Putting the Timp Peak through her paces | Rocky Peak | Simi Valley
Still getting used to the new ebike but I had to send it down my local. Aside from the low BB and pedal striking on techy climbs, i'm happy with the bike overall. It still rattles and creaks more than it should. I might need to grease the headset and remove and reinstall the cranks and BB.

UPDATE As of 10/31/23... the constant clicking you hear in the video is the fork steerer tube. Rockshox is aware and it's getting warrantied. New fork on now, and clicking noise is gone.
timp is silent when all bolts are torqued. check headset torque and battery rail 5 bolts, in line with bottle holder screws. you would not notice ep8 rattle on camera, you definitely have other souses. when dialed Timp is the best emtb, i would never trade it out. save trail brother!

Thanks! I’m sure it something. I want to take the headset apart and re-grease and torque everything again. I mostly heat it from the steerer tube/stem area when I press down on the fork. I hope that fixes it. Thanks for the info!
This looks fun. I need to get back on the MTB soon. Work is taking up all my time now days. Maybe I'll head over and do a few laps on Lower Stagecoach / Side Action to test my shoulder. BTW think of it this way, if your bike rattles enough you wont need a bear bell to warn hikers 🙃

Rocky Peak looks like such a rad place to ride. How long does a loop like this take on the eMTB?

if you park at the donut shop and ride up, about 30-40 min for a loop.
Rattles seems to be from Shimano EP8 which is completely normal and no need to fix. I am thinking to get this bike or commencal meta power sx. How do you like it?

That’s in line with what others tell me. I really like it. Adiase from the creaking and rattle noises, it’s a killer bike. Light and lively. 2 things I don’t like is the low BB, even with short cranks. Lots of pedal strikes. And the rotors keep warping and rubbing while I ride. I assume they get hot. So annoying. Gonna switch to the 220 size and ass if that does the job. If you get it, you’ll love it.
