Putting The Size And Scale Of Our Solar System Into Perspective | Journey To The Stars | Spark
Ғылым және технология
Our planet is but a tiny speck in the ocean of our solar system. This cosmic space runs on proportions completely different to our own world, proportions that can be incredibly hard to comprehend. In this documentary, astronomer Sir Patrick Moore talks us through how how solar system works and puts this incredible scale into perspective.

I can only imagine if this guy was still here to use the technology we have now
At the time, this was a top-notch documentary and makes you appreciate the grand views of space we now enjoy 30 years later and how far computers have advanced. Another thing that amazes me is that when I was little and watched the 1st man on Moon landing on a B&W TV in the 2nd grade and how the Appolo missions basically went there and back on a computer no more powerful than a Commador-64 and compare that to today's SpaceX launches that are going up every day and then returning back to Earth, it has been an amazing journey to watch.
The perfect napping documentary 😴zzz . . .
That Windows 95' UI hit different 😂💙
I like this dude. He spent several moments warning viewers to protect their eyes while viewing the sky. Thoughtful
RIP Sir Patrick Moore!
His voice is so iconic. RIP. ❤
I miss 1999 being in the future
SPARk Channel Thank you very much for sharing!! 👍🙂🙏🏼
Imagining that Sir Patrick's hanging with his beloved cat, Ptolemy. The cosmos, their playground, and all of his questions answered at last. 🌍🌿🦋 🐈 🛸🌙✨️ Rest in paradise.
Nice Video from the late nineteen hundreds

Correction - If the Sun were just one inch away, the nearest star, Proxima Centauri, would be approximately 268 miles away.
Oh look, an actual documentary which educated people, in depth and at a rate to which most can absorb. I love the comments like “this information is out of date”. As if, science doesn’t evolve. It would be like discounting reading Newton, and suggesting it’s “out of date”. Haha.

OK, but science is doing a bit of teetering - at least leaning away from the strident side of materialism. Quantum fanny pinches are nigh.
Amazing how people act like Chihuahuas when they don't realize how small we are 😢❤❤❤

Stealing videos all around, if you say something politicaly wrong (against war) you get demonetized-but those "new" space channels making money of stolen reuploaded property-sad

Great documentary, but some of the info/data has definitely become outdated
If the sun was the tip of a Bullet & the other planets Buck shot's. The kipper belt Would be the spent material of the sun's initial explosion? But then again. That little bullet is inside Canon ball??

I can tell this is a very old documentary. Quite a bit of the information is out of date already. :(
