward their immobile ship with a gunpowder barrel. In this instance they had one on hull repairs, and both fixing each mask. They had no counter and the keg overwhelmed them.
That's gotta be the best pirate I've ever seen
This is what I was looking for. Really informative I liked it!
Both impressive and instructive. Don't quite have the sand to pull off some of these tricks but, will definitely put in some more time to smooth out my game. Thanks for sharing.
I’ m amazed by all the content on your channels, I just started Seo of thieves 1 month ago and I obviously need to train some stuff Thanks again for not letting noobs down !
Thank you. I just started. I’ve been watching all these tips. And my god I am awesome with solo
every time I go fight some people they hit me off with a cannonball or one hit me with it. Then when I get back they have anchored me, set the ship on fire, started spawn camping, and shooting more holes into me. It sucks but I’m used to it.

Blurbs is a hero! I only love solo slooping... but I don't have what it takes. Never will. I suck at it. Miss a lot. I get ganked all the time. I'm old. I'm a dad in his 40's. Not enough time for practice, no patience, so I rage quit for months and stick to twitch. I do come back to it eventually and start over... for nothing. Did I tell you I love solo slooping?
Amazing video. I feel stronger as a solo slooper. Now I don't feel like I'm helpless and at the mercy of the sea when I'm sailing alone which is most of the time the case
Solo sloop is the way. I personally do this because I do not trust others and will rely on myself (which is probably the best decisions I have ever made). I just watched this for fun and I remember when I first started playing a couple of months ago, not knowing how to use ANYTHING. 100% wish I watched this back then, but this is honestly pretty good for those who don't know how to solo sloop.
Great guide. Best solo sloop guide ive seen.

Love the vids helping me out , Some of the stuff I didn’t know.
I started playing a month ago nd seen this video the first week off me playing the game nd this help so much Thank you Sir
Something I feel people forget on a sloop against the bigger ships is that you are the _most_ maneuverable rocks are your friend as less skilled crews particularly open galleons often cannot do the precise last second turns and will run aground or even ram dead into a rock and get stuck for minutes while you nail a last second turn and avoid the rock completely able to fight or run while they scramble.
Great tips! And awesome gameplay to watch💯
I have found your channel after muselks stream. Great content.
Awesome tips in there. I am proud to say that I figures some out myself.
Thanks for the tips! I have been eyeing this game for a few years now and I think I made a decision to buy it.

Solobslooping has been my thing since week 1. I love it. Galleys fun too but I love my sloop.
This is super helpful because I don’t have very many friends that play sot so I am usually a solo sloop
I'm almost brand new, as in I bought the game almost a year and a half ago on sale and decided to finally play it alone. I find it effective if u need to come to a complete stop without drifting, anchor and then unanchor bc the sloop only takes like ten seconds to lift the anchor.
Hey, I love your updated content. Keep them coming. Thank you.
I know this was made a year ago but as someone that has just picked this game up a couple of days ago I must say this was awesome
Quickest way to get better at the game. Hands down. Well said.
as far as the never anchor thing goes. sometimes it helps to drop anchor and then raise it immediately just to stop the boats forward drift when docking, but never STAY anchored. if you feel the boat will drift use the harpoons to secure the ship.
Thanks for the tips dude
Dude I’ve been watching your videos and I just wanted to say I love your ship setup. I wish I had the bone crusher figurehead.

You are professional pvp gamer, much appreciated for guide
Great video man!
Just started playing thanks for this
Great video, thanks. I never knew about angling the sail directly forward with headwind., kinda weird.
Thanks for this. I was just about to succumb to the brig bc my buddies were telling me the brig can move faster into the wind than the sloop. I knew that was some bullshit. It'll be better for them if I don't need help anyway.
Nice job , i played 1week mostly solo sloop its amazing
Thanks for this, literally getting an Xbox and this game tomorrow and I’ve been playing on PS4 so I’ll be playing solo for a while.
5:10 this tactic is useful also gives the impression of a skeleton crew and make other players think that the ship is still being manned
Only 4k? Dude can't wait til you blow up. I've binged your videos. Also, what cosmetics are on your ship?
Solid tips and strong tips. A great video even for veterans, there might be a tip in here you didn't otherwise know.
I started playing my first time today. Noticed it’s kinda cartoony so I pushed the graphics and everything maxed out crossing my fingers it’ll run smooth. And oh my god is this game beautiful as hell. I can’t believe how the water looks. Best water I have ever seen in a game. Normal non gamers wouldn’t understand why this water is so freaking amazing
Just drop the anchor, wait until you come to a full stop and raise it again, unless disturbed the ship will not move (only rotate if you have rudder input). Try and point the ship in a way where you can catch full sails very quickly. Also if you wanna learn how to pvp without getting stomped by sweatlords, go remove all fancy cosmetics (especially earned ones). Dedicated pvp crew will usually not bother chasing lowly sloops unless they got high emissary rank, so the people who pvp you are often new to pvp too.
If you do not want your ship to move and you have the time USE THE ANCHOR and then lift it back up instantly. that way your ship wont just slowly drift off...
@maksphoto78
2 жыл бұрын
That's right. There's no shame in anchoring as long as you raise it back up and stay alert. When I end my voyage selling the loot at an outpost, I anchor anyway 'cause I'm not going anywhere after that.
Could u do a guide on how to avoid pvp and defend ur ship? I just like doing voyages
What I usually do is when I'm somewhere. I lower the anchor at a good spot. To harpoon stuff for like put stuff on the outpost then I lower the sails and raise the sails
I used the death groan so many Times. very helpful
thanks! that helped me a lot!
Informative and hilarious!!!
Solo slooping is my favorite thing about this game. I haven't gotten sunk by another crew in over a year because I play safe and chill
I started SoT with season VI, about halfway through the season. Xbox user. My first week was hell (all the bad/toxic things happened lol) so I tried something different. For my second week I signed in this time choosing Xbox players only. WOW what a difference! After doing that I was able to breath and get out there, and start getting things done. Was I still getting attacked? Yes. was I still getting jumped, spawn camped, murdered and robbed? Yes! But...nowhere near as much as when I signed in with both PC and Xbox players. Signing in with controllers only is the only way I sign in anymore! So controller players try going with other controller players only...much better experience I promise!
Good tip, you can bucket your water out of the ship above the grate in the sloop and brig!
Yay i needed this so much😅😂
I also personally find that if there is a storm nearby and you think you can't take on an enemy go into the storm to loose them it actually helped me several times
Thx for the tips bro
I’ve been playing this game since day one and I’m just here learning about how to pvp because me and my crew mainly just do voyages and avoid pvp unless it’s a stronghold or they insist on pvp (that doesn’t include skelly ships)
as a guy with no crew to join almost 75 percent of the time this was very informative
Thanks for the help, I’m gonna start playing sea of thieves again
