As someone from Germany, the protests and such are quite over-exaggerated. Most Germans, by a wide margin, still support Ukraine. Also, Gas prices have recently been falling like crazy cause all the gas storage facilities are full. And current temperatures in Germany are suprisingly warm, so that alleviates some of the problem to.

@UC_KTRulcc2sMICLD-Tnrynw It's officially Chinese gas from Russia. So Russia sells LNG to China for cheap and the Chinese profit from it. China is a huge winner in this conflict. It's a trade off for the west. This will change though. The west will get more gas from Africa and the middle east a lot more next year. The other option was not to have heat this winter. Not a option at all.
I feel like you glossed over that we've recently filled most of the EU's gas storage and that gas was for a short time traded at ZERO cost to move it around within the EU. Edit: Of course this doesn't mean we are safe from gas shortages by ANY stretch. Our storage was never built to last for months on end - We never expected it to cause we had a stable supply going in.

Indeed. And that's also where the "Germans will be freezing this winter" narrative is wrong. I mean, first of all it's always Germany, as if the Russians can't name any other EU member state, but more importantly, every EU country except Hungary (and even they are nearly there) has filled its gas stores to the required levels, which are based on a particularly harsh winter scenario we're unlikely to actually see. So if this is going to become a fundamental issue at all, it will be in the winter of 2024, not the coming one. That gives us plenty of time to a) fill those gas stores up again and b) ramp up investment in the energy transition moving us away from needing gas in the first place.
@ridingweeb4801

Greetings from Northern Germany! Two things I wanted to share from my perspective: As to Germany's energy market and why it is super tricky: The problem why Germany's electricity prices skyrocket is that we have a super weird system: We use the "Merit-Order" System. Within the Merit-Order System the most expensive energy plant running at that time determines the price for electricity at that moment. Super confusing, I know. For example: If during the day coal powerplant-energy is the most expensive, all prices on our energy market rise. The cheaper prices, that produce energy during the day, like solar, also become more expensive. And now we have the situation that energy from natural gas becomes super expensive. Natural gas makes up 'only' around 20% of our energy market. Most energy sources would be much much cheaper. BUT since the prices of our energy market are always linked to the most expensive energy source - ALL our energy prices skyrocket. Even my "super sustainable green energy" coming from windparks and solar. Sorry for the long text. I thought this might be interesting to know in case US energy markets work differently. As to the protesters: It's mostly people who fell for disinformation, who go and demonstrate in Germany. It's especially stunning that it's both far left and far right movements who organize these protests. Both presenting the same or similar arguments. It is by now partly revealed that Russia was investing in both extreme sides (left and right) to destabilize Germany's political situation. 'Regular' people mostly unterstand what is going on. At the same time of course many, especially poorer people, really suffer from the ongoing inflation. But they usually do not join the left and right wing protests and support Ukraine's independence. Thanks for reading and thank you for this video! It's always super interesting to see how things that happen around here are seen and perceived from other countries :)

I see you mentioned Russia and it’s “partly revealed investments”, maybe it would be interesting for you to know about money invested by nato including Germany in destabilising Russia😅. For example only around a week or two ago Germany held conference called free Russia or something like that(I really don’t remember the name) with so called opposition but the people that were there never were a major opposition in Russia. Germany just tried to put all the russophobes that had at least some connection to Russias political life in one place and introduce them as opposition😅. Also Germany before 2022 had many nonprofit organisations based in Russia which main and only goal was to sponsor antirussian sentiment inside Russia. Their official budget was many times bigger comparing to same organisations of Russia in Germany, also numbers of such German organisations in Russia was higher. All this partly revealed things don’t have nothing special in them comparing to what nato organisations did in Russia for years. For example a few months ago Russians posted a footage of the head of the political department of the British embassy meeting with Russian opposition(dumbest of it) for discussion of political situation and the planned actions. Russia have all this stuff on purpose for many years, just in case maybe you interested in the topic.

We suffer from high energy prices also, put aside the oil countries. Maybe Algeria suffers less than Morocco, but this war offred to the so called oil countries huge market opportunities that apparently they seized extremely well: Qatar for instance. My point is the different policies that arre applied in different regions around the global affect one another. Yet, some benefit, but more suffer.
Fun fact: Iceland has its own 100% renewable thermoelectric power and is not relying on any other country to import oil or gases. And Iceland also uses hot water from the geological hot spots to heat houses instead of using electricity or gas.

As a European it makes me disgusted to think we are even entertaining the thought that we should stop the support to Ukraine because our energy prices have soared and made life a bit more difficult. The problem with this is that it can not even begin to compare to what the Ukrainian population is experiencing, and here we are pitying ourselves. It is beyond belief, and I hope that we can all pull together and make our way through to the other side. I think that's an under-appreciated consequence of this conflict. The credibility of Russia as a peacekeeper in the Caucasus or Central Asia, as a trade partner to Europe, or as a rational actor in geopolitics with the EU and US (and even its own allies), is in tatters. The way Russia has gone about this war, breaking treaties left, right and centre, gaslighting the UN Security Council and General Assembly with one nonsense argument after the other, and denying observable facts about the reality on the ground in Ukraine, is going to stop any other country from being able to take them seriously for decades to come.

Now, If Russia stops the war and faces action for the war crimes, Europe will definitely go back to buying from Russia. It's suicide only if Russia holds it's ground or escalates.
Don't underestimate the blow on the lower class. I worked in a call center for a Dutch energy company during this crisis. Household energy is an entirely privatized market sadly. Our monthly deposits for energy are higher than rent or mortgage sometimes. I left the company a few weeks ago because I couldn't take it anymore. The devastation, the uncontrollable crying, the fear. I spoke to dozens of people every day that couldn't make ends meet anymore with their new tariffs. Many households get cut off from energy by the grid companies as a form of punishment for not making ends meet with the supplier. You want to have your energy back? That's another couple thousand euro's. Even some relatively well off people got deeply indebted. Some people even told me that they have trouble buying food. These parties play huge roles in dividing the European response and in organising and running protests against the sanctions, in an obvious attempt to pressure goverments and the EU as a whole to stop supporting Ukraine. i live in Germany and boyyyy is that true. It's not just electric heaters, its also lots and lots of wood stoves and the wood needed to use them. We had installed our wood stove about a year before the war started and had stocked up on wood as well, but now that we've got the energy crisis everyone is trying to do the same and it has gotten difficult in some places to actually find wood. The only "luck" we've had so far is that due to climate change october has been unusally warm. Which is... well. Germany has invested in biofuels the past decade but since food prices are also rising it's somewhat unlikely that we will see a rise in acreage for biofuel production. Solar panels have gotten popular for new homeowners and are typically installed on newly built homes, but the taxes and fees make them almost not worth it, so they are not utilized by more people. We have wind mills and they cover about 24% of our electricity needs (according to about three quickly googled articles), but they were supposed to cover more and Germany is far too slow in the expansion of renewables. Oh and nuclear energy is very much hated by the general public (meanwhile our neighbour france has plenty of nuclear power plants). Right now big stores are turning off their lights after closing time and also do not run as many escalators as usual and at my university all students received an email with instructions on how to keep energy use low. I wouldn't say there is panic but everyone is slowly and calmly approaching the whole thing (including slowly stocking up your pantry, came across a few articles mentioning how being a prepper is no longer smth that 'crazy' people do). So all in all? Really depends on good management.

Moreover, it's interesting how the replacement Baltic pipeline was inaugurated literally a day after the Nord Stream pipeline explosion - could be coincidence, or perhaps it could've been sabotage by the US or Europe itself.

Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven, you must become a new creation and be born again by responding to the Holy Spirit. - Matthew 7:21-23, Revelation 3:15-16 cf. Hebrews 10:26-29. Pay close attention to your thoughts and how you respond to your inner monologue because it has a greater impact than you think. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life, and do all that you can to follow His ways.
Kudos To Your Editors..

Hello Johnny. I felt like saying that your journalism is exemplary to say the least. Although I may not always see the same angle as you I can always respect your credentials as a modern day journalist of our time. Your decision to go solo is a testament to your character as a standard of professionalism. Coming from a 40 year old male who has understood and listened to the news for the last 30 years to date. @@BenJamin-jc4jm Sadly, it's just a different angle of programming here. Bro.. Why does he keep saying that Putin is the one who shut the gas off? lol.. The German's and others voluntarily turned off the pipes as a sanction, to punish Putin for invading. You keep painting it like "Big bad Putin cut off their oil and gas" and that's not at all how it happened. They did it to themselves and shot themselves in the foot -- that's why their citizens are protesting this choice of action in choosing to purposely put themselves in this energy crisis, for the sake of "backing Ukraine" -- Stop spreading propaganda and just stick to the facts.

I live in Germany, actually I live right next door to that big chemical plant, it's called the BASF. I haven't noticed any panic. But I can also say that normally by this time in the year you can turn your heater on in the apartment but we still don't have heat. It's not so Bad yet cause it's not that cold.
Thank you, Johnny, for your great explanation of hybrid war. Thanks from city of Kharkiv in Ukraine 🙏 to all European and American people for support to us.

Слава Україні! Your fellow countrymen are doing a great job.
Hey german here, I think most people just like to complain about gas prices being high, but i‘ve never heard anyone suggest that this could be a reason to force ukrain to give up. It‘s more a discussion about why the government made themselves dependent on russia, why they won‘t move away from fossil fuel and that they should pay germans so we don‘t have to freeze. The governments only response is „save electricitiy please“ lol
This final note gave me the chills, no pun intended 😬
Keep these uploads! This been my fav channel for a long time
