    Has anyone ever seen a video or test of the peak amps claimed by these jump packs? There's really nothing preventing them from throwing out any number, so just keep that in mind when deciding between unit A and unit B. Best way to test real world performance probably is to put a current clamp on the output with various engine displacements, crank with ignition or fuel system disabled, and get scope traces of the voltage and current during cranking. Repeat with jump packs chilled in oven to sub freezing temperatures, and see how performance changes, not retrying as the packs warm up, since that's no longer testing at the same cold temperature performance.

    Lithium power ! But when they go bad all brands explode in fire lol ! but Noco make probably the best Im using one for my small truck 4 liter engine the GB 40 and its stays in the truck cab for months without being charge in minus 30 whether and it stay charged for so long its unreal so dependable ,don't buy the knock off buy Noco ! If some one else ask for a boost instead of using jumper cable that can ruin your own onboard electronic you pull out your noco booster and the way they go without taking chance of damaging your own truck !

    That depends on what you are attemptong to jump. Find the specs of the vehicle. Specifically the "Liter" amount of the engine "gas" or "diesel" Example. I drive a 2.0 Liter gas engine. Each product has a different amount of amps, but targets a specific engine amount to be able to jump. Hope that helps. The more amps. The bigger liter engine you can jump.

    A car battery has a 3 years warranty. Noco "Genious" has one year warranty. That means you could possible go through three units he GB150's before you get a chance to use it once. Mine lasted one year and was not covered under warranty. My car battery typically lasts 4 years and is under warranty for 3 years. Does that make any sense to anyone.

    Just budget buying a replacement unit annually, like buying insurance. It'd be good to hear about real life reports on the longevity of these things, in addition to how well they work right out of the box. How many owners have had their jump packs for longer than 3 years, and still fully operational? 5 years? Don't know when the first ones were sold though, maybe they haven't been around that long yet?

    So in the REAL WORLD, if your battery is really dead, when you connect any jump starter to it, the dead battery is going to create a power draw from the jump starter, lowering the cranking amps delivered to the engine. How does it do in that case? Your test shows that you must disconnect your battery before using it, correct?

  • @Incountry
    @Incountry3 жыл бұрын

    Nope, not a true test to the large cap engine, the batteries need to be connected as that’s how 99.9999% of vehicles will be boost/jumped started, as not everyone has wrenches ready available to disconnect the batteries and then reconnect them without causing a short across the terminals affecting the ECU having a serious power spike as the truck is running...
